4K cockpits for Great Battles WWII Planes!!

Thanks for this, very nice to fly with these.

Does the weathering affect the glass canopy scratches as well?

Or is it just the metal surfaces and gauges?

- Enhanced frames of Galland panzer (Less Weathering version only)
※The mapping of this texture is very small, even worse than the canopy screws on Fw-190.
I can only enhanced it by using gradient color and hilights.

Really makes one wonder why some texture maps are so small.

Would be awesome if the devs reeased versions of older meshes like this with all the stuff the Yak9 or FW190 D9 have.

I really like the less weathering on the seat. It was just way too much before. Could you also do it for the foot pedals? Overall it looks great to me.

Some old cockpit textures did not use multiple textures, which is making textures mapping feel the pinch.
But it is not impossible to improve.

No, the scratches are a different thing.

Oyster, Windows Defender blocks download of the Ju-87 files. It hasn't done this for any of your earlier files. Any ideas? Have you changed anything in the way you rar the files up?

EDIT - I downloaded them anyway and checked with AVG and Malwarebytes. Seems OK and no problems.

Absolutely amazing! You're doing marvels. Thanks and keep up the good work.?
Like someone mentioned: finally cockpits are now en par with the DCS pits. No, even better with the new canopy reflections! But best of all: I can fly in VR with all 4K textures and options on, whereas VR in DCS is a mess, everything below 90fps looks just screwed.

Indeed Venom !

IL-2 GB is mentioned in a very positive way in the threads over at Hoggit DCS !

I too have come and gone over to ... IL-2 GB !

I still like DCS too, but they have to get better at managing the OB/EA branch.

The IL-2 GB code OTOH is managed *as it should be* ... sometimes we do have some minor issues, but as a whole I am amazed at how they can keep most showstopper bugs out of the IL-2 builds (compared to ED as it seems ?) !

Thank you for these improved cockpits Oyster_KAI that indeed, as mentioned by Venom too, put IL-2 pits visually on par with the DCS pits !

Yak Fighters Updated!!
Many missing shadows have been added, especially Yak-7b.

Of course, more legibility enhancements and highlights have been added.

Old Yaks now have clearer Soviet symbols on the gunsight base.

It is not that this mod changed the texture color.

Bf-109 G-6/G-14,Lavochkin Fighters Updated!!

0615-bf109s-01.thumb.jpg.8473ee1489a65d34533c83beb9e0c95c.jpg

Some misaligned textures have been fixed, and the texture of the seat has been further enhanced (only for Less weathering version)

0615-bf109s-02.jpg.cd62c5cc397470acc0159b6698b27b78.jpg0615-bf109s-03.jpg.baead160c1e6a1b2853a296dad855be6.jpg

Bf-109 G-6/G-14 is now the same standard as F-2~G-4, but K-4 lacks a lot of screws and cannot continue to work temporarily.

Lavochkin Fighters

0615-Lavs-05.thumb.jpg.281cb2c0f24895ecf4761d84462ed61a.jpg

There are strange graphics on the landing gear lever due to incorrect texture boundaries = fixed.

0615-Lavs-01.thumb.jpg.24eabe7757c9a30807146244c253154a.jpg

The original texture presents square-shaped scratches, the only thing I can do is redraw it.

0615-Lavs-02.thumb.jpg.ea65529eabe671ddc91846b851df5378.jpg

Examples of enhanced shadows.

0615-Lavs-03.thumb.jpg.8221fc0e648fae2e972bbd1d7a6cbbe3.jpg

Cockpits using the same equipment can get the same upgrade.

0615-Lavs-04.thumb.jpg.be36ee421bb193884ade282c2af6ecb7.jpg

The same problem with IL-2s, there are a lot of Alpha transparent areas that are not accurate, and they have been repaired as much as possible.

The difference in color is due to the different rendering of the sky (cloud MOD).
It is not that this mod changed the texture color.

Hey Oyster - Absolutely love your cockpit mods!

I did notice an anomaly on the BF -109 G4.  Not sure if it is related to your mod or just an issue with the the base graphics.  As you can see from the attached screen capture the two empty instrument mounting areas have a tan background.  The G2 has a similar arrangement but the background on the blanks is black as it should be.  Anyone have any thoughts on this? Is this a known issue or some problem with my files?  Thanks!

This is an old issue, it also appeared after the official G-2 4K skin was released (now fixed), I have reported this issue last month.

Adjust the length of the fixing bar according to the position of the screw.

All Revi C12/D Gunsight have the same issue, will be fixed at next time.

Most cockpits have received many improvements, they already have enhanced legibility, instrument details, shadows or highlights, or more special textures.

When these transparent areas and Alpha mapping are also completed, the improvement of the cockpit is expected to come to an end.

At that time, I will release the package for lazybone? (JSGME friendy pack).

I will start to concentrate on playing this SIM or make new improvements to FC & TC.

Is there a benefit to updating the common textures where there hasn’t been an update to a pit? For instance the p51 hasn’t been updated since May 20. Does the new common file do anything in that situation? Thanks.

Common texture affects the German & Soviet aircraft instruments or gauges of BOS/BOM/BOK.;)

I-16 Type.24 / BOS Planes Updated!!
BOS Planes have all checked and fixed the previous issues, so they can be integrated into a pack.

But this doesn't mean that BOS Planes will not get any upgrades in the future.
Because pictures will over 5mb, so I don't post pics for BOS, you can enter the SIM to see for yourself.

The difference in color is due to the different rendering of the sky (cloud MOD).
It is not that this mod changed the texture color.

MIG-3 s24 / BOM Planes Updated!!

0628-mig3-03.thumb.jpg.f5d659ff3ceb90f0664b877613cd58b3.jpg

The BOM cockpits have checked and repaired previous errors, now integrated into a package.
MIG-3's historical color modification has been corrected.
I referred to the similar Yak-9 and corrected the color of the rear wooden board.
I Can't post too many pictures, please enter the SIM to check by yourself;)

I found the wrong shadows in original texture yesterday.

Bit confusing now, why not make an all-in-one download pack containing all the planes complete incl the common files?

This is what I was thinking about...will be next step.
Everyone have BOS content, so...
I'm planning to merge common texture into BOS pack.;)

Next update will add 2x resolution(512→1024) texture for "oil stains on windshield" , there are 34 planes.
Each cockpit only pays 1mb to have a good effect.

Great work, thanks for doing all of this.

I was using the new cockpits for some time now, but was forced to uninstall due to an effect that happens when you move laterally inside the cockpit. I don't know if this happens on VR or only with TrackIR, but when you quickly move laterally (i.e., on the X axis), there's sort of a "layer" over the cockpit image that move with a bit of lag, creating something like a "shadow" that pursues the real image. It is like having two cockpit images, one is the real image, other is like the "shadow" of it. It's not the blur or ghosting that some monitors have, it's really a "second layer cockpit" effect. Removing your mod, everything goes back to normal. Not a clue on what may cause it. Shaders in the last update?

I don't know if this is related to your mod or the way I have my nVidia settings in Inspector at the moment. Using a GTX 1080 with freesync compatible on 144Hz ultrawide. Probably my settings, as I haven't seen anyone else with the same problem, but thought on sharing here anyway, in case someone else clever than me may have an explanation.

Anyway, your enhancements are really good. Will try again on next driver update.

Cheers.

Not sure if you're on VR or trackir?

Mine is ultrawide 75Hz, with trackir, RTX 2070 and no issues. Freesync/Gsync on.

I don't have inspector, I thought the regular nvidia panel does enough these days. Maybe try without any inspector settings?

I thought a bit about undoing all my adjustments... unfortunately nVidia Panel isn't enough for the kind of adjustments I'm doing. After so many hours tweaking and adjusting the game, I finally got rid of (almost all) shimmering, and also the dreaded microstutter from TiR panning (I'm on TrackIR). Image and panning are all perfect, smooth, without jaggies, pretty - even on "crowded space" and with a lot happening around. Since the problem isn't occurring when using the default cockpits, I'll just let it be for now.

It may be related to the driver version, who knows... I'm sure I'll be revisiting this (and maybe tweaking again) as soon as my system updates to Win 2004 and I'm forced to go to a new driver version (new WDDM model?) and/or we receive further game's engine updates. ?
