Hello to all.

Yesterday I bought IL2 Sturmovik Normandy Premium ed. (€69,00).

First appear the message that couldn't updatye the game at the end of installation, but afyer a few tryouts, it was finally installed...

My issue is that I have no campaigns, maps, missions, nor career, etc. from normandy (and no other, either!)...?!

What is wrong? What should I do?

Please, someone that can help me, please, do so.

Any else info from me just ask.

Thank you very much.

Early access, as the store clearly tells you. So far BoN has nothing but... two planes I think.
All the rest will come later.

Also buy Stalingrad premium for $11.99 if you can (and any others as they are all very reduced at the moment) - you will have a lot more content then including a career, and can use the mission making utilities or PWCG.

Also, remove your email from your post for security reasons.

It says in the Batle of Normandy Advertising page:

"The Premium Edition contains eight standard aircraft and two collector aircraft. The two included Collector Planes are; the British made Spitfire Mk.XIV and the advanced German built twin-engine Arado Ar 234 jet bomber. These two aircraft bring the total amount of included aircraft to ten in the Premium Edition.

IL-2 Sturmovik: Battle of Normandy is part of the IL-2 Great Battles series and can be played as a separate stand-alone product or be integrated with other Great Battles titles such as Battle of Stalingrad, Battle of Moscow, Battle of Kuban or Battle of Bodenplatte. Combine all titles to create one big WWII air-combat simulation with both Eastern and Western Fronts depicted.

Note: On Steam, customers must first purchase Battle of Stalingrad if they wish to purchase Battle of Normandy.

  •  2 Collector Planes (Spitfire Mk.XIV and Ar 234)
  •  8 Battle of Normandy Aircraft (P-51B/C, P-47D “Razorback”, Typhoon Mk.Ib, Mosquito F.B. Mk.VI, Bf 109 G-6 “Late”, Fw 190 A-6, Ju 88 C-6a and Me 410)
  •  Map of the Normandy Battle Area (Southern England, Normandy and Calais Regions)
  •  Battle of Normandy Pilot Career
  •  Quick Mission Builder
  •  Custom Single-Player Missions
  •  Scripted Campaign Support
  •  Multiplayer Mode (Cooperative and Dedicated Server)"

...

I think I'm not understanding this... !

Other question is that I have thru Steam aqquired all other versions,  Battle of Stalingrad, Battle of Moscow, Battle of Kuban or Battle of Bodenplatte. Combine all titles to create one big WWII air-combat simulation with both Eastern and Western Fronts, but how can I do this?

I've included on Steam the Normandy version so it appears included in Stallingrad version but no content, again. hould I install it inside Stallingrad folder?

I have already saw in youtube some videos of missions of normandy, why don't I have access to the maps, etc.?

Thank you for yor disponibility to answer me, be patient, please...

I took out my email, thanks for the advice, von_Tom

Nice fights!

It does indeed, contain all of those things, but the title is currently in Early Access. Therefore you only have access to each of these aircraft as they are completed and released by the developers. So far only the p-47 razorback, Bf 109 G6 'Late' and FW190 A6 have been released. The next aircraft to be released will be the Spitfire XIV, which is supposed to be released 'before the end of the month' and, boy, are we all excited about that?!

in simple terms:
as others have stated - you pre-ordered a not yet finished package.
BUT - you have access to ALL maps in Multiplayer.
What you do not have is any planes that fit the era of those maps as you have bought the planes that come with the Normandy map == late-war, as "your" late war planes are not playable yet, the other late war planes are in a different packages, and so are the early and mid-war planes... across the two different theatres.

As there are a lot of sales going on, buy another package of your choice for nothing, enjoy the product for what it is in single player and multiplayer until you get assets from the package you purchased at your disposal

There’s another paragraph under the text that you have quoted which is rather relevant. Also the image says Early Access on there also.

I think part of the problem here is that game publishers use the term 'early access' in several different ways. It can mean anything from 'coming out in multiple stages' to 'including most of the intended content, but full of bugs'. Or even 'sold as early access because we aren't going to finish it, ever'. Possibly 1C-777 could make it a little more explicit as to what exactly they mean, but in general I'd advise people not to buy 'early access' products on the assumption that they are immediately going to be fully functional.

Thank you all, comrads!

In fact, it was my first Early Access purchase, poor idea!... To buy something only maybe this, maybe that, its not my way of doing things, worse, pay for it and not such a low cost...

Just because is a Early Access it has nothing? I think this is no proper way of doing things... ok, multiplayer access... not enough.

Thank you again all you repplyers, have nice flights!

I'll hope some day we'll get the due content of normandy campaign...

For now I'm desappointed with my purchase and regreted. Hope for the best and honest promisses.

Bye, Thanks,

Welcome RuiFFerrao !

Rule number 1 : never preorder ! ....except if it's Il2 ? !

More seriously, all BON content should (will?) arrive in the coming 12 month. As said earlier, P47D22, Me109G6 late & FW190A6 are already here, and the mighty spitfire XIV is around the corner (next week most likely), the Typhoon being not far behind (my guess, June or July). You should already have access to those first 3 planes on Lapino & Veliyi Luki maps, and you can fly them against any other planes as AI in the Quick Mission Builder (QMB).

Most if not all other title are on sale right now, and have a lot to offer by themselves (8 planes standard / 10 planes premium, carrer, missions, PCWG, ...). Stalingrad offers planes for most eastern front battles, Moscow has a tremendous ambiance, Kuban has the best map (sea & mountains !) and Bodenplatte will bring you a campaign for all the already released planes of Battle of Normandy !

Fly safe,

Hi, CaptainFlemme

Thank you for your answer.

Didn´t realise that in Quick missions I could fly those 3 planes that indeed I have, but missed the maps. I'll check it!

And the question of merge with my other steam versions, should I install normandy inside stalingrad folder? Or no need...? Because ti fly some planes in some maps belonging to one or the other version...? What should I do? Only normandy isn't steam. I tryed to put the normandy key in steam but no aceptance.

Oh, and I don't need to pay more for the coming content of BoN, right?

AndyJWest, you totally get me:

" I'd advise people not to buy 'early access' products on the assumption that they are immediately going to be fully functional."

Again, thank you all

I'm not familiar with Steam installs, but normally every titles are automatically installed together, your account giving you access only to owned content. If you bought on Steam and on 1c777 website, and if both your accounts (1c & Steam) are linked, I think you should be able to see all your Il2 titles when you next login to the game, in the top right corner, main menu :)
