I noticed this last week or so. First start up of the game my IPD in the startup is at 0.07510 which is what I prefer. However, sometimes on the the second or third start up it changes to 0.0630 and makes everything to large. So now I exit the game and edit this in the startup.cfg and now I start again only to have this automatically changed back to 0.0630 :dash:

   The only way to stop this is turn off the pc and start fresh. Is anyone else experiencing this? It is very frustrating.

@rowdyb00t

It's a variable that pulls its value from OpenVR or OpenComposite.

When you turn the knob on your headset, or when you adjust IPD software-side (e.g. Reverb), it gets updated.

There is an in-game function to change world size. You need to find it and map the keys, then you can comfortably adjust that properly and never worry about editing that manually again.

    Hello and thanks for the response. I’m using an HTC Vive Pro with steamVR. So the way I’m understanding you, the variable for the IPD in the startup.cfg is pulling the value from my headset adjustment? I however never change the adjustment on the headset ( I have it set to the widest IPD for more FOV and am able to see clearly still because of the gearVR lenses )

  Anyway, my problem is that it automatically changes to 0.0630 in the cfg when or after I have closed the IL2 application, then restart. The funny thing is I might be able to do this 3 or 4 times without a change. I am aware of the in-game IPD adjustments, I just find it rather a pain in the ass and for some reason when adjusting it to (say -27% or back to my preference ) the world seems a bit distorted. I have never had this problem. I’ve been playing this in VR for 2 years now.
    On another note, and this could have something to do with it, last week or so I selected display vr view to monitor or whatever the option says, in the steamVR settings. I didn’t like it so I unchecked it. Since then, when I start the game, it goes to full screen every time and it didn’t use to. I have the game screen resolution set to the lowest setting so it is usually small and in the center of the screen. My monitor is 1920x1080. Sorry if I’m rambling:biggrin:

   I believe that when I return home I will uninstall steamVR and do a fresh install.
                   Thanks again Fenris

Hey mate, ah yeah, you actually do change the adjustment without noticing it. You don't need to touch the wheel, merely shake the headset. Also, the current value is in the headset. Whenever SteamVR pulls that value from the headset itself, it updates. So even if you didn't shake it a bit, and assuming it never moved, it will update. That might be a new change in the method in SteamVR, who knows, but that's how it is now. Try the in-game function, it's even more convenient. No problem? ?
