Bf109G6 official 4k Skins "NOT YET" historically corrected!?!

Bf109G6 official 4k Skins historically corrected, well I would have if I could find them?

 

I decided to be all on the ball and go and historically correct the Bf109G6, but sadly I have hit a bit of a wall. In that I can not find the 4K DDS files for this plane.

 

I went ahead and extracted all the Skin and Plane GTPs only to find that the Bf109G6 and the P39L were still only in 2K.

 

Knowing that some of the Skin and Plane files are duplicated in more than one GTP and in some cases that the Skin files are in the Planes GTP and that this may have caused the 4K versions to be overwritten by 2K versions, I then went ahead and methodically extracted each GTP one at a time renaming any files that where extracted Skin or Plane GTP number that they had been extracted from.

 

By doing this I was able to locate both a 2K and 4K Skin in the Skin GTPs for the P39L, yet was only able to find the 2K version of the default skin for the P39L.

 

However for the BF109G6, 2K Skin and Plane files were all that was extracted. There was also no Planes directory created for either of the Yak9s but there is a Skins directory.

 

I have even go to the effort of extracting each and every GTP to see if the Bf109G6 and others were hidden elsewhere but have found nada.

 

I have even confirmed with the viewer that the 4K skin are indeed installed.

Bf-109g6 is in Skins2.gtp file. Extracts under skins folder.

 

Check that the file has this kind of timestamp:

20.09.2020  18.30       995 600 232 Skins2.gtp

 

Otherwise there must have gone something wrong while upgrading.

Thanks for your response, yes I found that the Bf109G6 skin files reside in Skins2.GTP, and that the default skin is found in Planes2.GTP, but as I said when I extract these GTPs there are only 2K files for the Bf109G6 in them:

 

Skins2.GTP

 

Planes2.GTP

 

The time stamp sadly is not of much help in this case, as it dependant upon when you installed the patch, as I updated my installation on Monday, it has Monday's date, however as you can see below the file size is the same for my Skins2.GTP as it is for yours:

 

 

And as I also mentioned the 4K are definitely there, as I check them in the viewer, I have an older unpatched install on another drive, and the difference between the 2K and 4K files is very easy to see.

 

So have you actually extracted files from Skins2.GTP and do you actually have 4K skins for the Bf109G6? If you can confirm that you have 4K files for the Bf109G6 extracted from your Skins2,GTP that would be great.

• Bf109G-6 4K skins are definitely in Skins2.gtp.  I just checked and they are the 4K versions.  Make sure the skins2.gtp is dated 16 Sep 2020.
• Bf109G-6 default 4K skin is in Planes5.gtp

 

• P-39L1 4K skins are in Skins13.gtp
• P-39L1 4K default 4K skin is in Planes2.gtp

Any problems let me know.  I'm sure you already know I also release the new G6 template here.  The template includes the Finnish national markings with a censor layer you can disable.

Thank you both for all your help.

 

In desperation I've just tried the extraction process on another drive entirely and everything worked as advertised and all the 4K files are there (for Skins 2/13 and Planes 2/5 at least), so I have no idea what's going on here at the moment.

 

@ICDP I've been so much hanging out for the your G6 template, so thank you as always for your excellent work.

 

@Hanu Thank you for taking the time and making the effort to help out, it is much appreciated.

 

Now in a few days I'll be able to change the title to "Bf109G6 official 4k Skins historically corrected
