JGr2/J5_W0LF- Posted October 28, 2019 Posted October 28, 2019 (edited) Great Videos Pat... Any chance you could do a video on the settings of the PWCG. I'm interested in mainly the 2 pages that control how many flights are in one mission at one time and the percentages of escorting or fighter sweeps or attacking ground targets. Im trying to find a good mix of all three types of missions. I have yet to get the PWCG to give me an Escort mission. Thanks again for this app. Oh Yeah Quick question, How many pilots can I put in a single COOP mission. I have 2 squadrons that bring around 18-20 pilots in one mission. I haven't tried to make one yet but I was curious.... Edited October 28, 2019 by 361st_Bugsy
Grancesc Posted October 28, 2019 Posted October 28, 2019 Great idea with the tutorial videos. BTW my sincere appreciation for your great work on the whole PWCG project. Thank you very much.
PatrickAWlson Posted October 28, 2019 Author Posted October 28, 2019 @361st_Bugsy Good question and I don't really know the answer, It depends on what the game can handle and what a runway can handle, and that probably depends on the runway. I imagine six per squadron should work OK, after that I'm, not sure. As for he game, I think player planes "cost" less than AI planes because no AI processing. If that is accurate then you might be able to get more planes n a coop than you can in SP.
JGr2/J5_W0LF- Posted October 28, 2019 Posted October 28, 2019 (edited) Thanks Pat I have already ran a mission last night with eight players in one squadron. It was tons of fun so now I'm reaching out to other squads to see if we get up 15-20 players. My goal was to be able to invite other squadrons to fly with us in a COOP Campaign of say 10 missions, once a week, hence the question about how many can fit in a flight. Our current airfield has concrete runways ... Also the missions that are generated and placed in the missions folder. I know that game sees them as just a mission. Is it possible to edit the mission via the games editor...to say make more planes available and then host the mission that way? Edited October 28, 2019 by 361st_Bugsy
FTC_Riksen Posted October 31, 2019 Posted October 31, 2019 Could you make one video with the details on the Skins?
PatrickAWlson Posted November 4, 2019 Author Posted November 4, 2019 Added a video on skin assignment 1

Like I mentioned to you before, I have complete packs for the JG52, JG51, JG27, JG54, ZG1, and KG54 with several numbers. I'll use this tutorial to create a large skin pack that can assign the numbers randomly to the AI and see if it works. I'll let you know how my tests go. Cheers
FTC_Riksen Posted November 4, 2019 Posted November 4, 2019 Please see here for the result of the test Pat:
-332FG-Hank_DG Posted November 4, 2019 Posted November 4, 2019 Hey pat is there any videos on how to set up competitive coop modes? The one where you can add pilots to any squadron have multiple missions runnin at once.

I am holding off because ... being completely honest ... the advanced configs have gotten a bit out of control. I have to do a review of them, see what is used and how, look for conflicts and interactions between them, and review the impact of simple config changes on advanced parameters. So I have some work to do there.
fubar_2_niner Posted January 12, 2020 Posted January 12, 2020 Thanks for the update Pat, we can wait, no pressure. Regards

WWBayonet Posted May 15, 2020 Posted May 15, 2020 This is all very plain and understandable until I run the exe and a java update is required. Is there a browser you can recommend which does not "snub" java.

For what it's worth i just use Chrome. but I'm pretty sure any browser can be used to access the Oracle site and download Java. PWCG requires 64 bit Java
VAG_Sevy Posted September 8, 2020 Posted September 8, 2020 Hi, First I would like to say, great job! Looks like you spent a lot of time creating this app! ? I would like to know how to share a cooperative campaign with the other participating pilots? The pilots should be able to complete the combat reports themselves and consult their log, that of the squadron and the strategic information as well as the pre-flight briefing. How can we do that?

There is no automated way at this point. I have shied away from putting in any network code for security reasons. Zip up the campaign and put it in an email is the easiest thing.
VAG_Sevy Posted September 9, 2020 Posted September 9, 2020 I understand your point of view. But, for virtual squadrons it would be a wonderful online tool to unite their members around the idea of a permanent campaign. Because all would be involved in the journal of his squadron and participate in the creation of the memory of his clan okay! I know, it's a bit too idealized. But...

Because all would be involved in the journal of his squadron and participate in the creation of the memory of his clan okay! I know, it's a bit too idealized. But... It's not a technology or know how problem. The issues are 1. Infrastructure: I would be obliged to set up a server and host it. That is ongoing cost and maintenance. 2. Security risks: This can mostly be gotten around by making sure that data is specific PWCG JSON only. Never files. Never anything that gets executed. Still, I'm always nervous about reading from, writing to, and especially transmitting data from a users machine. If I was a corporation I would do it. As an individual it's a lot to take on the responsibility of keeping an application up and running 24/7. Of course that is mostly the job of the hosting company, but I'm still going to be the first one to get dinged when something goes down.
WM_KMS Posted September 11, 2020 Posted September 11, 2020 Made a campaign, how do I get missions into the game where I can fly them?

See here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h3dsbQ3b4XM&feature=youtu.be Once you reached the end of the video in your mission creating, minimize PWCG, start IL-2, go to 'Missions' and click on the mission with your campaign name and the date of the mission.
WM_KMS Posted September 12, 2020 Posted September 12, 2020 Aha! I had to open the waypoint editor then the "Assign Pilots" page then finally the "Accept Mission" option became visible
PCMRDiazejam Posted December 8, 2020 Posted December 8, 2020 Hi, and thankyou for this generator. I'm a total noob with the tinterweb but your vids on YouTube are a god send. I'm slowly working through the campaign generator, slowly being the operative word, but really looking forward to getting started with co-op. Keep up the good work. P.S. I've just realised this is my very first post! 1 1
