A short promotional film encouraging pilots to enlist in Jasta 5's 'Black September' campaign. Places are limited, enlist now to avoid disappointment. 

 

If anyone else wants to upload their pics or videos from the campaign, it might be a good idea to keep them in one place, like on this post?

It might have only been a server stress test, but there were some exciting fights!

 

I noticed quite a few pilots joining the server and leaving after a minute or too, if you didn't, you need to get on discord to find out what's going on. When the campaign starts for real, assignments are given out on discord, and the team commander needs to know how many  pilots are available, and what missions are successful.

 

S! to the pilots I was fighting against, and thx to J2 Drookasi for his assistance.

 

There's still time to enlist.

Opening minutes of the Saturday test. My brother Kotori and I got into a scrap with J5_Daedallus and later J5_Rumey while escorting the recon flight near the northern objective. Salute for a great fight! Thanks to the team for putting this together!

Took a bit longer than I thought to edit this together. I'm still learning and tweaking both my recording software (live recording while flying in VR) and my editing software (so I can balance volume of game, mic, and discord).

The second stress test was just as exciting as the 1st. It was a difficult job deciding which scenes to use without making the film too long, there was a lot on the cutting room floor!

 

 

This made the cut because it tells a story

 

 

No unlucky pilots are shown in personal skins to avoid any misunderstandings, I always try to guarantee anonymity.

Unfortunately lost some good footage because of the game deciding to crash on me (I think a balloon catching on fire was the culprit), but here it is!

So that's where you Bosche types think the front is! No wonder the skies are so empty over No Man's Land ?

The funny thing is, with the unedited footage I had been keeping that course for quite a while...we must have both been flying practically wingtip to wingtip, completely oblivious of each other lol!

Kotori and I have been editing footage recorded from Black September. We'll be posting each sortie as we finish them. The first set of sorties comes from the second server test, though I will cover all events I participate in. In this sortie, Kotori and I attempt to both perform the Photo Recon and destroy the Observation Outpost in Zone B. Many thanks to those who made this event possible, and everyone who flew with and against us.

Here's episode 2! Also filmed during the second server test,this one picks up where the first one left off, and includes an attack and dogfight at the Observation Post in B.

 

Are you guys able to tell the difference between Kotori's perspective and mine? I'm trying to make a skin that is easy to tell the difference from the cockpit, but I've never made a skin before.

An idea to differentiate between you and your brothers cockpit might be to use different cockpit photos? Or one uses aldis sight, the other doesn't?

Some footage of a rare event in Black September, an aggressive strike by the Central fighters of Sector B spearheaded by J5 Mueller, at the enemies balloon which was attempting to spy on us. It turned into a whirling furball in no time, but it was a case of everyone East full throttle, once the balloon was down.

I was referring to the Camel pilot who kept his machine in the air for longer than I would have thought possible, he had no wings on the left, and a collapsed wing with no struts on the right, if he hadn't hit the barbed wire fences, he might have survived, it amazed me anyway. I was not being facetious.

and I made this film as it shows a Bristol pilot making it really difficult to attack him, my guess is, he was sneakily trying to find our rail bridge for if and when phase 4 started.

Here is the final video from the second server test. I still have video from the actual event to go through, but my original plan of doing an episode for every flight was a bit ambitious and can be a bit boring. I am going to have to change up my editing a bit and cut some of the boring sorties to get through the rest of the event.
