SOLIDKREATE Posted June 18, 2019 Posted June 18, 2019 If your game is failing to update. Go to your IL-2 folder and delete all the files in the 'UPDATE' folder. Relaunch IL-2 and it will update. 1 2
-332FG-Gordon200 Posted June 18, 2019 Posted June 18, 2019 @Arfsix also has advice from IL*2 Support regarding failure to launch after update. Quote The problem appears to have been solved by applying the following as suggested by Support; particularly removing read only property and running game and launcher as administrator. Thank you to Olga Yemelyanova of 1CGS Support Team <support@1cgs.net>. From FAQ about launcher and updating https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/5321-faq-about-launcher-and-updating/ 1) Before you start Remember that the game uses certain ports Setup or turn off your security software (antivirus, brandmauer, UAC, SmartScreen, etc.) Make sure that you're logged into Windows as Administrator Open context menu by a right click on game's icon, go to Compatibility settings and choose to Run as Administrator From Game setup and settings FAQ https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/2074-game-setup-and-settings-faq/#faq8 6) The game doesn't start, the application shuts down and a warning error message appears. What can be done here? You need to launch the game as Administrator. Click with the RMB on IL-2.exe (...\IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\bin\game\Il-2.exe), enter the menu and choose to run it as Admin. 13) Game crashes to desktop all the time, what's wrong? Find the catalog where the game is installed, enter the folder properties and remove the tick from Read Only field. Notice Before doing a complete uninstall and reinstall, try removing read only property from game folder (IL-2 Sturmovik Great Battles) and run launcher.exe and IL-2. exe as administrator. 1 1
Bilbo_Baggins Posted June 2, 2021 Posted June 2, 2021 Got a 'failed to update'. Tried downloading again but it is stuck on 2.16kb. Any ideas guys?
ubik_2008 Posted June 2, 2021 Posted June 2, 2021 This update appears to be not compatible with any, or maybe some, previous mods. What I did was disabling the only mod I have (clouds enhancement), then I deleted the update folder and launched the game. The update was downloaded again and now everything seems to be ok
E69_splash99 Posted June 3, 2021 Posted June 3, 2021 Hi, I'm getting an "error updating" when trying to update to 4.602. I tried to delete ..IL-2 Sturmovik Great Battles\updates\21-06-03 directory but no luck. is there anything I can do? Thanks.
TheAngryGamer_VR Posted June 5, 2021 Posted June 5, 2021 Ever since the new update, my game will not launch. I get a message saying there is a updated version accompanied by an error code 10005. I have restarted the PC, re installed the game, and I am still trying fixes but at this point I can not launch the game. Even tried searching the forums here for a fix that helps. Any suggestions? Thanks.
DD_Crash Posted June 5, 2021 Posted June 5, 2021 Delete the update folder in the Great Battles folder
rafib Posted June 9, 2021 Posted June 9, 2021 I think I tried all the suggestions brought in previous topics, such as launcher, exe, password. It gets worse messages, no internet connection... Thank you for your help
Oranges123* Posted June 27, 2021 Posted June 27, 2021 Dear flyers all, Can anyone help me with the above? I cannot get past this 'failure to update' when I try and install. Clicking on the game 'start' icon merely returns me to the loading page and the game starts reloading with the same result Any help MUCH appreciated. Kind regards Malcolm Furneaux

super-truite Posted November 20, 2024 Posted November 20, 2024 (edited) bumping this as I have the same issue after the last update on a Windows 11 computer. Not solved by removing the update folder. Had to reinstall completely. I update via the launcher. Edited November 20, 2024 by super-truite
