When will they be included? Or will it take years like the release of the Tobruk module.

They will be included at launch.

Numerous campaigns and single missions will be included. SP users will have plenty to do :)

Mate, I hear your words...?  But maybe one of you should then change the misleading anoucment text ASAP to avoid such "PR miscommunications"

Peace and looking forward to the final release.

We’ve worked on campaigns and single missions too, so don’t worry, you’ll have plenty to do offline.

Are they scripted campagins or 'career' ones please?

That is good to hear.  Will the campaigns be scripted?  I am hoping something more dynamic like the BOX career mode.  The problem with scripted campaigns is once I complete all the missions there is nothing else to do.  I do enjoy scripted campaigns but only a dynamic career mode provides long term re-playability.  I will definitely buy if there is a dynamic career mode not so sure I will if only scripted campaigns are provided.  Would apricate more specific details regarding this.

Very happy this is finally happening.

I guess it has been a long hard road for TF to get there.

The day VR support is added, I'm definitely in!

Well... Everything I’d normally do on Canada Day is not happening today☹️.

But after waking up and hearing this announcement, it has made my day?. I will totally spend the $ on this, I hear it’s $70 US with a 15% discount on the first week.

Thank so much to everyone at Team Fusion for this, even though the release hasn’t happened yet, I am grateful for your work and wish the best of luck in the future.

Salute.

Wow! This is so beautiful and with so many interesting aircraft! The med and NA is also my favorite theater... :yahoo:

...but I'm afraid I can´t buy it until it gets VR support. It´s a shame, I really want this piece of eye candy!

Same here in Niagara. Waking up to this news and then getting a Lancaster flyby courtesy of Vera and the CWHM is as good, if not better than any other Canada Day for me.

Happy Canada Day my fellow Canuck!

Congratulations to Team Fusion and 1C on achieving this milestone!  Way to go!

For those who don't know, Team Fusion began as a mod team for the original Il2:  Cliffs of Dover, and while that sim had some great things in it, Team Fusion stepped in to continue bug fixing and development that otherwise would have stopped completely.  They started as enthusiastic volunteers from this community (our online family of fellow simmers).  If you believe in supporting this effort and the people who support them (Jason and members of his team) then give serious thought to a purchase.  You would be supporting our own.

I am not a member of Team Fusion or a rep of 1C - Just a simmer like the rest of you.  I know most of you are already aware of this, but I post this for those who may not know where this effort stems from or why it is a major milestone.

Oh, where's my buy now button?

OK thanks, that's a real shame, pretty gutted to be honest.

I don't understand why a decent career mode comes last in flight sims these days.

Yeah, my urgency to buy has dropped from 9/10 to about 2/10. I suppose at least I can keep my money in my pocket for a bit longer!

Guys its been a long hard road , now just about there.

I have always followed the updates because I was always going to buy the finished product.

Iam sure VR won't be far off for this product.

This theatre North Africa apart from some representation as extras to IL2 1946 has certainly never been done to this level.

This is one simmer in heaven.

Same here.  Such a shame since team Fusion does such great work.  Devs need to understand that SP should provide unlimited re-playability just like MP.  If limited to scripted missions only might as well skip SP altogether.  If they add a dynamic career mode in the future (or someone does a mod) I will buy otherwise no go.

Okay, I´ve seen the price tag on Steam about $69.99 USD (with a 15% discount at launch)

Will the users who already own CoD Bliz get a seperate discount?  I´m a poor men and Seventy bucks is a hard hit in my wallet ?

Guys. IL-2 GBs didn’t have a Pilot Career to begin with as well. Until Battle of Kuban was fully released, which was in mid-March 2018, all there was were Campaigns as your Pilot Career, not Scripted Campaigns, but just Campaigns. There was Battle of Stalingrad Part 1 and Part 2, and Battle of Moscow, where one could select an available plane in any squadron, do a mission and gain experience and medals, and then after the mission, you could select another available plane in another squadron.

Unlike now where you select a plane and squadron and stick with that until the squadron acquires another plane or you switch to another squadron with a different plane.

How will technical support be handled? In other words, where does the buck stop?

Considering that Cliffs was oficially incomplete and abandoned since release, and everything up to now has been done by Team Fusion volunteers for free it's a bargain. I hear you. but we've had a totally free ride for a long time and it's only fair. I'm out of work due to Covid, but I'll go without other things if needed to enjoy and support this.

Better be happy to get some single player content et all. Even if it´s scripted campaigns. I´m sure the modding community will hop in and will make the dynamic Mission/Campaign stuff possible like they did it for CoD Blitz in the past.

It seems to me a tad excessive, for a mod of a game from 10 years ago. I do not doubt that it can be a great game, but without vr and at that price, it is not for me. Same if one day it comes out with vr, I would think about it but not at that price. I will keep waiting for the hyppe to finish and see how it evolves.

Hello Team Fusion and thanks for all the work!

I will buy as soon as it is out...

...and then leave it aside till VR is supported (yeah, I am afraid I am part of the "no VR no play" gang ?).

But hereby I declare that as soon as VR is supported, I will buy additional five copies and donate them here on this forum!

???

Diky jeste jednou a hodne zdaru do finale!

I thought there had been mention of a new weather system at some time past. Has that been implemented in Blitz already or will appear once TF 5.0 is released?

I was stopped dead in my tracks by the price.

I have kept CloD Blitz on my computer in anticipation of this release, but at that price point, a DLC pack for a very old game just doesn't seem like good value for money.

Every single one of my old flying buddies has had the same reaction.  We have gone from a "wait and see" stance, to a complete stand down, and these are guys that own every single edition of BoX, and a few of us still have the original IL2 installed.

A pity.

I know.

BoS as it was released, CLoD back in the day, now this,... it just baffles me when apparently the majority of people are SP users.

And the truth is I simply won't have the urge to buy this for sime time, why would I when BoX has PWCG.

In BoX and across CloD it seems it is more about shiny new planes, and going online than any gaming experience. WoTR know how to do it, but their engine is far too old as it stands for me, PWCG knows how to do it but is doing things out of the goodness of his own heart so it seems (without PWCG BoX would be sorely lacking).

90% of a WWII flight sim for me is an open career, it seems TF are of a dfferent opinion. The 'problem' is I know I can get more hours of SP fun in other games for that price and that is what I will most likely end up spending my money on. I would pay the $70 for a single aircraft with an engaging SP open campaign, but that doesn't seem to be the marketable thing these days I guess.

Really happy about this news.

I will buy it at release with pleasure.

Even if i own a HP Reverb, I don't care about VR (SA killer in my opinion) and I continu to fly on flat screen in DCS, BOS and ClODo.

Long life to IL-2 Sturmovik: Desert Wings  !! ?

I have been considering getting CLoD especially since the base game is so cheap so spending $40 USD for Desert Wings seems totally doable but have heard that AMD cards are problematic.

Is that true or have any issues been addressed?

I too, like others, would rather see all of my money go to the game developers instead a cut going to Steam which I've never been fond of and in my experiences with the guys I fly with, some of whom have Steam versions of IL-2 can be frustrating.  But ya gotta go with what ya got.

We aren’t of a different opinion, but it is difficult to create a fully functioning career mode.

Hmm, I hope so. I don't share your confidence right now though. And, I'm not exactly weeping into a bottle of Gin, just disappointed is all.

It feels like as someone who primarly wants SP fun, it takes a lot of waiting, hoping and reliance on modders to get things for SP. It just gets a bit tiring.

A dynamic campaign generator would meet my needs, however I’ll probably buy it for the Gladiator and Wimpey..There is a ”dynamic mission by theOden” for Blitz that generates a new mission after each sortie that is good (albeit without the immersion provided by PWCG, vanilla career in BOX etc). This will hopefully be adapted for Desert Wings. Hopefully the AI is better..we’ll se. I will not buy until there are some reviews..

We have been testing it for a while and rather than delay the release, we will have it in a patch post release. It is close but we only have a handful of people in TFS, and of that handful, only a couple who can work on the system but they have been needed for helping import/animate all the new aircraft/objects/ships/ so on.

It looks great right now, so further tweaking and optimization will be worth the wait.

Nothing is wrong with us.  Different people have different preferences.  I prefer dynamic SP not MP or scripted SP.  I will not buy a product that does not interest me.  Just that simple.  Hopefully you can come to terms with this.

Fair enough, but that doesn't sound promising but I'll try not to read too much into it ;).

There used to be a DCG for Clod back in the day hopefully something like that surfaces again.

As much as I appreciate the hard work and dedication that went into this release.

I can't understand the decision to continue to support ClOD, flat out refusing to touch the theatres for BoX and splitting the Playerbase over 2 product lines, is a massive bummer to me. Seems to me that it's just leaving money on the table.

I'll think about buying this, if the horrible UI and key binding is fixed and if and when it gets VR.

Yes for me too, especially since there isn't a proper SP to be had in CLoD, so the arguement of it being kept apart because of competition is not correct for SP.

MP yes they of course compete, and there lies my impression that MP runs things in both CloD and BoX and SP picks out what scraps it can.
