Deagle Posted August 1, 2021 Posted August 1, 2021 First off, thank you for this, it's been a godsend while learning the game. I really like the tips at the start of the missions (who knew I had to hold back on the joystick to lock the tailwheel on the FW-190 A5?? ?♂️ ) I'm having some trouble getting into the Bf 110 G2 flight school though. Although I have purchased Kuban, when I try to get into it I get the message asking if I want to purchase the Moscow pack. I've redownloaded the flight school files from here and I'm able to take the plane out in free flight mode however I'm unable to get into it. Any ideas?

Utopioneer Posted November 21, 2021 Author Posted November 21, 2021 Hey that issue was brought up in discord and fixed fairly recently, if you downloaded those files more than a month ago try redownloading. If you still see this issue let me know and I'll look into it. 1

Russkly Posted December 20, 2021 Posted December 20, 2021 Very excited about these what-look-to-be-excellent tutorials. However, having unzipped the file into my il2 bos/data/campaigns folder, I can see the (impressive) graphic in the "Scripted Campaigns" menu in game, but when I try to start the first mission (Basic Flight) I just get a message, "Mission description is loading", but nothing happens. What am I doing wrong, please? R

Russkly Posted December 27, 2021 Posted December 27, 2021 These are very well done, Utopioneer. Thank you for taking the time to do them. I did the SE5a one and found it useful even though I've flying WW1 and WW2 flight sims since their inception. I'll be interested to learn about the particular characteristics of some of the more complex WW2 a/c when I get there, including how to manage mixture, prop pitch, WEP, boost, superchargers, etc. on a plane by plane basis. 1
Hornet2054 Posted January 17, 2022 Posted January 17, 2022 Great and very useful work! Thank you! Do you expect a gradual expansion for new aircraft? 1

Thanks I appreciate that. When I first expanded the list of aircraft I had a lot of time on my hands, but unfortunately life got a lot more complicated. My initial goal was to have at least one aircraft from each side and each pack represented, which I did accomplish. In many cases, it was easy to expand to similar types that required only minor changes to instructions and missions already created. For new plane models it's more time consuming, as I have to first learn the plane myself, and it takes a lot longer. The truth is I was probably never the perfect person to create something like this, as I'm not an expert myself, but I felt strongly that the experience was missing. I may continue to chip away at the planesets, but I don't think I'll see the pace of work I was able to keep up again. If anybody else in the community was able to write up the instructional text for single engine fighters I can pretty quickly run my scripts to generate the missions themselves. I'm not sure I'll get around to the more specialized planes or large level bombers, which would require generating new mission files. 2
Hornet2054 Posted January 21, 2022 Posted January 21, 2022 I get it. Real life is more important and this is just fun, though amazing. Even so, a big thank you. I'm definitely not alone to whom your work has helped. 1
pawnmaker Posted February 6, 2022 Posted February 6, 2022 Thank you! These are so great! I have only just starting flying so these are exactly what I needed. 1
=FI=Macca Posted February 14, 2022 Posted February 14, 2022 That is a marvellous set of missions, Utopioneer, thank you from the bottom of my heart. I'm about to start the FW-190 A-3 campaign, and since I am a really poor at handling this aircraft, your campaign will be a true help. Hats off, sir! M 1 1 1

CosmiC10R Posted July 31, 2022 Posted July 31, 2022 Thank you for these. I haven't played in ages and it's super helpful to get back into it. Really well structured and with a template for the t16000 hotas I'm able to keep things straight. Cheers! 2
Dynamosity Posted December 8, 2022 Posted December 8, 2022 (edited) Thanks for these missions. A great help to green pilots. Working fine in 5.000 Any chance of including the He 111 H-16 at some future point? Edited December 10, 2022 by Dynamosity 1

Thank you so much for spending the time doing them. They are so nice to start with. I love that it's gradual and that it keeps the same structure for each plane. It helps one to alleviate the overwhelming feeling of having so much to learn to start enjoying the sim. A little thing I don't understand though : why am I required to buy the Flying Circus Vol.1 to play the Bf 109 G6 Late, the Fw 190 A6 and the P-47D22 flight schools ? Cheers 2

Cheers Thanks for the kind words, I believe this was fixed when it was pointed out to me on the steam thread in late 2022. If you downloaded before then you can likely just redownload and it should work as long as you own the required module. Let me know if a fresh download doesn't work and I'll revisit.
LoupVert Posted March 2, 2023 Posted March 2, 2023 Hey there, bad news/good news : - bad news : the Family pack includes the issues (ie the >200MB one) - good news : the three single packs all works perfectly Cheers 1

The "family pack" ? is an IL-2 forum feature, I didn't post the link to that on steam, so I forgot to update that alongside the individual planes. It has been fixed. 2

Utopioneer Posted April 15, 2023 Author Posted April 15, 2023 (edited) He 111 Flight Schools added with level bombing practice and instruction missions. Big help from @6CG_Vult_VR on putting this together, and hopefully we'll get around to expanding this to the other level bombers. If something doesn't work or needs tweaking please let me know. ACG_Nikki Posted December 18, 2023 Posted December 18, 2023 Thank you for the flight schools, it really helps me as a noob. Do you plan to make one as well for the JU 88? Is there a similar plane that I can learn? Thanks in advance. 1 1
Ulricus Posted March 30, 2024 Posted March 30, 2024 (edited) Great work! And a big thx for your flight schools. They are an integral part of my 'trying out new planes' routine: First Requiem's tutorials for theorie, then your flight school for practice. Edited April 10, 2024 by Ulricus 2
Oldmanscoyote Posted July 9, 2024 Posted July 9, 2024 First of all thanks for doing this. I've owned the game for an age but am finally trying to start playing. Kids complicate life 😉 I'm hoping the training will help ease my transition. I downloaded the game directly from 1CGS not trough Steam if it is relevant. But when I followed the instructions for downloading all of the tutorial campaigns for all planes at once nothing changed within the game (I could not see the training campaigns). However if I dumped all of the individual training campaigns for each plane into the "campaigns" folder it worked fine (SE5a, Bf109G whatever). The campaigns list within the game is a bit long but that is no big deal. I guess my PC did not recognize the folders with folders architecture. This is probably an obvious fix to most folks but just in case... 🙂 2
ChewyCalamari Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 Thank you for the flight schools. I have limited free time these days but thanks to you, I have been able to quickly pick up flying the LA-5 in realistic mode! 1

Randalf Posted August 27 Posted August 27 Hi guys and thanks in advance for you work. I've just bought IL2 sturmovik Cliffs of Dover Blitz: do these training mission work for that too? I am a real newbie so I'd really like to have a step by step guide in all the mess (software anda hardware) neded to get this think go! Thankyou anyway.

Hi Randalf, Great Battles (Battle of Stalingrad, Battle of Moscow, ...) and Cliffs of Dover (Blitz, Desert Wings - Tobruk) are different games. Missions created for one of them don't work in the other one. There is a Cliffs of Dover section on this forum - see the list at the top of this page. And I think you will have even a better chance to get help here. Josef 1 2
