savagebeest Posted June 22, 2022 Posted June 22, 2022 (edited) Is it normal for war thunder not to have engine idle feedback? Only at wep full throttle I feel it. When bringing throttle slightly back it all goes away. Wondering if it's something I'm doing wrong. Everything else works perfectly. Edited June 22, 2022 by savagebeest

May I see a good quality screenshot of your Wings settings for WT?

Andre Posted July 17, 2022 Author Posted July 17, 2022 Guys, anybody uses Oculus Quest 2 along with JetSeat/JetPad?
Rangermajmike Posted July 19, 2022 Posted July 19, 2022 How do you configure the IL-2 config file to work with DOF Reality Motion Sim and Andre”s jetseat. ( DOF telemetry uses Sim Racing) and the Jetseat uses Wings. Seems like there is port conflict between the two. Using a DOF Reality P-6, HP Reverb G2, Voicemeeter, dedicated soundcard for Buttkicker, and Jetseat.

Option 1 There is UDP forwarding section to another app/rig in the 3rd tab of the SimShaker Wings settings. Adjust it for the DOF Reality Motion Sim as required in its UG The IL-2 config file stays as for SimShaker Wings. Option 2. Do not use SimShaker Wings UDP forwarding. In the game “data/startup.cfg” file section [KEY = motiondevice] adjust for the DOF Reality Motion Sim as required in its UG. Section [KEY = telemetrydevice] adjust for the Jetseat as required in SimShaker Wings UG.
Rangermajmike Posted July 20, 2022 Posted July 20, 2022 Excuse my lack of technical knowledge, (old Guy), what is the definition of the abbreviation UG?

Mtnbiker1998 Posted August 19, 2022 Posted August 19, 2022 Hey Andre, with the news of the new runway materials coming to the sim, do you have any news on how this might be implemented in SImshaker? I love the effect DCS has of feeling the bumps in the pavement based on bricks or grass or other materials, Would love something similar in IL-2!
DD_Crash Posted August 19, 2022 Posted August 19, 2022 I am sure that that will be down to Il-2 to provide the effects. If they are there Simshaker will do the biz

Hey, talking about IL-2, the bumps effect should correspond to the terrain since it's based on the struts compression changes. The more work for struts the more you feel it. AFAIK, the game doesn't expose material type in the telemetry data.
TheWarsimmer Posted September 16, 2022 Posted September 16, 2022 Any chance the software could work during replays of recorded tracks like dcs? Or is the data not provided due to the manner in which il2 does replays?

102nd-YU-cmirko Posted October 15, 2022 Posted October 15, 2022 is there a list of data points that is communicated to dev's ? I really think of Simshaker as cherry on the immersion cake

102nd-YU-cmirko Posted October 15, 2022 Posted October 15, 2022 Sorry, that was some really bad english ^^ what I meant it, are you Andre possibly in contact with the DEV team >? Do they as developers have a request to improve the amount of data points in telemetry data or add something such as material type M.

I haven't discussed adding something such as material type with the devs. I have no hope they will add it.
neilprater Posted October 18, 2022 Posted October 18, 2022 Hi, I am trying to get SSW to work with my buttkicker, but just can't seem to get it to work. To start with when I installed the latest release version it would just hang with a blank configuration screen when firing up IL2. I then uninstalled this version completely and installed the latest beta. This seemed to fix the blank configuration screen, but would not let me select my dedicated second sound card for haptic effects until I uninstalled and reinstalled SSW. I can now select the second sound card but there are no effects coming through to my buttkicker on the test button or in game. I've altered the startup.cfg file as per the instructions. I've made sure that SSW isn't being blocked by my firewall, and I don't have any other anti virus apart from windows defender. I don't use a VPN. The buttkicker works perfectly using simhub for racing games. I've tried everything I can think of and have even tried a new soundcard, but it still won't work. I am using the demo version. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
102nd-YU-cmirko Posted October 18, 2022 Posted October 18, 2022 maybe we could create a list of improvements such as ground material type and other ideas and try to communicate it towards the dev team ? I mean, there is no guarantee they would prioritise this sort of improvements, but it would be a good start to have them record a set of improvement criteria. I would definitively enjoy any new improvements for my "shaking chair" (jetseat + 4x50W Dayton audio shakers :D)

Sorry, Andre. I took that screenshot when IL2 had launched, but not during gameplay. If I am actually within the game then on the text window it does say that packets have been received, but no effects are coming through to the Buttkicker. The test button doesn’t produce any effects either.

BigGinger Posted November 14, 2022 Posted November 14, 2022 @Andre I have a feature request: it would be great if SimShaker Wings had multiple G-force feedback settings. What I'd like to be able to do is have different types of feedback occur as G-force increases. For example, I currently have my G-force positive dead zone set to 3G, so when I hit 3G I get feedback in my JetPad. It would be amazing if there were two more G-force settings available, with separate effects files. That way, I could have one set to turn on at 3G, one at 6G, and one at 9G, with the effects files set to provide increased amplitude to the shakers at higher G-force. This would provide a much more useful level of feedback than the current binary system, which only lets you know if you're above/below the set dead zone. Thanks for all the work you do on this software, it is excellent! 1

Just update the version to actual one. You can use this link to get it https://simshaker.com/downloads/SimShaker_Wings_Setup.msi I would recommend to uninstall the previous version before you install the new one. The activation is keyless in most cases now. While registering, submit your email address and you will get a one-time activation code by email shortly. If you haven't got the activation code within a minute, please check your spam folder. If still no luck, please contact me. Happy flying!

Youtch Posted November 20, 2022 Posted November 20, 2022 I have a couple of questions after seeing a screenshot of the Wings Software control panel. Does engine boost work in IL2? Does chaff/flare apply to IL2? What is APU/JFS, does it apply to IL2? Does the engine trigger a stronger shaking at start-up? Visually the plane is shaking stronger just after kicking off propeller faster rotations. Is there any difference in feeling between firing machines guns or firing cannon? Same for damage, being damaged by small caliber does it feels different than being damaged by 30mm? Does the payload release feels different depending on the size of the payload and between fighter and bombers? Many thanks for your patience with me.
