ScotsmanFlyingscotsman Posted July 9, 2020 Posted July 9, 2020 haha just wondered if a skin had been done, ?
Blitzen Posted July 9, 2020 Author Posted July 9, 2020 After choosing the Razorback a little after my first post , I did find there were a number of skin choices that were ‘unofficial”.All good, for sure! I do look forward to more cheesecake nose art over the next month or so, until the skinning community ( god bless them) turn their attention to the upcoming American aircraft for the Battle of Normandy, namely the Razorback P-51 and the flyable (?) B-25 ( maybe even the AI C-47 & B-26non flyable for the time being-who knows?)

Mysticpuma Posted July 16, 2020 Posted July 16, 2020 (edited) Should anyone be interested in creating a pack of skins, the 325th Fighter Group had a group of Pilots known as the "Fearsome Foursome". George Novotny - #27 "Ruthless Ruthie" on the port side and "Lady Janie IV" on the Starboard side. Edsel Paulk who flew #33 "Little Sir Echo" Herschel Green who flew #11 with the noseart of a cowgirl on the port side Cecil O Dean who flew #17 - noseart on the starboard side of a big cat eating a Messerschmitt. Cheers, Mysticpuma Edited July 17, 2020 by Mysticpuma
[-=BP=-]Slegawsky_VR Posted July 17, 2020 Posted July 17, 2020 These are really good pictures! Would you mind sharing your resources? Been working on some weathering layers and couldnt find any decent size pics of after mission P47s, stencils and crew lists are really cool too.

He was born in Warsaw. After ending his second RAF tour in January 1944, Gladych, along with fellow Pole Flt Lt. Witold Lanowski, arranged a wholly unofficial secondment to the 56th Fighter Group of the U.S. Army Air Forces in early 1944. Recruited by Major Francis Gabreski of the 56th, who as a captain had previously been attached to the RAF Polish Fighter Wing in 1942, Gladych helped organized battle training for American replacement pilots, and was assigned to Gabreski's 61st Fighter Squadron. On 21 February 1944 Mike downed 2 Bf-109s in a single sortie. He nicknamed the numerous P-47's assigned to him Pengie, after the nickname of his then girlfriend, a Canadian WAAF, continuing the series up to Pengie V as he received newer aircraft. The name included a cartoon image of a penguin on the left side of the engine cowling. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1g9BizhrNLml_LWx7oskg3bT0m1ceSHVs/view?usp=sharing https://drive.google.com/file/d/1GKQhllrw61W-I3SgTPMCOLfIEDr9aQOh/view?usp=sharing Edited July 22, 2020 by [Pb]Slegawsky_VR link 4 1

Yardstick Posted July 22, 2020 Posted July 22, 2020 (edited) Lovely work ? I spotted a couple of minor errors - you left out the serial numbers on QP-M? Easy to miss when you are concentrating on the more interesting bits ? On Squirt II - the best image I can find (below) suggests that the crew chief (c/c not s/s) was S/Sgt. G. W. Ebhard not Klahani Edited July 22, 2020 by Yardstick Update 1
E69_julian57 Posted July 22, 2020 Posted July 22, 2020 Hi @Yardstick OK thanks for the clarification, I found it difficult to decipher the text, the rest I don't know if it will be OK. I'll change it.

Hello, That's why I make my skins available on the "Axis and Allies" site, it avoids malware with "mediafire". http://axis-and-allies-paintworks.com/news.php

Taurus Posted September 19, 2020 Posted September 19, 2020 (edited) 4th FG 336th FS. 1943 I have been able to verify all serials issued except for VF-Z. There is one serial not allocated to a squadron airframe which I can only attribute to the missing VF-Z. Every single other airframe tallies. I do have one photo of VF-Z in the background unfortunately it is the starboard side (No noseart) and blurred that the serial cannot be resolved. If anyone has info to clarify the mystery Z airframe it would be greatly appreciated if they could they could post or PM me with the missing details. THANKS!
