Hello y'all,

My Varjo VR-3 will be here tomorrow. Pretty exciting!!! Going forward, I will post in a new topic. I think I have hacked the hell out of this one. Sorry about that Helo.

I will be creating some videos I will post on my new YouTube channel. So stay tuned and look for the new topic. I will call it "Varjo VR-3". So it should be easy to find.

Picard out!

Nice. Perhaps you could also crete a new thread for the VARJO (instead of thix XTAL thread).

It would be good if you could take through the lense pictures (with a mobile or compact camera it is possible).

I don´t know if you had other VR devices before, but it would be good to compare them with the VARJO.

I will indeed create a new thread/topic. I mentioned it on my last post.

I will try and take some through the lens pics for you all. No experience doing that but I'm sure someone posted an "how to" somewhere.

And yes, I have a few other headsets. I had the Oculus CV1. I have an HTC Vive, a Samsung Odyssey, a Valve Index and an HP Reverb G1. I also had an Xtal for a couple weeks but I had to return it since it was too heavy for the Air Cadets I use my gear with. I would have kept it but I decided to return it and wait for Varjo to come up with something new.

Nice to see you also had most of the headsets. For the thruthelense pictures I also had no experience and used a compact camera to take them.

Examples are Index&G2, Index&G1, Index&Pimax, Rift&Pimax, Rift&VivePro,

Normally I created a recorded flight and used it multiple times to compare exactly the same picture.

When taking shoots, I was making about 10 shoots per image and later I chose the best defined.

The compact camera was a Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZX3, just a bought 14 years ago. Nothing special.

I put the camera just 5mm from the  lense, be careful to don´t touch the lense or scratch the lens (Varjo is very expensive device).

I was removing the gasket and put the headset in a table and directing the headset to the specific element you want. Keeping the same distance when taking pictures of the gauges. It is a trial an error process. I believe a good camera phone will produce similar results.
