Panzerlang Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 Ping of 49 but major lag on 64 vs 65. Even so, it was pretty awesome.
HippyDruid Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 Is there a command to show player ping whilst on the server?
sallee Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 Pretty low fps for me as well, which only increased the feeling of terror!
Quax Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 (edited) How about limiting one server to 32 players ? Edited March 21, 2014 by Quax
YoYo Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 Very poor FPS now (and hmmmm, on single missions too, over Stalingrad 25, it was near 50 always). This motion blur is tragedy for me : ( .
sturmkraehe Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 Coop is essential for every virtual squadron. Imho a must have! 2
Mewt Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 (edited) Zak. Is the very low FPS my CPU or the servers? Edit: I get 60 FPS Ultra on SP, I'm getting 15 FPS on MP. Edited March 21, 2014 by Mewt
Zak Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 Zak. Is the very low FPS my CPU or the servers? Edit: I get 60 FPS Ultra on SP, I'm getting 15 FPS on MP. Shouldn't be CPU. We're testing that many players online for the first time so it's most possibly the server issue. Anyway let's wait for the results of this session's test.
Nil Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 Was really laggy (and too few russians (give them yaks next time)) freeze lagged into ground once and got a total game freeze with the message attatched.
SYN_Ricky Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 Very low FPS over the combat area, same error message as above. Still had some fun strafing the germain airfield in my Il-2
150GCT_Veltro Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 Stressing it with Ultra setting. 1MB UPLOAD - 4MB DOWNLOAD. Not a big problem with lag, but low or very low FPS.
NastyDog Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 (edited) Me were haveing a blast of a evening tonight .Lots of crach in to the ground ,some desktop craches , only still verry enjoy my evening online the frist time in a IL2 game Dev team thxx fore haveing a great evening Edited March 21, 2014 by NastyDog
sturmkraehe Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 (edited) Mh. I managed to play about 8 mins on the Europe Normal server at 64 players when apparantly they went down. Then they went up at 25 players but I always get kicked as soon as I make an attack. I now abandonned to play. With 64 players there had been some frequent mini freezes. Ping is quite high ( I am located in Europe and played on Europe servers). I strongly recommend to put spawn places beside the runway in order to reduce the spawn crash fest on a crowded server. FS_Fenice_1965 Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 Running quite ok for me. Good FPS and no particular lag. Played on the normal US server (I'm in Europe). I do not like so much that the image goes out of focus when I move head fast, but MP seems promising. I appreciated the visibility of the planes in the distance. Much easier to follow than it is with IL2. 1
Nil Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 I appreciated the visibility of the planes in the distance. Much easier to follow than it is with IL2. Have to agree with that one .. don't know if I actually killed anyone, but I caused some smokers at least. You can make out what plane it is you see on really good distance!
=38=Tatarenko Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 My main bug is that I keep hitting the ground with my propeller but I think that might be lack of talent. Is there a fix? 2

senseispcc Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 (edited) I tried the MP game and this are my impressions; first a lot of stutter (freeze of half a second every ten or so seconds of game. Second because maybe I did chose the EU expert server but the game is Russian speaking and the word "I am wounded" every minute or so is a little annoying. At take off I did see some planes, friendly, a minute later no one the sky was empty until the mission did crash without any sign of defect when my altitude got to 3000m. So I was back to the principal menu of the game. End of multiplayer for me. Like I said I did see anything or anyone with the exception of some smoke at Midway between the two airfields, Russian and German. The clouds where nice and maybe the cause why I did not see anyone. Nice but too much stutter. one last thing : because of the stutter the speed blur is very often present when it should not. Edited March 21, 2014 by senseispcc
oneeyeddog Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 My main bug is that I keep hitting the ground with my propeller but I think that might be lack of talent. Is there a fix? Try keeping your joystick pulled back a bit more when making your take off run.
Nil Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 My main bug is that I keep hitting the ground with my propeller but I think that might be lack of talent. Is there a fix? If it's the Yak, you just have to wait until 'enough' speed untill bringing up the tail, and be really careful
Schmalzfaust Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 Seems like clouds appear from nowhere. Very bad if you are dogfighting and loosing the enemy because you are in a cloud where shouldn't be one :D
Volkoff Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 Neat, I would like to play multiplayer for a few minutes, tonight. I wish I had a lot of time, but I am sure that my twenty minutes will be epic fun. I will soon add my wrecked LaGG-3 to the pile by the runway. Thank you to the team and testers for getting everything ready. MJ
Georgio Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 Great time in MP tonight ^^ Only real problems were the inevitable vulching of the Russian strips, but just airstarting at the other strip solved that one. I see that the LaGG has been beefed up a bit to make it competetive against the swarms of 109's. Bagged a couple of test pilots which was satisfying; most deaths seemed to be from random freezes but then when the servers were streamlined down everything got a lot smoother. Overall a good start for MP, no doubt the devs got plenty of data and we had a blast, so win-win... ^^ 1
sturmkraehe Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 Seems like clouds appear from nowhere. Very bad if you are dogfighting and loosing the enemy because you are in a cloud where shouldn't be one :D Oh yes, I forgot about that one. I am quite above clouds (about 100 m at least) and suddenly all gets fog. Also I think clouds are far to low. Should be at least 300-600 meters above ground for such a day. And I would like to know why I am always dropping out of the server.
=38=Tatarenko Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 Try keeping your joystick pulled back a bit more when making your take off run. Ha no, the take off is fine, it's running away from the enemy field in an Il-2 leaking fuel with a wounded gunner and two Messers on my tail, having just vulched the flock out of their mates and trying to dodge between trees. That's when I normally get a prop strike. Like I said, it's a talent issue. I'm damn good but not as good as I think. Not by a long way. Did get a lovely kill with a 250 on 1 sec delay though 1
=BKHZ=Furbs Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 Played for about 30mins on the EU server, bit chopy at the start but in the air it was pretty smooth and didnt see any lag, good fun, if a bit easy vs the poor Laggs. Good first test for me.
Wulf Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 Hola all, MP is too stuttery to play for me as well :: No big deal. If the game doesn't boot. No big deal. If the plane doesn't trim. No big deal. If the mulitplayer is jitters. No big deal. If all your planes have only one prop blade. No big deal. etc etc etc. There is no onus on the devs, what-so-ever, to have a functioning game right now. This early access is on a best effort basis. When you see things that are not as they should be *and you don't think that 1C already knows* it is nice to bring them up. In all other cases there is no purpose to bringing it up. You can, of course, do so. But there is more substantial effect on the world when farting in the wind. Have fun with what we have. It is really nice to see the build-out piece by piece. Perhaps it would benefit those that are frustrated to think of this as a building with the main floor mostly fleshed out and the upper levels still girders, pipes, and conduit. The doors need locks, but not before the walls have plaster and all that. I would really love to have more developers open the doors early like this. For me, it is because I love to see the construction. For others their reasons may differ, but I urge everyone to make the concept of early access pleasant for the developers of the game. This way we may be fortunate enough to see game development closer to the metal in the future as well. Thanks! Yeah, I agree. As far as I'm concerned I've already had my money's worth. This is a fascinating process. Hey, but don't get me wrong, I still expect a highly polished game to come out of this and I'll go all bitter and twisted very quickly if it doesn't happen but I've really enjoyed the ride so far. I expect glitches at this point. It's no big deal. We are absolutely getting where we want to be week by week. Fantastic stuff.
Zappatime Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Returning to MP after a very low fps EU - Normal server, I came back and tried the EU -Expert and later on the US-Expert, both seem to run a lot better, fps between 30-50 again; perhaps it was the 64 players overhead on the 'EU-Normal server that killed the fps. Very playable on Expert servers and a lot of fun, though my rear gunner in the il2 didnt do a lot I was flying cannon fodder for the 109s but still enjoyable

Feathered_IV Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Connected ok to the US expert-light server (couldn't see an expert one like EU has). FPS is fine, server was about half full. Navigated twice to area where ground targets was supposed to be. No flak or ground objects in evidence. Aircraft took damage to the engine both times after a while, with no evidence of being hit. Very odd. Has anyone else seen a truck or tank yet?
Wolfstriked Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Haven't tried MP yet but can say that SP has the FPS issues also.Got stuck at 30fps for a good while and now its a bit better but not what I had before the latest update.
=69.GIAP=TUSHKA Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 I am getting a "[21:13:04] Checking for updates [21:13:06] Failed to get latest version" error version when trying to update. Nil Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 3 weeks ago there was an introduction of a new launcer, and you either have to uninstall and reinstall (With the new launcer (http://il2sturmovik.com/download/)) or look at the forums for what directory to delete..
RedGuard Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Nice, I suppose... 4.3 billion potential simmers brushed off in Asia ! Need a server in either HK, Tokyo or Singapore. Red 1

Volkoff Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 (edited) Very low FPS over the combat area, same error message as above. Still had some fun strafing the germain airfield in my Il-2 Yeah, it depends on the server, Ricky. On the US Expert server I had the same problems that you encountered, but when I tried the US Expert light server, I had pretty smooth sailing. Experiment with different servers. I bet there is one where you will get a much better connection, smooth performance, etc. I hope my advice is of help. MJ Edited March 22, 2014 by =69.GIAP=MIKHA
M4rgaux Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 With settings on low, with cinematic off in the camera settings, everything is smooth when the server are bellow 40 player or so. What bug me is the lag, I see some people warping through space and time... The launcher doesn't close itself on game launch, which might be a cause of lag for many people... (Really kill my connection until I shut it down)
Volkoff Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 The LaGG-3 is a whole lot of fun in multiplayer. While I have yet to get the full experience of using the LaGG-3 while working with the 69 Giap on TS, I was greatly impressed with the LaGG-3. If a SIM pilot has really good situational awareness, the LaGG-3 does a great job of evading high speed slashing attacks. I had full fuel and the LaGG was nimble enough to avoid getting hit. Her main weakness, other than being generally inferior to the Bf-109, is that a spin very close to the deck is very hard to get out of. All and all, I had a great time using the LaGG-3 in multiplayer. I look forward to the Yak-1 vs Bf-109 f-4 matchup and getting to use the LaGG and Yak with my virtual squad mates, over TS. It is past my bedtime, so thanks to the team and the testers and good night! MJ @ Tushka, I wish I knew the solution, so you can play this weekend.
