Guys - some people have updated through Steam no problem, some of you have it hanging. I suggest re-launching Steam and trying again. We have done everything correctly. Its an issue with Steam apparently.

Downloaded web version and just flew a one hour long mission with no problems. Nice update thanks.

I was stuck at 87%.... exited steam and restarted as jason suggested, now back downloading at a good rate again.

After some discussion and suggestions in Discord, we figured out it appears to be a problem with the EU steam servers. 
If you have a VPN, set it to the US. That fixed it for several of us.

for everyone having issues with steam, try changing your download Region under settings, see the screenshot, that helped in my case (Germany)

Quick question: do I need to resave every non-original single mission / campaign that I have in the game or this is just for servers?

Can confirm, changing the "Download Region" to US resolved the 2.1GB stop issue

I am afraid you have to resave all missions do you have, because the change of format.

Yep can confirm previous couple of posts re changing the server region. I'm based in UK and hopped onto the US-New York server and the remainder of the update from 2.1 to 2.3GB downloaded at my normal d/l speed. Thanks for that.

HI, I don't have steam, it fails every time. I think it has finished then it says failed during install... on the 5th try. It says this time it is good, now going to try to play.

Ok. Just my further 2sents. Thanks for the free campaign...wonderful to get gifts like this. The G6 I always thought had the best default skins of any aircraft. Now even more superb.  Well the spotting. I use one of the icon mods but my humble opinion on the Rheinland map- summer reasonably low altitude I thought it was great.

 

I have been here since 2014. You guys have always listened...I see it in the planes you gave us-addressing things like spotting-having newspapers in the campaign ....everywhere, you have kept working to improve your product even BOS gets all the updates, you have kept pushing free content.

 

Great work guys....Jason/Han/B6/AnPetrovich/Sneaksie/Viks and the team. I have missed some name please forgive me...but you guys deserve credit.

I like some of the changes, but I can no longer hear the gun port whistle from the cockpit of the P-51 Mustang, maybe it's my game, but that's a big complaint of mine so far, I liked hearing the whistle of the gun ports, it makes me sad that it no longer has that sound.

Sometimes also I think the targets look too large at medium ranges, sometimes looks like a medium bomber rather than a fighter, other than that I have no complaints really, I just want the gun port whistle in the P-51 back.

Game update loaded flawlessly on my 'non steam' installation.

With the updated Normal spotting, you'll be surprised at what you come across now when flying.

 

Had quite a surprise on the Stalingrad Scripted missions where by when just about to start flying patrol over the battle ravaged city, I look up and lo and behold, a flight of German fighters.  I keep my eye on them, they are heading in the opposite direction to my flight and they didn't see us, so I continued with my flight to the Patrol Point and become engaged in a massive furball near the deck on the Southern part of Stalingrad.

 

This is a great update for spotting and much welcomed. ?

Best sim keeps on getting better.
