After deleting the entire campaign and reinstalling the latest version I could successfully finish the first mission. I don't know how often I flew this mission, after 25 attempts I stopped counting. ? Nevertheless I enjoyed every single flight! Now I'm happily looking forward to the missions to come. Excellent. Glad to hear it. Enjoy the Campaign. Tip
RelentlessJPMoney Posted April 9, 2021 Posted April 9, 2021 @[DBS]Tx_Tip Just wanted to say thank you for this great campaign. Much more fun than the p-51 career missions where it’s always bomber escort. Just one question, are any engine failures scripted into the campaign? I think it was mission 5 where I had just refueled and rearmed, and heading back into enemy territory my engine just died due to structural failure or some such. But I was undamaged at the time and I was managing the engine appropriately. It was the first mission you fly after Lullaby is lost. 1

Could of been a glitch with the repair function within RRR as this is still not 100% bug-free. Still get one of the bombs dropping off intermittently upon rearming for instance. Glad your enjoying the campaign. Tip 1 1
=RS=Funkie Posted May 5, 2021 Posted May 5, 2021 @[DBS]Tx_Tip Hi there! I can't seem to get your campaign working. I've downloaded the latest files, pasted them into the correct directory and let it overwrite existing files. But when I try to load the campaign, It just says "01 - LAD 1" and "Mission Description is loading" And if i hit the start button, it just flashes black then takes me to the same screen again. Any ideas?
Nadelbaum Posted May 6, 2021 Posted May 6, 2021 @=RS=Funkie I just finished this campaign on v4.601 prior to moving to Hell Hawks Over the Bulge. Here's what will work: 1) Download and install the latest campaign version (as you already did) 2) Open Il-2 mission editor (<Il-2_installation_dir>\bin\editor\STEditor) and re-save all campaign files: "Tools" dropdown menu -> "Resave All Missions in Folder" -> Select Lullaby for a Dream campaign folder -> Wait patiently for a bit of time (depending on how fast computer you have). It could take several minutes 3) Enjoy this excellent campaign! 1 1
[DBS]Tx_Tip Posted May 6, 2021 Author Posted May 6, 2021 Appreciate the kudos and giving folks the low down on resaving the campaign Nadelbaum. *What's new? Campaign has been updated. Na-zdorovie Posted May 20, 2021 Posted May 20, 2021 man thank you, loving this, great attention to little things like the Spoiler bombing of runways when your refuelling etc, and the music when landed near a RR point im still having a blast on the first mission doing all the tasks i can 1 1
Verbum_Vincet Posted May 23, 2021 Posted May 23, 2021 Talk about immersion...this campaign is nothing short of a masterpiece! Variety is the order of the day and attention to detail is outstanding. The squadron skins are a really nice touch. I especially love the flexibility in order of objective completion and the varying skill level of enemy pilots. Makes for the occasional humbling surprise and some very challenging skirmishes. Nothing quite so fun and rewarding as taking on a gaggle of G-14s and D9s (with a few 262s circling above like bloodthirsty hawks, waiting to pounce) and coming out victorious! Hadn't spent much time in the P-51, but I've grown quite fond of it thanks to this campaign. LAD really showcases the 51's many strengths and surprising versatility. It's really fast (just watch trim closely) and glides like greased lightning, even at surprisingly low MP and RPM settings. Took some getting used to, but once I stopped overshooting, I was surprised at how deadly the 6 .50s really are. They chop Luftwaffe crates to pieces and burn them to a crisp. I look for chutes and sadly, almost never see them! Was initially worried about running out of ammo and was too conservative in my shooting, but that hasn't been a problem at all. I have a newfound, thorough appreciation for this highly lethal winged beast of prey! I'd pay good money for 'Lullaby For A Dream' without hesitation, but thanks for sharing it with us for free! 1

Madov Posted July 27, 2021 Posted July 27, 2021 (edited) Hello Tip Congrats on what looks like a great campaign containing many interesting features and of course a collection of beautiful skins from Pips. As you have already stated there are different scenarios available after takeoff and I am clear in my own mind that my job is to stick with my element leader. Mission One sees us start to climb to meet the bombers and then get retasked as our airfield is being attacked by enemy fighter bombers. Our flight returns and clears the area, I get two of them and then we proceed as a flight towards the B-25's bombing objective at low altitude and once there we RTB and I land and taxi back. Mission failed! I am guessing because we didn't meet up with the bomber flight. I do get why you as the Mission designer would want to include elements of difficulty and achievement but to not be able to proceed after sticking with my flight and fighting with them and landing back at our base with them seems much too onerous and the environment becomes more of a tick-box exercise than an air campaign. You have created something really beautiful here, I love flying with these red-tailed mustangs and in VR it was a blast flying this first mission. I would be so looking forward to the projected prequel within BoN too. I just wish that by doing my job in my flight I didn't have to repeat missions. Rant over. Well done on your work but not for me in its present condition and I will be standing down from this unit and requesting a posting out. ? EDIT: If there was a way for me to remove some of the success conditions within the ME, which I am happy to use, then please advise and I will re-enlist for a second tour with the 356th FG. I am not looking for an easy ride but a more realistic and satisfying one. Many thanks. Edited July 27, 2021 by Madov
Na-zdorovie Posted July 28, 2021 Posted July 28, 2021 i take it you didnt meet up with the bombers then, after the airfield attack i met back with them at high alt and all was fine, there are some random elements so try again maybe, its well worth it, its a brilliant campaign 1

I am not looking for an easy ride but a more realistic and satisfying one. Many thanks. There are multiple ways to complete the mission. The description give hints as to what other area to go to to trigger a new mission. You would usually have to rtb or go to the auxiliary base at least once to rearm and refuel. But maybe even 2-3 times depending on how many tasks you want to accomplish. There is a minimum number of task or you have to accomplish to trigger ‘success’. I just can’t remember how many ( I think it’s in the readme file though). Just doing the airfield defence then bomber escort isn’t enough to trigger the complete (if I remember correct). this is a totally unique approach to campaigns and shouldn’t be thought of as your usual campaign. Its really awesome and one of my favourites. Rearm and refuel is a lot of fun. and remember. Text has to be turned on. Otherwise you won’t get the instructions for your next task after rearm refuel.
Madov Posted July 29, 2021 Posted July 29, 2021 Yes R&R is a great addition I agree. Not sure about this 'totally unique approach' as it means doing something that you wouldn't do in reality, in this case leave your flight and go off by yourself. If the rest of the flight had landed to rearm and then formed up to takeoff again then I would be right there with them. As I fly in VR I always fly with the Hud turned off as it is a fps killer. I am glad that others are finding it to their taste and do appreciate the hard work that goes in to create something like this.

Which is exactly what you would of done had you followed the HUD orders from HQ following the clearing of E/A from Le Culot. "Neptune Flt. RTB for Re-Arming... Standby for orders." You could of stayed with your Flt. leader, landed with the flight just as you mentioned in the OP. Then entered the South Ramp Rearm-Refueling area at Le Culot which is pictured per the Readme. Where you would of received your orders: "Recon Reports Armored Units Genk. Sector 2014. Take off and form up with Neptune Green Flt. @ 3000ft. inflight." In other words had you followed orders as per the HUD you would of landed, then taxied to the rearm, refueling area on the south ramp. Took-off and joined up with an attack upon armor and installations at Genk. Achieved mission success and returned to Le Culot with Neptune Green Flight as ordered by the Green Flight leader. Btw subsequent missions at Le Culot and Asch along with the RRR facility at St. Trond do indeed have flights forming up and taking off again to strike objectives. "totally unique approach"? LoL. Find me another BoX Campaign which uses Rearm-Refuel, then launches a complete new flight or flights for you to coordinate with in flying a sortie to a separate set of random objectives. I'm all ears. However your right it's not for everyone. And certainly not created with VR in mind. In fact I created Lullaby for a Dream for the way I enjoy flying SP. So no, can't give you the way to circumvent the effort, ME logic understanding and technique it took to create the campaign. Good Luck in your virtual flying, Tip 2

Na-zdorovie Posted July 30, 2021 Posted July 30, 2021 when i fist played mission 1, as in the rest by the way, i was just having so much fun, its not a simple go here do this mission, you can land, re arm go do something else, i attacked the arty that was blowing up our airfield, its like this is great, like it might have been or prob was in real life. to me it even meant if i failed or re started a mission, i could actually change something for the better, please, or pretty please, keep making these type of campaigns, so engaging and you get fully into them, so big thanks from me 1 1
Spidey002 Posted August 7, 2021 Posted August 7, 2021 I can’t seem to get the rearming to work. I parked in the designated area at Le Culot, but my keybinds for rearm didn’t work. Switched to unlimited ammo. Got the mission to Genk, completed, and was flying home when the game crashed.

Tip Definitely turned off my engine at the designated area in Le Culot. Still couldn’t get rearm/refuel to work. This was after defending the airfield from an attack. Is it possible that the Huns destroyed the field’s rearm capability?
Na-zdorovie Posted August 8, 2021 Posted August 8, 2021 also keep a listen out for music when you are close, you get a notification when your in the right spot, which can be close depending on your angle towards it 1

KodiakJac Posted October 17, 2021 Posted October 17, 2021 Quick question... I just successfully completed the first mission in Lullaby for a Dream. This looks like it's going to be a great campaign! But on my second sortie after re-arming, my bombs didn't explode when attacking Genk. After re-arming do I have to "arm" my bombs using the "Bombs safety switch" before dropping them? Thanks!

AldoTheApache Posted November 11, 2021 Posted November 11, 2021 Just played the first mission. I fly strictly in VR with the Reverb G2. THIS is the kind of mission that was meant for this sim! You did an excellent job creating an immersive experience. In VR, I've not played a campaign yet that carried the depth of the pre-mission planning and also has the ambience at the airfield. The first mission saw me link up with the bombers before being intercepted by some 109's. Broke off to chase the lone wolf as he got behind one of my squadron mates. He made a sharp bank left and I sent a burst into his cockpit and left tank. The entire plane burst into flames as I watched the pilot scramble out and open his chute. Love this campaign so far and look forward to your future work. -BlastingCap 1 1
