Dang I gotta check, can't remember if I pre-ordered this one or not.

Brilliant work @Gambit21 and all of the gang that added the immersion!!  I just finished the first mission and wanted to hop out of the VR cockpit and report in.

Is there a way to turn the radio chatter off in the startup config file, so I don't have to turn the volume down every time I start the game?  Lazy of me, I know.

 

Also, is there a way to adjust the volume of the custom audio calls independently of the game volume?  To put it another way, can I adjust the volume of the custom radio calls relative to the engine volume?

 

@Gambit21thank you for the amazingly immersive experience!  The attention to detail and the custom radio calls . . . brilliant.

Negative - they’re not independently adjustable. Through trial and error I arrived at a volume that works for most guys at the default global volume setting.

I have waited for an official P-47 campaign ever since the release of BOBP. I played the first 6 missions and will continue. Some comments so far:

 

1) Some good mission variation so far

 

2) I pick Bendix for every mission, but I would appreciate if it was used by the missions. Make the home airfield a radio homing location, and I will be happy with a working Bendix.

 

3) Many targets in the ground pounding missions, which is always a plus. I also appreciate that no loadouts are locked from use. Thus I always pick the heaviest loadout =D.

 

4) Radio voice lines are unique and make this campaign a special one. However, I would like to have subtitles to go along with them.

 

5) Mission 6 has a potential waypoint bug. After all enemy fighters have been shot down, all friendlies (both P-47s and P-51s) start to circle the original target area at altitude of 3000-4000 meters. A waypoint is located below them close the ground (at 800-900 meters), but no aircraft shows any attempt to reach that waypoint. So I had to cruise alone all the way to my base. After landing I checked my friendlies with Shift+F2, and they were still circling that area, soon running out of fuel ?

 

I will probably post some additional comments after finishing the campaign, but I can safely say at this point that these kind of quality single player missions are always welcome.

Not historical or required. Vectors were given by Sweepstakes.

Not possible for reasons I won’t spin on here.

Side effect is even better immersion without the text on the screen.

First time I’ve heard this.

If you run the mission again and it still occurs let me know

Hi,

What is the average length of the missions?
I want to play this campaign but in the store page I see that one mission can take 1.5 hours?

50 - 55 minutes average I think.

Some longer, or a bit shorter.

In mission 7 after downed enemy planes,  all p47 circling in the area2226, north of bonn airfield but no reaction, how repeat leader command?

Yeah - the “go home” waypoint isn't connected it seems. I’m looking into it today. Thanks.

? I forgot to buy this. 
 

I went on spending 119 bucks on a civ sim for having nothing to do , totally forgetting about this campaign. 
How I longed for a real P 47 scripted campaign.

Is this the setting that increases/decreases the volume of the in-game chatter?  If yes, is there a maximum it can go to?

Yes, that's what it does.

It goes up to 11...

Started flying this. I got to mission 2 and when I zoom in on the ground targets they disappear. So I guess this is problem with IL2 that everyone is complaining about.

Define “too long”

 

Clarify “no command” - you mean no call from Lead for take off?

Yes,  i was blue three, roll to the runway,  but no command to take off. 

I waited longer than 20 minutes.

In the meantime if someone else could report on mission 4 (long wait, no radio call) I’d appreciate it.

 

Been working properly as far as I’m aware.

It works fine for me on the latest version.

 

Perhaps something could go wrong if you don't wait for your flight to start taxiing?

You could break the logic by getting in Lead’s way (or too close to him) so that he couldn’t move or seen simply preventing the taxi logic from working.

I had the same AI issue with Mission 7, all the planes circle and circle just north of the waypoint, I hung out with them for a few laps but when it was apparent they were stuck in a loop I broke off and flew home while I had enough fuel.

 

I have to say this is another fine campaign, the immersion is great, the missions fun and varied and I like how you can finish the mission even after something goes wrong... speaking of which, any tips to not overcool the engine during a descent? Cowl flaps are closed but she chills down anyway and one time it wrecked the engine and put me down in a field short of the runway

Everyone will have this issue until the mission is updated, tested and resubmitted.

On the mission selection screen, under the "Realism" tab at the bottom right, make sure you have "Warmed Up Engine" checked. It's a known issue with the P-47 on winter maps when the ambient temperature is below freezing. It's been that way since release.

Running mods? I havent mods. The second flight of this mission was take off ok.

Maybe you are too far from the leader. I have that issue sometimes. I was waiting for command to take off and nothing happened. Just hit the autopilot key and bingo. It moves closer for one or two meters, letting number 4 moving to his take off mark and the command went immediately. Or you came too close of the leader, so you are not on your mark.

take off logic needs you and your wingmen on your precise mark, so if you wait too far away or too close of the départ Line, you block the logic.

sometimes, just giving the autopilot the possibility to put you on the right lane is the solution.

Second take off, was ok, no, i was on the right place as 3th, the same as the "no take off mission". mission for today is "Bastogne"!

Thanks for the reply. Watched the trailer and bought the DLC.
So far completed 3 missions. With the voice of the wingmen and airfield the flight does not seem so boring, so the time flies faster.

 

Some feedback:

  1. Sometimes, mission two for example, its not so much clear what targets I should prioritize first.
  2. Mission 3, it seems like my wingmen mostly were shooting empty area at the center of the airfield where the two enemy transport planes were already destroyed. It was really rare when they were shooting at the board of the airfield where the ammo and trucks were located. Any chance some objects were not visible for me and my wingmen selected them as a target?

 

Played with Headphones + DAC and could hear most of the voices very clearly without modifying the radio sound.
After this campaign its harder to play the others, you set a new bar for campaign quality. ?

On Mission 3 there are a lot of Ju52 planes on the field which are not marked by icons and a little hard to see through the hazy weather, they seem to be shooting at them

I dont thin use this Hell Hawks campaign, but if its possible making some similar campaign, if it's realistic, to fly a similar mission with virtual colleagues. Multiplayer but with a prescribed scenario, goals, route. How works the coop left of MP button? load some campaign and use for coop? Thank you.

Bastogne mission was hell:)
