Was there any improvements brought to AI target selections in ground attack missions? I've been bugging devs with this lately, made bug reports and sent tracks to show that AI wingmen will too often prioritize soft targets such as AA with their bombs before engaging hard targets with their guns, making the attack run a complete failure.

 

Was this corrected in any way? I don't see anything in the patch notes. Makes me hesitant to buy the IL-2 campaign.

And they will also all target the same AA gun with their first run most of the time.

 

7x 1000lbs bombs to destroy a single AA gun. Ok.

The AI is improved with 4.008. Its still very flawed but a step in the right direction was made. 

 

But sometimes, you play this game and ask yourself how would Oswald Boelcke react watching the AI fly....

I think the AI dont chase you over 500km until you reach your airfield anymore or until they run out of fuel. Thats a start.

In the Spitfire scripted campaign, the start from the parking is already working fine for AI. Why not to allow this for the career mode too?

Probably because it took the mission designer 1000 hrs to make it work correctly ?

SYN_Vander is the master here, ME guru I say, he knows whats he is talking about ;)

 

And of course, he is right!! It took me hours of work to make everything work properly, taxing too. Note that there are some missions where I couldnt make it work as I wanted so those ones got runway starts ;)
