Pimax should make their headsets so that they work in games normally. All other does that.

1 hour ago, LLv24_Zami said:

It`s not best possible. It doesn`t work. As I said above, there`s also responsibility on Pimax to make their gear work in different games.

It`s just pity that good things are unused because few people have some garbage headsets.

I'd like to take this opportunity to remind the VR community not to rise to bait and trolling like the above.

Whoever this person is, they clearly either know jack-all about how VR works or are just trying to get a rise out of VR fliers. I think it's a real shame that someone spewing uninformed crap like this gets any air time whatsoever, but unfortunately the Internet is the great equalizer. Oh well. Best not to engage.

As Talon has said, if you don't agree with a server's policies, don't fly there. I know some people who avoid Wings because they think the skin locking is too draconian. There are several people in this thread who are clearly very worried about ReShade abusers, so I guess they won't be flying on Combat Box or Finnish. That's fine. Choice is good. Do what makes you happy.

Nice offer! Thx!

But this is the only server, that will crash the game to desktop after some minutes of gamepaly... so NOGO for me!

This means one of your Bodenplatte assets is not loading correctly, as they are the majority of the assets we use. Verify your game files.

It`s me!

It clearly pisses you off that you do not represent not even nearly the majority of the MP flyers when using VR and especially Pimax. It`s understandable, people are so tender these days.

I`ve had Rift and Rift S and it worked fine. As does every other headset at the moment apart from Pimax. It is a fact.

As I said above, I know I have a choice. But I am entitled to my opinion even if it`s not same as yours. If you have something personal against me, hit me with a PM.

I dont think more durable but more realistic and harder to hit, I mean what are the chances a cable is hit? not as many  as before which is good.

Well said, and good move, I dont care about cheaters one bit (think they are losers and will always cheat) some people are pretending they are the police now, questioning Reshade , zooms , Migoto,  and asking for explanations, who cares, cheaters will always cheat, iits just a video game, not a world cup, dont let cheaters ruin it for the rest.

If you have an NVIDIA card it might be worth checking to see if it's using full dynamic range or not in the control panel, sometimes it defaults to a limited colour range

this only work with video file or apps like VLC and stream service like Netflix it have no affect on games that's why its says VIDEO not 3D APPLICATION

You’re entitled to an opinion, sadly yours is based on something other than the facts. The reason canted displays don’t work on some games is because the game assumes head position and gaze (eye position) are the same. This is not true for canted displays. Even the Valve Index requires games to be updated for it to work without parallel projection.

But carry on spewing toxicity based on your poorly-informed opinion rather than actual facts and information, it makes you easier for the rest of us to ignore.

Yeah, it`s sad that the Pimax owners arent`t the only ones entitled to post on this forum.

Devs have used much resources to please VR users considering how niche it still is. Nothing seems to be enough when dealing with all canted displays and stuff. Rift was designed the way that it is plug and play. There`s something to learn to others as well.

About my opinion, I was referring to your decision not to use reject injector option based on few unworkable Pimax headsets. And they really are a few even among the VR users who are happily flying. Just expressed my opinion about not taking every measure available to make as even gameplay as possible when it is given. It seems to butthurt a few Pimax flyers. Well, that`s how it is and it`s fine.

Carry on with your besserwissering.

When I complain to a friend about the "fog" on the map, tell him that he doesn't have one on his screen.

I'm tired of flying with a permanent white veil whatever the weather conditions.

Set the viewing distance higher.  Start at 100km and see what happens.

You can also disable bloom in the startup.cfg file but then you have to make the file read only and that is a pain because you have to remove the read only bit every time you want to tweak something.

I just put 2 passes on a Bf-110 and gave it a couple leaks, it was still able to prop hang at 150m and pull out of it while my P-51 stalled out and hit the ground..

There is a problem with German DM's.

This type of War Thunder crap needs to be addressed... The Bf-110 was pulled from the Battle of Britain, yet it's one of the best dogfighters in this game..... Our patience is running really, really low. I hate to sound bias, but the German planes completely float, have no torque effect, and have no damage effect. You can be hit on your right wing, then you're left, and you're 100% maneuverable again.

The Mustang is nearly 100kmh faster than the 110g2, and if he is turning hard, he'll kill the rest of the speed. Don't be so eager to do a cartoon dogfight with him, do high speed passes and don't do the turning and climbing thing until you're way out of reach. Also, if you don't kill the pilot or cause a catastrophic explosion or fire, expect a 110 to be viable in a fight.

A 110 is *not* the best dogfighter in the game.

Do you see double FPS counter? How to have the one only, as it was?

That second number is not an FPS counter, it is a FOV angle counter.  They are hoping to use this to get new info on spotting problems I believe.

Spotting is one of the greatest sides of the two latest versions btw. It's working very well for me, I'm happy with it. No need for extra work with the settings, just 4xmsaa with ultra is fine.

Hold up a second, please.   I have an HP reverb, and ReShade has never worked with it.  Are you saying that prior ot the 4.007 update, you got ReShade to work in VR with the HP Reverb?

I'm reluctant to believe that too. I've been seacrhing for VR Compatible Reshade version at some point and all information I found were that it's not working and that the reshade dev is not doing it for VR.

VR is niche, but not among PC users playing flight and racing sims. I give it less than a month before WoL reverses course and allows injectors or becomes a ghost town. Not that I care; I haven't played there since Combat Box hit it's stride.

Fix 2d zoom so its speed when set to 100% and 0 inertia is the same as predefined zoom levels or make to predefined zoom levels keys to work like toggle not when pressed.

100 % agree :good: !  Got this impression from other flight sim forums as well.

But VR people in general - allthough the minority - are the loudest at screaming if something goes against the grain for them.

A very happy TrackIR user;  who still won't sit with clumsy, overpriced and ridiculous looking diving goggles on the schnoz in front of his PC.

Love how people take sides and shout. /s

You'd think that we'd all want the sim to improve and offer a great experience for both setups .. VR or Infrared tracking.  Being divissive about this doesn't help the community.

Facts.

  • Rift CV1 and other "gen 1" headsets are 4 years old. For the VR industry to continue to innovate, there are constant changes in VR specifications, libraries, and so on. Supporting VR is similar to supporting any other hardware device, such as a graphics card. Standards evolve, and part of the job of a software developer is to keep up with those standards (or choose not to, and to limit the hardware with which that software works).
  • Valve Index has 5 degree canted displays to increase FOV and immersion. For older games, the Index also needs the equivalent of parallel projection. With just a 5 degree difference between the panels, however, the Index PP doesn't have as much as a performance hit as for Pimax, but it's still needed.
  • Next generation headsets are going to add even more features that require software support, such as dynamic foveated rendering. This will reduce overall hardware requirements and make VR more accessible to more people, which is a good thing. But games will need to be updated to support these new techniques.
  • Half Life Alyx added nearly a million VR users in a very short period of time. There is clearly a growing market for VR.
  • Simulators, especially flight sims, tend to attract enthusiasts who treat the sim as a hobby, and are willing to spend money on their hobby. Just look at the hardware subforum to see people spending $500 on sticks and pedals and upwards of $250 for custom throttle units from that talented GVL chap. People with money to spend on hardware are also people with money to spend on DLC for their favorite game.

I'm not criticizing the game developers here. Pimax absolutely is a niche product within a niche area. I'm not at all surprised that we need a canted display workaround, and VREM does a good job and there's no problem here. But the monitor pilots flinging mud at the VR community should pause for half a second and look at which way the wind is blowing. The VR experience in IL2 is mindblowingly good and more and more people are discovering it each week. It seems very silly for people in the community to perpetuate some kind of VR/not-VR schism.

At the end of the day, server admins are going to choose how to run their server, same way they always did. We have a new option now, which is a good thing. A couple of people have made comments implying they won't fly on Combat Box any more. That's ok, I'm sure the other 4,275 pilots will be fine if we lose a couple.

You’re right - I shouldn’t have used the word durable - obviously I can’t see if and when they are being hit outside of the final damage effect.  I was just trying to say that the control cables/rods aren’t getting knocked out at the rate they were previously.

Enter the game with headtracking off, start on the ground, use the pilot head movement keys to set the head in what you feel is the ideal position, then press F10 to save the head position for that aircraft.

that doesn't answer my question, is not realistic that the pilot head as default have the reticle in the eye

This is why they placed the reticle a little to the right.
I would be careful stating what is realistic if you know as little as you show by this remark. You can not state devs do not do their research. Try to prove your point by historical facts

Um, your question was "how do I fix that". I thought you wanted to know how to change the pilot head position? Once you save the head position it becomes the default every time you start the plane. So it fixes the issue. Unless F10 is not saving it for you?

You're darn tootin'!  It's all a passing fad that will be over as soon as those silly kids realize the error of their ways.  By crackey, they're almost as bad as those other crazy teens with their loud rock and roll music and their silly head tracking gear, wearing clumsy, overpriced and ridiculous looking reflector clips on their domes in front of their PC's, turning the heads of their virtual pilots around in the cockpit 180 degrees with a flick of the neck, like Linda Blair was flying their aero-plane or something.

Bigod, in my day we used real CRT monitors, not even any of the of this flat-panel or curved screen nonsense you see people carrying on about nowadays, but real honest monochrome equpment you could count on, unless you were one of those rich fellas up on the hill with your CGA monitor.  Before that, we had to identify enemy aircraft and targets, heck even our whole location and aircraft orientation, without any monitor at all, but by  plugging in an oscilloscope directly to the DMA controller of our computers and analyzing the signal freqency and strength at the memory locations we found using a hex dump.  And we were happy to have those tools!

Yessir, I give this whole newfangled idear of staring at a monitor wearing crazy stuff on your head and listening' to that hip-hop music and readin' them innernet foorums about another month before all these nutty kids wake up and start to act their age.

I noticed that too - was flying duels in my LA5FN against some FW190D9 over Bonn and noticed the same, especially when leaning forward or

Definitely understand the Pimax part.

I also agree that it's not MLG. I don't care about my stats and never look at them, just fly for the fun.

However, there is a clear risk of things not being fun if a large part of the crowd starts 'enhancing' their skills. Time will tell.
