III/JG52_Supongo Posted June 4, 2019 Posted June 4, 2019 You do not see many JU52 in the online servers, and even less the U2.It may be interesting to give those who fly those planes many points if they fulfill specific missions, such as launching paratroopers (JU52) or discovering targets that do not appear on the map (only U2 should be able to discover these objectives).Specific bombings for these two planes would also be possible, for example to search, locate and bomb a convoy of trucks (with little or no AA).What do you think? Sorry for my bad english Supongo
69TD_Hajo_Garlic Posted June 4, 2019 Posted June 4, 2019 U2 is often available, at least on wol. Its just kinda suicidal to fly. Varied mission types, closer airfields to the front, and allowing all loadouts could probably help it see more use, although I wouldn't expect too much popularity because its low speed and vulnerability's make it pretty dangerous to fly.
Diggun Posted June 4, 2019 Posted June 4, 2019 I was having a blast the other day doing supply runs on TAW in my U2. Perfect for kicking back with a glass of something delicious, some chilled tunes* and a Benson and Hendrix. Not suitable if you're under time pressure. Particularly enjoyable at sunrise or sunset. *
Sketch Posted June 4, 2019 Posted June 4, 2019 (edited) It's rather hard to herd cats, especially when there's other "shiny" planes. The big problem right now is there's no log files generated when performing a task in the Ju52, so there's no stats stating how awesome a player is in the Ju52... Hence, most people don't fly it. Additionally, most players just want to shoot other players. Look at the many servers out there, yet people fly on Wings - "because it has people!!!!" As a designer, I'm not going to put in a lot of effort for little return from my player base, and I think most mission designers will agree with me. So that's why there's not many varied mission types and why there's not a lot of Ju52 and Po2 missions within a dogfight server. However, I do have some single player missions for the Ju52 and the Po2. You can check them out here: 11 minutes ago, 216th_Cathaoir said: Check out FNBF...have both this week. I agree with this statement. There are some really cool closed network events that have Ju52 and Po2 missions as well, as varied mission types. FNBF being one, ACG is another, and there's more out there... See this thread for more info: https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/forum/93-esports-and-events/ However, I think OP was talking about general dogfight servers. PatrickAWlson Posted June 4, 2019 Posted June 4, 2019 @[TWB]Sketch If there re no stats telling the world how awesome you are then hopefully there are also no stats telling the world how awful you are ... could be just the thing for me @III/JG52_Supongo Another SP offer: PWCG offers both Ju52 and u2 careers if that interests you. 1 1

Hah, I meant for most players... Not me specifically. /s
Velxra Posted June 4, 2019 Posted June 4, 2019 Seeing a JU52 designated spot in multiplayer is between far and to few. I like the JU52 and the biggest downside of flying it is that there is hardly ever a mission for it in multiplayer. So really it is a campaign plane or quick mission plane for the majority of time. I noted such in my review of it on steam for others to understand. 1

E4GLEyE Posted June 5, 2019 Posted June 5, 2019 (edited) when the Ju52 was new and shiny if I remember it correctly WOL had missions where you had to do para drops... Those were awesome! Flying low n slow under dogfighting planes while my gunner kept them checked we approached and made a successful drop on the smoke signal... Then were strafed and eventually shot down on our way back... Flew a few sorties that day but never saw that specific task for the tante Ju ever since.... Tho I am not a frequent MP flyer when I go up i usually end up flying the U2 with the two 100kg bombs Edited June 5, 2019 by E4GLEyE I hate touchscreens

I'm sure you sat through the whole 6 hours of it to get a balanced impression, rather than just deciding it was 'the worst' based on a couple of songs you had a kneejerk reaction to, right? Thanks anyway for your constructive and on-topic feedback. Shall we continue a discussion about the Ju-52 and U2 now? Edited June 5, 2019 by Diggun

It was pretty awful, but "Goodbye Pork Pie Hat" and "Better Days" were the absolute best songs on the list. Thanks! Not trying to go OT, but the list was right there in front of me. ?
