Ballpark idea of when the Hurricane will be released?

Sometime in the spring is what Jason has told us.

Yak-9, Yak-9T, P-47D-22 and then the Hurricane.

Razorback P-47's early release is a marketing strategy to get me, specifically, to preorder BoN.

Very interesting plane that Yak9T:

Development moved swiftly in Yakovlev's design office and in the winter of 1942-43 the antitank model Yak-9T was offered for evaluation (completed on 4 March 1943 by pilot V.Chomyakov). The major armament was the very powerful 37 mm NS-37 cannon with length of 3400 mm and ammunition of 32 shells. The aircraft featured a reinforced nose section, the cockpit canopy moved 400 mm rear wards and an improved VISH-105 SV propeller. Fuel capacity was increased up to 330 kg and maximum take off weight raised to 3025 kg. Compared to the Yak-9, the type's performance showed only a slight loss in vertical speed. A total of 2748 Yak-9Ts was built by Plant # 153 from March 1943 till June 1945.

And also a great idea to get it in the BOBP career if they want to, so we can use it right away!

I rarely fly any Yak... If I fly Russian, it's usually an IL2 or I-16.

Usual mount is a Spitfire, and now impatiently waiting for the Hurri... Yaks... no!

Me neither - I still ordered them, though.

The most important grudge I have with the Yaks is that I can't look out that tiny frigging windscreen.

I hope the dude that designed that effing embrasure has had serious a talk with his commissar...

In that case I assume you don't fly 109s either?

Those windscreens, especially the later models are minuscule!

I think it should have transpired to even the most casual reader by this time, that I'm not exactly the 109's most enthusiastic fan.

You certainly would need narrower sunglasses if you wanted to close the canopy when sitting in one. No surprise then.

Do you fly VR?.. it gives much better visibility inside all cockpits. It's like IL2 was really designed for VR.

Any news on the Hurri wing configurations?

Suppose we get the A, B and C. And then we get the pre-D-Day Normandy map. Now, we already have the Bf109E-7 and the Ju-88A-4.

Somehow that makes me think late 1940. Which leads me to think of the Spit Mk. Ia. And the Tiger Moth.

Maybe I should stop thinking.

Hi BlackSix it was first published  by @6FG_Big_Al  in the free topics (real big thanks btw) but here is now an Hurricane Osprey book as a free download at https://ospreypublishing.com/blog/Free_eBooks_week_2/

For others I guess a nice “prejoy” when you have preordered the Hurricane.

I saw Trooper's post and wondered what the fuss was about. Then I noticed that it's jollyjack - been on my ignore list for quite a while now and that just confirms it.

I think not, after more then one  months later, he is reacting on my message about a free Hurricane book from Osprey. But this download was complete legally. So I do not what the fuss is about.

There was a post by jollyjack between yours of March 31 and Trooper's. Jollyjack was being his usual **** which is what Trooper reacted to. Jollyjack appears to have now deleted the post, or perhaps a Mod did it before he could.

Cheers.

This is what he posted...

Lets wait what the Hurri brings. When it brinks, maybe an idea for MP IL2-ers? A death match between 2 IL2 ace pilots with Hurries against Spits .....

A challenge for the Polish players her maybe? At least it's said they have saved Europe flying Hurries. Beat the Limeys boys! Let them bite the dust in their own backyard

Finally a revenge for the way they treated Polish citizens after WW2 until especially now ... (oops, no politics, sorry Jason)

I think the Normandie-Niemen squadron liveries will be very popular and I look forward to a scripted campaign coming out  to cover this amazing unit.

I think it's pretty cool to see the swirly candy cane spinners on something besides German planes.
