Do you know what would cause a "Mission Description Loading" perpetual message when starting the campaign?

Updated the main download link to be compatible with 4.702.

Thanks a lot for this campaign, I am really enjoying it, and an excellent opportunity to take the Hurrricane for a stroll.

 

Whenever I fly missions in this campaign, the waypoints on the map always indicate the same information 171ft 249mph.

 

I can clearly see in the game while activating navigation markers that 171 ft is totally wrong.

 

I am under the impression that I have seen this problem as well for other campaigns, does anyone knows what might be wrong?

You are right. The altitude is not set in most mission for the map icons mostly because I don't use the map for altitude.

 

I'll try to incorporate that in my future missions.

The curious thing is that when you activate navigation markers, navigation markers seem to come with different altitude? So somehow it might be registered somewhere, just not appearing on the map.

Navigation markers and map arrows are two separate objects that the mission maker needs to edit separately.

I noticed that it happens in several of your campaigns.

 

Hopefully there would be a script to replicate navigation marker values to the map. I fly without navigation marker just trusting the map, which gave me a lot of weird situation before realizing i was not at all at the right attitude.

 

I am a big fan and playing all your campaigns one by one.

 

You desserve great praise for your work.

I guess the last mission is to show the limits of Hurricane when it comes to high altitude.

 

I shoot regularly between 2 to 5 planes per sortie but in this last mission with bf109-f2, i could not catch anything, feeling i was the slowest machine flying.

 

Or am i missing something?

Just for a lil' clearance on this in game Gui mapping business; navigation markers are just waypoints etc. showing up in the game when activated in general settings?

Yes. Those are correct. The information on the map is not. So you need to have those navigation markers activited to know at which altitude to go

Thanks for this very nice campaign , a lot of différent types of mission , very immersive and fun !!... I have modified it and played in coop with 2 friends and we all enjoyed it a lot !...

@Jade_Monkey Hello, does your campaign work with the latest version of IL-2, 4.706, before I buy the Hurricane?

It should. If it doesn't it's as simple as resaving the missions with the mission editor and you are all set.

 

Regardless, the hurricane is a nice little gem in IL2. It doesn't outclass any of its enemies but it's really nicely modeled and it's a ton of fun. I highly recommend the plane!

With four 20 mils, it's a beast.

If you don't want to buy the GAZ AA truck but still want to play the Campaign, simply delete all the files for Mission #6 (which is the one in which you operate the AA gun - all the others you fly the Hurricane) and then delete the reference to the Gaz truck in the Info file (which is the last file in the Campaign files)

Not sure of you need to modify the text file that has the required modules, it might not be mandatory.

Would love to fly this, but I just get a load of adverts and it will not download. Am I missing something?

Not sure. I have a bunch of adblockers so my experience is probably different from yours.

 

I'll try later without them to see what the steps are.

Hi @Jade_Monkey,

 

Thanks for the great campaign.  I was wondering is there any way to change the skill level of the AI or is it all hard coded into missions for scripted campaigns?  I dont see the usual settings that I see in the career mode to change the ai skill level of the pilots. 

 

Reason I ask is I'm getting absolutely shredded on mission 3 lol.  Can't even survive the first combat mission!  All those F2's in the furball are just on me, I'm either shot to pieces head on in the first pass or I have multiple enemies on my six and they never miss no matter how much I jink around.  I've tried staying out of the furball and picking off stragglers, but still end up attracting attention of mutiple planes who I either can't shake off or just chase me so far away that by the time I come back the mission is over! 

 

How is everyone dealing with this mission, does anyone have any advice on how to best approach it?  Is the ai set to veteran or ace, or am I just really this bad? ? I should note I generally play career mode and hold my own on the medium setting for ai in there.

Yes, the AI level is set in the mission and cannot be changed on the fly.  You can change it with the mission editor if you are familiar with it.

Ah great, thanks for confirming.  Not really familar with the ME so thats ok, I'll just focus on getting better ? Thanks.

I think if you take off and land you can skip to the next mission if you are stuck.

I did actually complete the mission once, made it back to the airfield but without firing a single shot, wings were shredded and could barely see the strip as I was injured and had the dark blurry screen, no idea how I got her down lol.  So its fine, I can move on to the next mission, I just wanted to replay this one and feel like I actually contributed something before doing the next one! ?

Thanks for the campaign!  

 

Just wanted to let you know that if you update it anytime soon, the C-47 skins need to be redone, as all the old ones don't work anymore.  Figured you could use a Soviet one instead of the USA as well.

Good catch. There was a fake Li-2 on a runway for ambiance, I'll have to take a look to fix it.

Thanks! This campaign was fun! ? Very different missions with their own challenges - especially the one with the GAZ truck mounted AA Gun, which I purchased especially for this campaign (money well spend)!
