Mugwump Posted October 1, 2019 Posted October 1, 2019 I installed the latest update (Tempest, P-38 etc.) and when I try to start a quick mission, the game will crash at the end of the mission loading screen. The red progress bar fills up to 100% then the game times out and I get a pop up box from Windows saying the game stopped responding. This will happen 3-4 times in a row and then the game will finally work. Any fixes I should implement?
[-=BP=-]Slegawsky_VR Posted October 1, 2019 Posted October 1, 2019 Had similar issues and finally made some changes in Nvidia control panel that probably caused game to crash. In game graphic settings and Nvidia panel have to match or at least in my case it fixed the crash but not the stuttering in multiplayer.
Mugwump Posted October 1, 2019 Author Posted October 1, 2019 I'm using an AMD card. I've been fiddling with different settings but haven't been able to figure out what's causing the issue.

Mugwump Posted October 4, 2019 Author Posted October 4, 2019 I've fiddled around a bit more. It appears that the issue occurs when my PC is first booted up. It takes 3-4 attempts before the game will start. Prior to that, it will time out during the loading screen before the mission starts. The loading bar will fill to 100% but then the game will time out and I'll get a popup saying IL-2.exe has stopped responding. After the 3rd or 4th try, the missions will load and they seem to load properly upon subsequent shut downs and startups of the game. If I power down the PC and re-start, I get the same issue with game crashes. Any ideas?

rowdyb00t Posted October 26, 2019 Posted October 26, 2019 @Mugwump I’ve fixed my crash problem. I had ReShade installed to the game. When I uninstalled it the random crashes stopped. Strange thing is it used to work fine, so I don’t know the reason for ReShade crashing the game. There were a few updates in October, windows, steamVR and nvidia. Maybe one of these updates is the culprit.

Flip-FMK Posted November 1, 2019 Posted November 1, 2019 The game is closing to the desktop on the mission load screen if you have the reshade app installed. I have tested this on two different systems, one using a AMD gpu and the other a Nvidia card and got crashes on both of them. The app was working before bodenplatte and sometime after the main update got live, but it was stopped working since then.

Thad Posted November 18, 2019 Posted November 18, 2019 Hi, Have you tried turning off any and all unneeded programs running in the background? If that corrects the problem... add them back one at a time to find the problem program. Good luck.
