Since 3DMig is now defunct, I can't for the life of me remember whether there's a way to enable/disable that transparent mask that obscure the icons at the center of your vision on stock VR. It's always enabled in my game. I kinda like the icons on tank crew when I play offline. Is there a key that does that? Thanks.

Nobody? Anybody?

Anybody remembers the keystroke on 3DMigoto to make the icons disappear/reappear behind obstacles? Maybe that would fix it.

I have a switch mapped on my throttle to toggle the overlay info and the icon on/off.  I mapped it in game in the controls assignment section.

Would that help?

None of the additional options from the migoto mod of course are available atm.  I am pretty sure there are icon mods around here somewhere, but that is only useful for either offline or icons on servers to my knowledge.  Limited as it may be.

@JG51_Beazil: Unfortunately, I didn't map it on my HOTAS  so I couldn't remember which keystroke was responsible for it.

Left Control I ?

Mapped mine to HOTAS also.

@TWC_Sp00k @JG51_Beazil : Thank you for your help, guys. I really appreciate it.

Left Ctrl I didn't work. So did LShift F10, which I found out was the keystroke for 3DMigoto. The H and I keys are default game keys that I'm aware of. That wasn't the problem. The problem is that there's a transparent mask that makes the icons vanish at a certain angle. Here's a video I captured to better illustrate the problem. Both aerial and ground targets are affected. I'm thinking that it's somehow related to a remnant file from 3DMigoto.

The thing is, I use JGSME to install and uninstall mods. I even completely uninstalled and reinstalled the game. Still.

Haha! Damn AI.
Yeah, I know. That was unfortunate.

The problem doesn't exist in  the game's native recorder. Only when on VR so I made a direct screen capture.

I wonder whether there's a file that remained modified or uninstalled when I uninstalled it via JSGME. But like I said, I even did a complete reinstall. You don't have any of this problem?

I honestly didn't notice one.  I admit I can be thick.

Wonder if its related to the skin layers.  Some of the additional layers, yellow dust, grime and a couple of others are sprayed across the affected layer (or rather positioned above the cockpit layer) hence seeming to cover the cockpit Perspex. Hardly noticeable flying ingame but evident when working with the layers themselves. It may be part of the problem

Oh... I've seen that one happen while I was tweaking stuff yesterday. I wish I could remember which setting it was that causes it. But it was definitely a config setting that caused it; I was tweaking stuff in nvidia control panel, startup.cfg and opencomposite.ini but i think it was something in one of the first two.

Well done!

I also fixed mine earlier. I made a backup of the entire folder before the last major patch. I copied and edited the old startup.cfg and it worked.

I posted the exact fix the above solutions post but here it is again for everyone else. No need to replace your entire config file and loose all of your settings.

Open in a text editor \steamapps\common\IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\data\startup.cfg

Under [KEY = graphics]

change

rescale_target = .50000

to

rescale_target = 1.00000
