@Papa_Bear: check Thors signature

@all - whoever might have missed it allow me to point on an all-time classic about bombing in the virtual skies. It was done for Il2-46, but except a few details it is perfectly relevant for Il2-BoX, too:

Thanks for the reminder and kind words! Wow, it is 10 years this month since I released the manual to '46 public. The time sure flies... :)

This is perhaps a better link: M4T

I've added Discord invite to the first post of this thread.

I could not agree more. Found it a couple of weeks ago, and great reading :good:

Sure is. We've always welcomed new players, no matter the skill. EST zone could make things complicated on Friday evenings (European time zone), but less so on Sundays which are the two days when we fly.

Hop onto our Discord server so you know when we fly - we will gladly show you the Ju-87 and much more if you're interested.

Hello...  ?

I am getting the hang of the JU-87 once again and as a result my takeoffs and landings are becoming more consistent.  When I can do 5 good landings in a row than I will consider myself checked out for this phase of my re-learning.

What I need next is  a list of the controls (ie: mixture) that we must fly with online so I can set them up correctly.  I already have the RPM manual setting working quite well.

Thank you...

These are two guides dealing with engine settings aso.

I think the easiest way to set up controlls is to start flying a plane and assign needed controlls on the fly by hitting escape and open the key settings menu. Since we are flying in expert mode everything concerning manual engine management should be respected.

At first it seems to be a huge task, but once you have the basics set up it is just adding the one or the other new command when a new plane is introduced. Just make sure you do not have interfeering double assignements marked by orange squares.

The way you set up your controlls very much on the type and number of additional controll devices available to you.

Thank you for the guide.  I have downloaded it and plan to print out the information on the JU-87...

Hi Virtue. Do you guys have a Discord server perhaps? For smaller groups like DBS it serves perfectly well as a forum, next to comms when not needing to use TS.

Well I have waited out this urge to join a squad for a long while. Truth is flying alone in any cfs is prescription of frustration.

After FNBF this Friday I leave for work and will be back after 2 weeks. I will get in touch then

@LuseKofte come along and join us on a Friday or Sunday evening buddy. We use Discord for in flight Comms usually - no dramas or pressure of any kind, just drop by and say hello :)

Kind Regards,

MDS1

DBS Thor sounds very familiar. Any lineage back to Fighter Ace?

I'm back from a 10+ year hiatus, a Fighter Ace veteran if you will. I started with the largest USA Bomber group there before moving to the VF10 Screamin Demons. I served as FCO (Fighter Commanding Officer) and coordinated escorts and CAPs among our wings and sometimes enjoyed a roll in the bomber formations as well.

I just got done building a monster gaming system w/ VR and just waiting on a new x52 to show up and get back into the air. The VF10 has somewhat stayed in contact over the years and we have a few members that are interested in getting back into the air. Are you still looking for members and are you only looking for buff pilots or welcoming stick jockeys as well?

Never played Fighter Ace, but I do have a long history with IL-2 and flight sims - dating back from early 2003 to around 2005/6 when I first ventured online.

We're always open for new members and will accept any skill level, as long as you are interested. However, before you make any decision I urge you to spend few evenings with us and see how it suits you. Many pilots fly with us on occasion and enjoy simply providing escort duties.

Head over to our Discord server and we can continue from there. :)

Hi. Is this still active?

Hi. Active as in still flying? If so - for sure. We do mostly IL-2 and occasional DCS.

  • Thanks 1
