Says 10 0nly 8?

Bought the game probably simple answer but why does TC say 10 tanks included and only 8 are in the drop down tank menu ( to come in a patch?)

This game are not ready, it's in an Early Access phase.

Moreover, Pz III L and T-34 STZ 1942 are not part of this game, they are "free" tanks. So, we're waiting 4 new objects: SU-122, SU-152, Panther and Ferdinand.

This is something that I've been wondering, It would give players who don't own TC a chance to experience what it's like before buying the full thing.

IIRC Jason stated some weeks ago, that this is not planned, because there is not enough time to do so. Don't forget it was announced, that it is planned to bring two playable selfpropelled anti air guns as collectors vehicles after TC is completed.

It's a shame (although understandable) because currently I find the free tanks unplayable (because of the new aim) and so it does not make you want to buy TC since I do not know if the aim behaves in the same way in .
 
Otherwise, the 2 collector tanks will be bought separately or they will also be available in a premium version of TC?

It is no tanks. On the Russian side it is a 25mm AA gun mounted on a truck, on German side a 20mm AA gun mounted on an open half track. They surely will be purchasable separately.

I can say that with a bit of practice the aiming even with the new system, does in fact get easier.

I just wanted to make sure, that there is no misunderstanding, as there were tanks with anti air guns mounted, like the german 'Wirbelwind', so don't worry.

Yeah, people who claim that it's 'unplayable' are definitely not trying very hard. 

 

The current system is far from ideal, but it is serviceable.

As I said, I'm talking about free tanks. These being no longer updated by the devellopeurs for the moment, it is possible that the behavior of the aiming is not correct.

In TC, the aim may be good but having not yet bought this module (every day I hesitate to take ^^), I can not check for myself.

Why hesitate if you can afford it there are really zero tank sims out there being updated and TC will only get better (also in VR ).

I just did a testrun with the free tanks compared to their TC counterparts in the QMB. So a run with the Panzer III Ausf. L and M, as well as with the T-34 1942 and 1943.

No difference in aiming between the free and the TC tanks. But if you zoom in in gunsight view, that you have the same vision as the gunners had in the real gunsight, the aiming is controlable. You have to be careful, not to move your mouse too fast, so your gun doesn't get lost, but if you handle it with care, you can get used to it. I found the aiming of the

T-34s a bit more nervous, than of the Panzer III. The biggeest disadvantage has the free T-34 compared to its TC version, the missing of the 360° periscope for the gunner. And a bit odd the unbuttoned position in the T-34 1942 right besides the turret.

Sorry to digress from the topic, but how do I access the 360° periscope? What is/are the key command/s to enable it? Thanks.

Because it's 60 € ^^ '
Because I did not know if the aim was the same in TC.
Because I'm afraid of getting tired quickly; the tanks look beautiful but once the discovery of the interiors passed I do not know if I will manage to apreciate the gameplay over time.

It's the same command used to aim with the gunsight - just press it one more time after entering the main gunsight view.

Buy it now or later if you like tank sims if tank sims are not your thing then it's an easy no. There is nothing else out there.

Yes I tested this, too now, with the same result. I never did before, because the aiming with keys is not implemented. And here is the problem, I guess. When you bind keys to the pilot head movement, you can move the gun of a gunner with them. So from this aspect it should work with the tank guns as well. But because this is not implemented in the tanks, there seems to be a conflict between the aircraft setting, that says you can move the gun with the keys, and the tank setting, that doesn't allow gun movement with keys. And my guess is, this conflict makes this absurd gun movings, when trying to use the keys for aiming.

The system is crap !   Not playable ...only if you drink a liter of vodka  … please ..fix this !

I know the game is in early access .. but why it gets so bad by the last update ? 

 

aiming problems , drunk mouse , the tower stil turns back in the forward position  … i like TC a lot ..but now ..its really unplayable

I can only hope they will bring some changes with the update next week, that introduces the campaigns. In the current state I have no interest in playing TC any further, which is very sad, as it really has potential.

I do agree with you current mouse aim is just wrong saying nicely. couple updates back mouse aim was bad as well but it was playable but now is almost impossible to play. and on top of that what is the deal with turret sticking in the middle. i wanna be able to bind keys to my joystick and use it. unable to rebind turret keys is unacceptable by any standards and being early accesses is not exception

It would be nice if we could choose ourselves, mouse or keyboard or if you would like to get the joystick .......

If you would put everything on your keyboard then it is difficult to drive and aim, so in combination with your mouse you can do both in the same time .. After all, you also play two people in the same time .... (driver and shooter)    Driver with your keybord and schooter with your mouse .. when whe have to do that all on the keyboard ... i need a extra pair of hands :biggrin:

Nope, drive with WASD and aim with the cursor keys. Would be pretty easy. However I would prefer aiming with the joystick or even do the vertical aiming with my trimwheel, to make it even more realistic.

aiming with the joystick , and drive with the cursor keys .. that's a option … but i like to use the mouse for aiming and shooting .

 

But ...It would be nice if we could choose ourselves, mouse or keyboard or if you would like to get the joystick...thats the best option for everyone

Go to the second gunner sight view (default twice LShift + T). You can rotate it (default RShift + , to the left and RShift + / to the right). Too bad that the rotation feature is so easy to miss because it's really important for effective operation of the T-34. Without it you're basically blind.

And in online playing it gives you a good advantage over German tanks, as long as there are no binoculars for the commander implemented, and the turret turning back to

12 o'clock position as soon as you leave the gunsight/periscope view.

@Mitthrawnuruodo: Thank you very much for the thorough explanation. Turned out that I actually have the functions mapped out on my HOTAS but have been using them separately. 

 

@Yogiflight: This is, indeed, a game changer. Awesome!

No problem.

 

In case anyone is interested, remember that you can quickly realign the sight with the gun's direction by visor adjustment reset (default RShift + ').

 

It's also worth noting that the KV-1 sight has the same functionality.
