S!

@Bremspropeller It closes with throttle added, just wrote a rough description. F404 responds quick on throttle as well. Can only post publicly available data ?

The guy is being a bit of a pedant. If he thinks one of the airfields is six-months out of whack with the space time continuum, well, he can take a breath. And he can just not use that airfield. And I'll bet a day's pay he'll fly non-WWII aircraft on that map. So much for his hard-core historical accuracy.

If he wants true historical accuracy, he can go outside and take a walk. Everything he'll see is actually supposed to be there in that exact time period.

If it's a good looking fun map, is close to what it is said to represent, and it isn't too much of a resource hog: beauty!

Getting the channel map for free because of the skin contest for the Anton - looking forward to it.

Think I´ll get the 47 as well as a new toy :)

Nice indeed!

Afraid I don't have the Anton.

But I'm likely to to have the P-47 before the day is out.

There is definitely something going on over there. They just changed the forum structure of the P-47  subforum. Now we have the usual headers the released modules usually have. Bugreport whishlist and so on.

I'm super excited! :)

I'll certainly buy the map... as to the guy in the video, he's right actually.

You will never get any map to be 100 per cent accurate in any game, but in a flight sim, one thing that should be as accurate as possible are the airfields you are operating from.

If they have included Dover Castle, the White Cliffs, Dover Harbour etc, you would expect operational airfields for the Normandy operation to be more or less correct.

Anyway, regardless, it looks pretty good!

I didn't know about the DCS, FW-190 skin contest and I did decent one before the template was even released.  I read about it after it was over.:(

I'm buying the map.

Does anybody know? Are there any plans in DCS for a Bf109 which actually would fit the Normandy timeframe? As we all know K4 and Dora first saw combat 11/44 earliest.

Wow, that map is sobering.

The P-47 only works in open beta, or I can use it in current stable version?

Still no prices on Steam.

My guess is $45 to $55 for the Channel map and $65 for the P-47.

Knock of $15 with a bundle and I'll be happy.

$39.99 each, go get em lol

I think most updates come first in Beta. only few months later get to the official version. It doesn't matter much. Their betas are working ok this days.

I only have on install and it's the Beta version.

The update was too slow. I stopped it, changed the settings of the updater, not to use torrents and now it's going about 15 times faster.:good:

Open Beta only I think. So far I'm impressed it flys like I'd hoped and imo seems alot better than the il2 version from what little I've flown. Still too early to tell for certain though. (no offense to the devs, I still prefer Il2 overall).

Silent Hunter III has the Channel on its map, though you have to be either very brave or very foolish to go through it.

I just flew it for a minute, set up some basic controls, and then checked for the map. Still not available. And it's the map I really want.

Can't say the outside made me all hot and sweaty - maybe I need to look some more -  but the cockpit is incredible! When you turn and the sun hits the instruments, it's some of the best I've seen. In the two-minutes I flew it, it felt like a heavy P51.

Must... have... the... map!

Yeah I dl it now. The map should be available for open beta. But I wont fly it today anyway late now

That sucks - maybe there will be a contest for the Jug as well.

You bought it. You're as weak as I am.

I probably wouldn't have bought the Jug if it weren't for the map, but DCS successfully pimped them as twins. We have a big day tomorrow but I'm still up for a few hours. Hopefully the map will come out and I'll get at least an hour with it tonight.

But that P-47 cockpit... just gorgeous!

I saw the pics

it sold me.  Also I like to see if the one we have here and it is comparable. I like the look of both interior and exterior in GB version. I need to fly it after upgraded dm

It's excellent. DM and exterior visuals are superior in Il2 imo but the FM of the Jug feels much better in DCS. I know it's not finished yet but I don't know if I can ever fly the Il2 Jug again after flying the DCS version.

Every other Il2 aircraft is excellent but the Jug is the only letdown for me.

The DCS Jug  is a smooth flying bird and you can clearly feel the weight of the plane. Love it.:good: Needs quite a bit of rudder when you initiate a turn, but once it settles in the turn, it turns surprisingly well. Controls are very responsive at most speeds. (I have to tweak the curves quite a bit to get it to where I want it.)

After a quick free flight and setting up the controls, I took it in a 2vs2 dogfight against a pair of A8's. I got one and my AI wingman got one. Then another one against a pair of D9's at 7000m. This one was much easier than the fight against the A8's down low. I managed to get both of them, pretty easy.

Then I flew that "furball" quick mission against a bunch of D9's at high altitude and it was a turkey shoot.  The performance advantage of the P-47 up there was very obvious.

   Overall I like it.
