Nice man..

seperate Q.
Why do you have heaps og graphically anomolies in the distance of your view.
dont think its because of where you are flying.
Looks like gpu texture issue or overheat

Will it ever be overhauled and refined?

I get some hovering streets and railways when using this mod. Visible in ground attack missions.

I had to disable it again since they repaired the height of the Moscow map in one of the recent updates.

Yes I was afraid about that, but you can always ask the modder to repair its mod, if this is important.

I did stopped playing at the Moscow map as those devs seems to have changed the high, so all my collected campaigns, missions are corrupt. ?

Had exactly one case in the last ~2 years when a campaign generator placed an ground attack point inside the excluded zone and I had to use the 'free flight' mod.. There I saw the hovering road textures again.

But it's fixed within the generator now (PWCG). The placing issue.

Had this 'hovering' once/twice before on the Moscow map in general and did some testing and it's a bit weird, the bug happened not always and sometimes the railroads were ok. But I had this mod on all the time.

Mod Now Broken!

With the 4.503 upgrade this mod raises all the objects in the "Forbidden Zone" and all road and rails on the entire map float ~ 75 meters off the ground.  Dutch2's fix from the release of 4.008 does not solve the problem.

The Dev's never did want us flying over Moscow and now they have finally found a way to punish us for using this mod.  ?

@Effedb,  Thanks for the fix!:clapping:

I know this" illusion" has been around from several updates ago but I did think that one of the newer updates would cure the problem. So my question is this: is their an easy solution that will fix Moscow for all SM's and campaigns? That would be great!?

What exactly is the problem?

While using the “Fly over Moscow “Mod ,nearly all the building block buildings float about 20 feet over the ground, also some of the roads do too. The effect is completed by shadow effect. It seems tlike o me that Jason mentioned this glitch some months ago wit h a solution, if  I recall, required a correction to Moscow SM’s & Campaigns in the utility for creating missions, but now I’m not sure.I just let it go hoping it would cure itself. Now that I am in a Hurricane campaign on the Moscow map I have a little more reason to see if I can fix it.?

Here are screenshots that go a long way in describing what I'm talking about:

I think we can all see why the Germans stopped at Moscow.  Not enough ladders.

The issue is not just over the actual city when playing in the career, quite near to the airfield used by the Hurricane you can see raised roads, here before and after the bridge:

There was a instruction some time ago for mission/campaign builders to update their work, however, for the career we are not able to do so as far as I know this

will have to be done by the development team.

I also have the Moscow over fly mod installed, would that actually affect the maps?

On a separate issue I started one career mission in the Hurricane actually in German territory, some 200Km or is miles from where I expected to and the flight had to head towards moscow as though it was the attacking force to eventually find the |German aircraft orbiting close to Moscow:

I thought I had a image of the map where I took off, anyway, short of fuel following the eventual engagement I decided rather than try to fly back to the mission start point I would land at the nearest airfield within the Moscow area, all was okay as it turned out and I was able to contue the career, thankfully next take off was from where it should be.

Take care and be safe.

Wishing you all the very best, Pete.

One hopes the Officer's mess was well stocked for visiting aircrew ? Of course too much of a good thing may account for the floating buildings!

Hello Blitzen, I found turning off the over fly mod fixed the roads near to the Hurricanes base, I have found a updated file for the mod so will see if that improves things when re-activated.;)

Of course you could play it as a sort of floating obstacle course?

I hope you find an updated mod that will fix it tho...

The purpose of this mod is breaking the Soviet lines.
What can be found inside there is shrouded in a thick mist of mystery.
Some tell of glitches (the blasted "Dominion" ones!), others report of
a frightening device, the most secret weapon of Stalin's armies: the hideous "flying barracks"!

@Missionbug, please turn off the Mods and repeat the test.

As mentioned above I did that and it restored the road in the image so I assume it is a mod related issue, there is a update in the mod thread I found yesterday so I will try that next time I load the campaign and see if that returns the problem or not.;)

Moscow itself does not look bad when you overfly it so I cannot understand why you guys still insist on using the no fly area anyway, for bases close to the city it really is annoying.

Take care and be safe.

Wishing you all the very best, Pete.

Odd, I don't get the "Yankee Go Home" arrow.  I can't imagine what other mod could interfere with it.  I use it with the Moscow Green mod.

Maybe try re-downloading?

Sorry. I wasn't clear.  I meant that I installed the updated version and can again fly into the "Forbidden Zone".  But Pennywise still holds sway, "We all float down here."  ?

Yep, EffeDB, thanks, and Beebop ....... it WORKS.

I feel absolutely stupid once again. Had MODs turned off in the game for some testing, and forgot about that.

With Mods on all's well on the easterfront, Moscow, here we come!

Hello guys, can confirm the updated link works my side as well although in a quick fly over on return to base I did notice a few isolated buildings still slightly elevated but the author mentioned this so maybe that is related to whatever changes the team made to the map, all is good again and I only need to get stressed with seemingly invulnerable 109s.:drinks:

Thank you very much EffeDB for updating, really appreciated.:drink2:

Welcome to the club!  I've gotten used to that.  Thank god I don't take it personally or I wouldn't be able to afford IL-2 because that money would be used for visits to a psychiatrist. ?‍⚕️

CHANGED Post: Something is (maybe?) and WAS not right in the free-flight zone at first in my setup, for placing action stuff in a mission especially in the city area.

Only placing a Camera Operator at 80m height in the city seems not possible, with it's views from at least 10.000m high.

FIX: I reinstalled the freeflight 4.503 mod, guess an error first with my OvGME mods setup. Went back to JSGME.

Now the trains race also through Moscow City alright, and the buildings don't even look that bad with some slightly floating apartment buildings.

Use F5 for the trains, and speed up your time scale too maybe?

Both trains Russian, one train is pulled by a German loc; the Russian loc always seem to be the winner. Must be the star on the steam kettle.

Or some secret Olympics dope provided already in WW2?

(To see the show: start, set plane to autopilot and press F5 to watch the trainrace ...)

Hi All and EffeDB:

I have deleted my reply to avoid further confusion:

For 1 day it seemed to me that I have found a solution to extend the limits but the next day it did not work any more.

Sorry!

I have a question:

-Is it possible:

-To extend the flyable area of Odessa Map 20km to west?

-To extend the flyable area of the early Normandy map 20km to east?
