1./JG42Nephris Posted April 22, 2019 Posted April 22, 2019 Hi folks, maybe you can point a blind dog to where in the editor I can find the NDB object. I am pretty sure it was an own object ,but I cant find it anymore ?. Is there any configuration to be made at the NBD, when set on the map, to work with related aircrafts? Thx .?
TP_Silk Posted April 22, 2019 Posted April 22, 2019 It's listed as a Vehicle. You need to place it on the map, set the coalition and then set the channel to '1' for it to work. 1
Sketch Posted April 23, 2019 Posted April 23, 2019 An image to support @TP_Silk's post: Notes: - In order to modify the NDB, you must make it a linked entity. - Beacon channel is sort of like an on-off switch. Both Russian and German should be set to 1 for on, 0 for off. - There are ways to modify the beacon channel when other events fire off.

You can set it to anything other than 0 and the beacon will be on. The NDB (and the radio beacon in the plane) knows which beacon to point at based on the country settings, not the channel settings. Here's an example from Alozno's Combat Box mission "Battle for Kalinin". As you can see, both the German and Russian NDB's are set to 1. I went ahead and threw up a test mission verifying that setting both German and Russian radio beacons to one is fine. 1
Habu Posted April 24, 2019 Posted April 24, 2019 I agree with Sketch. At that time, it's on/off, and not a setting for any channel.
Alonzo Posted April 28, 2019 Posted April 28, 2019 Hmmm. If we didn’t need the beacons for finding airfields, could we do something interesting with them for mission targets? Like waypointing? How do you turn them on or off?
Sketch Posted April 28, 2019 Posted April 28, 2019 In multiplayer, it really won't work well because the beacon turns on for the whole team, confusing the players as to which beacon is correct. However, the NDB is a vehicle for a reason, and enabling, disabling, and spawning should work like any other vehicle. ?

Spawned NDB does not work, but activating/deactivating an NDB does work. Which means, each NDB is a 'one-time-use'... If you deactivate the NDB sometime in your mission, you can not reactivate it. Thanks for the heads up @LLv34_Temuri! 1

Thanks for the heads up @LLv34_Temuri! Situation for 4.003b by some testing: - spawning and de-spawning a NDB is possible. That NDB won't send a signal, I found no way to activate it. - a NDB placed at the beginning is doing fine, one can activate and de-activate it at will Edited December 27, 2019 by JG4_Retnek typo
