Dutch2 Posted December 9, 2020 Posted December 9, 2020 (edited) Normally I’m dead at the first shot or finish the mission without problems, (=without a fight). But I guess become a better pilot I can more anticipate to the attacker’s so here is something that I do meet frequently when my Russian plane is being crippled by the Germans. Is it normal when being shot at your engine/cockpit and your engine is going to die, also the graphics in your VR headset is going to die. Sure I know as being an wounded pilot, the game is trying to simulate that. But any reason to get the whole sky banded like already being in walhalla and generating a view as being a part of an Drugs related psychedelic experience . Yesterday’s flight, I was only slightly wounded according PWCG outcomes, that I even suspected being caused by the hard landing in the field. Is it an adjustment thats causing this to my VR HS? The SteamSS=150% and the ingame Dynamic Resolution is set to 0,9 Reprojecting is set to auto in SteamVR .txt file. Edited December 9, 2020 by Dutch2 2
firdimigdi Posted December 9, 2020 Posted December 9, 2020 Yeah I can attest to that as well. Have had instances of being slightly wounded and the view was a blurry mess after that; I seem to recall that previously it would be blurry for a while then slowly clear up however this remained so for the duration of my return to base. Was also playing in VR, but I don't know if this is actually VR-related or just some counter not decreasing over time in certain circumstances. 1
Dutch2 Posted December 9, 2020 Author Posted December 9, 2020 Thanks for confirmation, think we are the only ones, the rest is I guess; blind, ace or direct being killed. ? BTW correcting my SteamVR is 150% not 140%
vonGraf Posted January 22, 2021 Posted January 22, 2021 (edited) I had exactly the same experience desctribed above recently. I'm playing on a 4K monitor, not VR and was barely able to see the enemy and other planes anymore. Especially when it's darker at dusk or dawn it's quite bad. Even the ground haze (or ground textures in general) seemed to be affected by this banding (or lower color depth). I'd prefer something like a 'tunnel vision' effect to show that you're wounded. sniperton Posted January 23, 2021 Posted January 23, 2021 I guess it's the same (or a similar) visual effect at work as when you grey out due to high-G fatigue. Pics are with and without rowdyb00t's cloud mod in FHD:

1CGS -DED-Rapidus Posted January 27, 2021 1CGS Posted January 27, 2021 @vonGraf, Dynamic resolution ratio, please set to full, and then disable the Target Fps settings (off).

Dutch2 Posted January 27, 2021 Author Posted January 27, 2021 @-DED-Rapidus even with DRS set at 0,9 like in my case, I should see this effect also when my FPS are lowered from 90 to 60-50 FPS during game VR play, which is not. It only appeared when I’m in trouble. But what is DRS lowering, is it the percentage of the pixels, like 0,9 is 10% lesser pixels on the VR screen.
