Very good initial impression. I also encountered some lag and stuttering but I was connected to an EU server and my ping was 200+. The No. American servers are not up yet.

Resorted to Normal settings Eu server.

Taking off Airfield proves worse than joining an auto scooter game LOL

So tried Air start but Trackir failure there while not previously and not in SP, had to bug out of the server for that check ??

After which no way to hold on to master server 'cause losing connection :O)

Now the download rate dropped to 30 kb/s. Maybe the servers are overloaded!

Very laggy and crashed mid way through - what a disappointment. Motion blur was awful. Would rather have waited a few more weeks for it to be finished properly.

 

Not sure when this game is gonna get out of the pre-alpha stage and become a WW2 combat sim.  At the minute feels like it is a Microsoft flight simulator for the 109 and Lagg 3

Well, if it is unplayable this weekend I hope they get some good data on the causes.

ARMA 3 had working MP in Alpha state- is it really expecting too much to have working MP after nearly 6 months of waiting

The N American servers are up now and The stuttering for me is very much reduced.

"Dropped"?  That sounds like an increase!

Maybe is all about overloaded servers, nothing about the sim itself. All the founders are downloading it. I am downloading 5 ~ 10 kb/s by now! :dry:

MP is unplayable...

 

0 to 15 FPS when I usually get between 40 to 50... 

 

Even downgrading graphic settings it is still just horrible... 

 

Hope this week end will help devs to get good information and sort this out....

You can get rid of motion blur by disabling Cinematic effects. MP has been up less than 1 hour, so I urge patience.

Dear Developers,

i am really happy with the Simulator. Multiplayer works very good!! Have wait long for this. 

It´s so much more realistic as IL 2 Cod in flight !!

 

Hope really you will integrate COOP and Teamspeak in this. i will pay an extra fee for this if necessary.

 

I love this Simulator. Thanks a lot!!! You made my day.

IMO that´s the problem... i hope... I have been playing ROF with 30-35 max players and in some circunstanses with little stutter... 65 players on same time is too much i think.

It's at 44% complete?! They are testing larger scale MP för the first time.. what did you expect?

Lag party for me. Trying to look outside of a parked aircraft impossible. Chop, chop, chop...

Seems like many had same issue - aircraft spawning one on top the other, driving trhough parked aircraft... I know it's a test run, yet a very disappointing one.

Will wait for more advanced game version.

Well that was absolutely unplayable.

 

0-15 fps. Large hangups when looking around. Impossible to do any kind of MP.

 

Good luck devs - seems we have still a long way to go :)

My experience on the No. American server was much smoother than on the EU server. 3 times I was able to airstart the Stuka and make a dive bombing attack on the forward enemy base, escaping at treetop level (1 RTB ). I thought it was Big Fun. I did get kicked with the following error message: ISound FMODSOUND:create instance

I think that it's GREAT!!!  I'm in US on the USA server with only 45 players and a ping of like 40, and it's a RIOT!!!   At better than 30 FPS at ultra setting it is certainly smooth enough to play, and the scene is like a bunch of 12 year olds at their first dance, a big crown of red at one end and a big crowd of blue at the other, and everybody is timid about venturing into the middle...it might not be a  historic scene, but it sure is fun!!!

I'm curious as to why there are only 2 servers...and even more curious as to why they have different difficulty settings. I'm sure people in the US and would like to play with no icons too.

Hola all,

MP is too stuttery to play for me as well :: No big deal.

 

If the game doesn't boot. No big deal.

If the plane doesn't trim.  No big deal.

If the mulitplayer is jitters. No big deal.

If all your planes have only one prop blade. No big deal.

etc etc etc.  There is no onus on the devs, what-so-ever, to have a functioning game right now.

 

This early access is on a best effort basis. 

 

When you see things that are not as they should be *and you don't think that 1C already knows*  it is nice to bring them up.

 

In all other cases there is no purpose to bringing it up. You can, of course, do so. But there is more substantial effect on the world when farting in the wind.

 

Have fun with what we have. It is really nice to see the build-out piece by piece. Perhaps it would benefit those that are frustrated to think of this as a building with the main floor mostly fleshed out and the upper levels still girders, pipes, and conduit. The doors need locks, but not before the walls have plaster and all that. 

 

I would really love to have more developers open the doors early like this. For me, it is because I love to see the construction. For others their reasons may differ, but I urge everyone to make the concept of early access pleasant for the developers of the game. This way we may be fortunate enough to see game development closer to the metal in the future as well.

I had a few good flights in the IL-2, fps slow but bearable. Best moment was dropping a 250kg bomb on 5 aircraft formed up for take off on the runway while dodging fighters and AA. They always got me in the end though. Didn't make it home once.

 

Would like to see how it runs with 32 players instead of 64.

 Tested a couple sorties. 1kill and one damaged, one death. Flew the LagG-3. Performance was good if you were far from other players and got worse the closer you got down to noticeable drop in FPS. Lag was also very prominent even ping showed 71ms. But otherwise the menus and options worked just fine, the basics are there. Got this buffer error on first sortie and had to kill IL-2 process with TaskManager, second sortie went OK except the performance issues. Still great promise as you can use clouds tactically and tactics do matter and knowing your plane, even at this point with unfinished planes. Was fun!

Well, first of all thank you for the first stress-test, gentlemen! It's great that it is actually possible to play properly. Evidently, not everyone is that lucky thou.

Secondly, of course we're gathering a lot of feedback now, and will allows us to continue our work after this huge milestone is reached.

No Aussie server love?

Connection to the US server shows a ping of about 180+, generally that's pretty playable. However there does seem to be quite a bit of rubber banding.

 

Prehaps it's just the high volume of traffic connecting/disconnecting. 

I will test it out a bit more after I mow the lawn.

no it didn't. it still doesn't have working mp one year after release.

Everyone just focus on BOS, leave other products out of it. Just post your experience if you want to be helpful to the team. Overtly hostile comments to us or others will be deleted.

I see it like a performance test to collect some data for later fixing. It's alpha, we can be happy to try it out and improve it by bug reports etc. We can't effort whining about this state of progress... bugs here bugs there fixing here finxing there, that's the way of development :P

 

At all IMO it looks like the base concept is running very stable and it's all about some tweaking and changing parameters... BoS will be a great new MP sim experience!

And by the way - please, keep playing, keep trying to login - the stress test is still on and all the data we gather this weekend is precious and important for further improvements. :salute:

One question: Is it normal that stats does not appear if I press TAB? It just says loading.

I too have a very big drop in fps, down to around 18-25fps, normally 50-60fps. I have not tried dropping quality yet, currently playing maxed out ultra settings, I was surprised how low fps was but there was a lot of activity all around the airbase (about 35 players in game on the Eu normal server). Early days. I had a total game crash after second take off, with some error about sound, sorry didn't note exact error message as it then bombed out totally. I did sink a few shots in a Stuka's @rse end before crashing though :-D

One question: Is it normal that stats does not appear if I press TAB? It just says loading.

There's no stats in MP yet. So the TAB key has nothing to show you :)
