The "." - numbers topic

Hello, sorry to spam the forum but where is the "." topic where everyone was "decoding" the numbers? Wanted to check if anyone has solved it and boom, it's not here anymore. I can't even enter it from the notifications, all I get is some permission error.

I think what mostly happened was that Jason underestimated forum contributors ability to come up with unnecessarily complicated answers.

 

On the plus side, we all learned how to send encoded messages properly...

I came onto the forum to discover the same thing. However I've found out through the Combat Box Discord as Jason's message was posted on there. The "what" about the announcement was worked out but not the "when". And safe to say we would have never worked out the "when" (the decoding on that one does not make sense to me) of the announcement from the message. Scratch that just figured out what he was on about with how the "when" was to decoded.

looked in this morning then later in the day it was gone, why?

 

I was looking forward to seeing how the numbers thing worked out, we knew it entailed a announcement of something and probably soon, so why pull it before most of us got a chance to see how it was worked out?

 

These things are as annoying when they are posted as when they have been removed.

 

Please remind me to get a life and do something useful, coming here is not it, just so annoying.

Bit of a shame that it's actually gone. It was locked when Jason revealed the answer, but should IMHO have been left to provide everyone with a laugh at how bizarre we all are. ?

But now that it has gone I can reveal that I knew the answer all the time... ?.

Ok, I have seen final Jason's post with the result and he removed the thread not to "ruin the surprise announcement for anyone who's not seen the thread", so please no spoilers here! Probably the best thing would be to somehow remove the thread but others might make similar.

If someone is to blame is the one who created the original thread and deleted it so fast without a warning (30 min doesn't count, I don't think people spend their entire free time here to notice it), that many people who got involved have not got a chance to see the outcome. What is more I bet most people have no idea what happened to the thread in the first place.

The “what” definitely had been correctly figured out. Not from any one person though but rather multiple persons together @QB.Gregor- being one of them if I remember right. The correct posters were those that assumed the blacks were number to letter codes that were anagrams or reversed. No idea whether anyone got the date from the red parts yet. Or whether anyone put together all the parts that others figured out.

Oh, I see. Thanks then, I think that's enough for me to have closure over the deep psychological trauma.

 

Based on what @TrueGrey said above, the 'times up' part would seem to indicate no one put it all together by the time of the thread's demolition.

I think the date part required a lot of luck to guess it right. As basing on Jasons post I couldn't deduct only one possible solution but many instead.

The very last I heard from Jason was that it had nothing to do with map co-ordinates and it had nothing to do with the Pacific, before going to bed.

(oh, and that he was quite amused that people were multiplying the numbers when he exclaimed he gave so many hints about adding and subtracting, lol).
