Hey guys I’m having a bit of a problem. When I go to switch my name from Player_12345 or whatever number I was assigned, it doesn’t link. I am typing in the right email and password and it’s still giving me wrong email/password.  Any idea what I’m doing wrong? Thanks for the replies :fool:

How did you fix? I have the exact same issue. Bought game on steam, trying to link with existing IL-2 account, game always says wrong email or password even though the email/password works fine at il2sturmovik.com.

Hm okay I have solved my problem but damn what a hazel ?

 

First of all, I went to the IL2 website and created an account with the username I also want the game to show.

Start the game normally through Steam

Click on the auto-generated player name.
Now you should get (like me) a couple of options. I chose the possibility that I have played the game through only Steam (as I remember since I can not get this page up anymore)

Then you should have a Explore, Chrome or whatever you're using page up where you enter your Steam user name and associated password.

Start Il2 again normally in through Steam - afterwards, for me at least .... yipeee .... username changed to the username I had created for the account I created independently at il2sturmovik.com .... peew !!
 
And as I just remember, I did not do anything else.
I'm sorry if it does not work for others, so I've forgotten something - but, as I just remember, I did not do anything else.

So changing a simple player name was just NOT as easy and straightforward as IL2 proclaims.?

I am having issues registering as well.  When I go to the "Link Accounts and Login" I get a:

 

#4: Wrong e-mail or password

 

However, verified and changed password without success.

8 months after the OP & still no official replies or real solutions. its at least good to know what level of support is forthcoming before paying for any other products.

Same here - just tried to link Steam with IL-2 account after starting the game, but I'm just getting the "Wrong e-mail or password" error.

I had this same problem! I bought IL-2 Battle of Stalingrad deluxe edition today on Steam. It's the first game of the series I bought since 1946 series. I have an old IL-2 forum account, but none of the old games are linked to the account. So.

 

IL-2 gave me the same error when I tried to link the IL-2 account. I fixed it by choosing create a new IL-2 account. After I chose that the game told me I need to first login to my Steam account in game and then create a new account to IL-2. I logged in to Steam within from the game and that's all I had to do. My old IL-2 account was added to the game.

 

I was logged to my IL-2 account in Chrome all the time while creating the "new" account.

Or did the game pick up my username from Steam, because I'm still not seeing the purchase on my IL-2 profile page? The game doesn't let me to sign in to anything any more, so hopefully it's all good.

Just bought today. Stalingrad Deluxe and a couple of DLCs. Same issue, first had the one "main server bla bla..." What gives? And no answers from devs here. Sigh...

l2 main site integration with steam not working probably 

Discerption :The two Accounts are partially linked because after doing link  I have my user name in main il2 account appears on steam BOS main game screen  instead of randomly generated used name. The problem is that the purchased content from main Il2 site (Attached) are not shown  on steam account. it is still not activated

Any update to this? I am so very very sure, my password and email is correct. I've reset my password 5 times I know it's correct. In game tells me wrong email and password.

But still can't play games
Everything is locked
Quick mission got nothing
Can tell me what to do?

I Bought the game via Steam in 2017 but refunded it. Recently repurchased the game and played a couple career mode games and tried to create an account. I Attempted to connect my steam account to Il-2 and received the "#5: License key is not activated" error and I am unable to play the game. Just put in a ticket with customer support. I have noticed there are many other forums with the same issue, yet no one has been able to resolve the issue, or received a solution via customer support but didn't bother posting the solution on the forum.

Okay guys.
Just a little niggly one at the moment.
I bought Stalingrad initially through steam and then found out about this great site where I could purchase direct.
So thanks to people here I can now purchase here and play in addition to my initial steam purchase, or play independantly from the IL*2 launcher on my desktop.
But when I launch directly from IL*2, all games appear except the original steam purchase of Stalingrad. I thought "No worries, I will just purchase another copy of Stalingrad through here and play it in with the others from my IL*2 launcher" Great idea right? - - -  Wrong!
I cannot purchase Stalingrad from here for myself, as it tells me I already have the key for that game. But that key is locked in with steam and if I am not playing via steam, I cannot access that title in my standard IL*2 launcher.
Does anyone know of a cure for this little challenge?

I had the same, you can ask Olga from support, she helped me, i think it was with unlocking the links set with steam.

Olga is already in the process of helping me out on another challenge, so I might have a look at any steam links I can find first and then ask her if I cannot get anywhere.

I recently purchased add on products and cannot play them on Steam. Why would you sell them if they are not compatible.

If you want help, provide details. What you own on Steam, and what 'add-ons' you purchased? Nothing is sold that isn't compatible, provided you have followed the appropriate instructions.

What the title says.

 

Not blocked by AV.  Steam integrity verification indicates a number of files were missing/corrupted.  Verification process said that the files would be re DL'd.  Shut down and restart both PC and Steam client to no avail.

 

What are my next steps?

All purcheses from steam.

The problem im have is when ever i try to start a new career using ether battle of stalingrad or battle of rheienland map does not matter what side i choose as sone as i get to pilot setup and then click continue i keep getting this error Carrers list unavalable

Ive check that im online in multiplayer dogfight server list loads so that not the problem.

Any help please.

as it happens i verifed the integity of game files withing steam my career now works

Can we get a rough update on what the support backlog is?

 

I contacted support a couple of days ago and there’s complete silence. Come to think of it, I’m not sure if I even received an automated “we received your request....” type of email either.

Thanks @-DED-Rapidus! I did not know about the holidays.. I got a response from customer service while I was at work. 
 

For anyone that ends up at this thread in the future: you need to create a ticket with support, and when they ask, you need to follow their instructions.

 

Since it is done through unique means they’re having to do this every time a person/customer has this issue, specific to that customer. I hope this clears up some of the questions others may have in the future.

hi guys just updated to latest version and is now crashing back to steam screen ,will not start from desktop icon either

This can happen when you have multiple updates piling up over time and maybe with additions bought over time. You may have corrupted files or even missing files which finally crash the sim. In those cases I would recommend a complete cleanup of the previous version and a fresh install from scratch. The server knows all what you have acquired over time so it will reinstall all the items that you are officially entitled to.

It works perfectly on the IL2 website, I do not use Steam, but it should work similarly I suppose.

If applicable to you do not forget to backup your missions and campaign files that you have developed (they are in the data directory), the custom skin library and whatever mods you had installed.

In this way after a fresh clean install you will restore those files and you will have your sim clean and set up as before.

I would recommend to do so at least when there is a major update than requires to resave all the custom developed missions and groups.

But sometimes when many updates pile up before a major one, to do a fresh install is a an excellent thing to reset the sim to a clean state.

It's quick, does not take much time if you have a fast connection, and worth it for the peace of mind.

Hi all,

 

I've recently started being unable to login to BoS launched via Steam. I just get a generic

 

#1 No connection to authorization server

#2 Your connection to the Master-Server was lost, please check your connection and try again

 

Internet is fine, has anyone else been seeing this?

I confirm that Olga is still doing good support: her  inquiry email in the morning -> my reply in the afternoon -> my problem completely solved in the evening. Chapeau!!! That's what I call fast

login through steam and all my dlc is gone i cant really play at all now, whats the trick?

You need to link your Steam account with your website account to see any DLC you bought on this site.

I've had to do some moving about on my hard drives these past few days and had to uninstall then reinstall IL-2 Great Battles and since reinstalling all of my steam-based purchases are no longer showing up. It's like the account's steam link has been severed but it hasn't as far as I can tell.

Thanks, been trying to link my steam game to this site, after this site says to use my steam key, and steam refusing to tell me my key as they removed it from the UI options, managed to do as described in game,  though the link from in game to the internet window (chrome) did take a few minutes to update the status.
