[DS]_Spooner Posted December 2, 2020 Posted December 2, 2020 (edited) I have been using your generator all year and I must say its been brilliant. However, with the latest updates, I can no longer select the aircraft types for a coop mission. Am I doing something wrong? Edit: I was doing something wrong... had to select a mission type other than random. Cheers! Edited December 2, 2020 by Spooner Updated info

Check if all the files are still there. A normal install looks like: media (folder) -> containing some .png files template (folder) -> containing template files config.ini EasyMissionGenerator.exe Did you perhaps move or delete any of these by accident?
flak1962 Posted December 5, 2020 Posted December 5, 2020 thank for reply no nothing was altered just dl mission editor ,create mission, play mission to test then back to mission builder and it fails
-=No.66=-Griff1999 Posted December 7, 2020 Posted December 7, 2020 (edited) Howdy again Vander, I wanted to ask if it's possible to make some kind of map modification integration with the generator? So for example, Kuban -> North Africa Mod, from the generator window. Cheers, Griff Edited December 7, 2020 by -=No.66=-Griff1999
Stonehouse Posted December 8, 2020 Posted December 8, 2020 Use the Channel map option with the mod turned on and that should give you North Africa missions although you may need to edit the mission to tweak fine details like tropical air filters on Hurricanes or skins.

Stonehouse Posted December 8, 2020 Posted December 8, 2020 It works pretty well although if it was possible to set the aircraft customisation (eg trop filter) in EMG somehow it would be a lot less tedious. I've tried to see if you could customise the EMG ini file but doesn't seem possible. I guess that adding the ability to do that might be a step too far in Vander's viewpoint. So usually all you need to do is open the mission in the editor, check each aircraft and set skin if needed (often the default is ok) and customisation and perhaps change a FW190 A3 to a 109 F2 or F4 or E7. FYI that the file skins.tab.eng in the Nth Africa mod is quite a useful reference for figuring out which skin is equal to the skin choices in the editor.
TikiBar_Ted Posted December 19, 2020 Posted December 19, 2020 This is a fantastic application for us new folks. We are having a blast making coops using it. As we learn a bit more, we try new things, one of which is the Bendix nav guage. It never seems to work in our coop missions, so I was wondering if an NDB or Nav aid is generated at home field when the mission is built. Thanks for the response. TbT

TbT There should be an active beacon at your home field, but I'll double check. EDIT: I checked and you are right, it has gone! I'll add it back in the template. SYN_Vander Posted December 20, 2020 Author Posted December 20, 2020 And as promised a new version before Christmas ladies and gentlemen: Release Notes v41 -Added Non Directional Beacon (NDB) to home airfield. It is part of the resupply area, so the antenna can help you find it. -For Intercept mission added search area on the map when intercepting (fighter)bombers -Replaced smoke effects with new continuous ones -Added status 'Generated!' to Create Mission button -Fixed: Removed static planes blocking runway on Novosokolniki airfield (Velikieluki) -Fixed: Rescue objective was missing for one of the Stalingrad fronts Download here: https://sites.google.com/view/il2-great-battles-emg/ 1 2 3
DD_FT- Posted December 20, 2020 Posted December 20, 2020 Quote -Added status 'Generated!' to Create Mission button Vander, this kinda works: The button does show 'Generated', but goes back to 'Create Mission' when one presses the 'OK' dialogue box. So, yeah, one could state 'do not press that OK button' ... but hey ho, I've been using Microsoft's products for way too long - any of those boxes gets a click like automatically! Can't help it!

Yeah, I just realized that... you probably need to add code to each and every item that one can change... What if you add a counter on how much time has elapsed since the last time button was pressed? Or maybe show the system time when the mission was generated? Keep it simple - in the end, it's basically a very specific request ... one we can work around just fine. It's a luxury request ... in the end it shows how good your work is - lol 1
DD_Friar Posted December 26, 2020 Posted December 26, 2020 As FT says, it was a "nice to have" request, so no worries. Many thanks once again.
Chief_Mouser Posted December 27, 2020 Posted December 27, 2020 Hi Vander. Is there any chance that you can alter the dates for the front on Velikiye Luki to start in July 41 rather than September? The German army appeared on the SW corner of the map on 15th July, and about one-third of the map was under their control all through August. It's a lovely map and EMG is a perfect tool for utilising it. Your hard work is much appreciated. Cheers.
Startrek66 Posted January 1, 2021 Posted January 1, 2021 Hello and Happy New Year, I have installed version 41 of the utility. In a generic folder under windows programs, I have correctly indicated the main folder of il2 Bos in the utility menu, but the mission generated is not seen by the simulator. Yet if I check in the missions sub-folder, I find it correctly saved with the name I had chosen. Where am I wrong?

I suspect that you are running the game in the same time when you create your missions with the generator? Try to generate your mission first and after that, launch your game. 1

Did you use an improper character or characters like quotation marks ( " ), exclamation marks (!), or special characters like hashtag (#) or star (*)? CAPITALS and underscores (_) are allowed but not much else. Although the file appears in the mission folder the game cannot read special characters. Edited January 1, 2021 by Beebop

SYN_Vander Posted January 1, 2021 Author Posted January 1, 2021 Check which map or aircraft you are using. You may not have bought it yet. 1

DD_FT- Posted January 1, 2021 Posted January 1, 2021 You got dogfight selected as 'Game Type'. Change to 'Single Mission' and it should work...
SYN_Vander Posted January 1, 2021 Author Posted January 1, 2021 Correct. Perhaps I should rename Dogfight to Multiplayer: Dogfight or something.

In my opinion they are positioned too close together.

I chose current distance because I have to able to fit 10+ aircraft on the airstrip and runway length is usually quite short. Were there any problems with AI? Or a particular aircraft? So far I haven't seen any problems and we have flown several coop missions as a squad starting on the runway.

Absolutely no problem. Mine is an observation of an aesthetic nature only. One question, how do I import skins? Where can I find a tutorial on settings?

Check here: https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/forum/91-skins-and-templates/ Skins go in the folder of the specific aircraft, ie: C:\Program Files\1C Game Studios\IL-2 Sturmovik Great Battles\data\graphics\skins\P40E1

The "Planes" folder is used for the Normal maps and Custom photos. If you accidentally put the skin .dds in there you won't see it as a choice in the 'Custom' skins setup.
Startrek66 Posted January 3, 2021 Posted January 3, 2021 I was able to use a skin for my bf109 f4. Is it normal that the rest of my wingmen also have the exact same skin as me?

Then before you start the mission you can set your own skin in the game.

Dawg35 Posted January 9, 2021 Posted January 9, 2021 Would it be possible to completely randomize the opposing side in a Coop mission? Currently I can set "random" for the mission type flown by the opposing side but I still have to input the starting airfield, altitude, air activity and AAA competence etc. I'd like to have all of this randomized and I only have control over what my side is going to do, and I have no idea about the other side until I fly. Thanks.
Mysticpuma Posted January 10, 2021 Posted January 10, 2021 Hi Syn. Your mission builder is a great tool and I am loving using it. So having no idea how it works and what can be done, is it possible to add more life to the home airbase and target airbase? I just wondered if there was a way to have moving vehicles, maybe munitions vehicles, humans.... just a bit more activity for the take off base and similarly when attacking a target having vehicles driving around the apron, etc, etc? Just asking. Cheers, Mysticpuma

Ecc.? Solo per chiedere. Salute, Mysticpuma If the developer of the utility decides to insert these requests, I hope that the function is not by default and that everyone can decide whether to insert it or not. This is to avoid overloading the CPU. Besides what you ask yourself, Pwmg does it very well.
Startrek66 Posted January 11, 2021 Posted January 11, 2021 I noticed that at the end of the mission, even though I have landed correctly, the mission summary identifies me as down. It is not always the case but it has happened.
