Forgive me if this is explained elsewhere, but since Patrol has been replaced by Intercept, is there a way to set up something like a 4v4 dogfight for a single player mission? I.E. not an interdict mission because I don't necessarily want to fight bombers, but just something like 4 Mustangs v. 4 190s? I seem to have missed it if it's documented somewhere.

You are correct: It's not a scenario currently. Of course you can do that pretty easily in the built in Quick Mission Builder in IL2.

True, but you can't do takeoff and landing / etc. Nonetheless, thank you for the confirmation. Appreciate all the hard work!

You can if you choose "Parked" or "Runway" instead of an altitude.

I have had this game for a long time and I never scrolled up past 300m in the QMB...I didn't realize you could runway or parked start in the 1v1. I feel like a complete idiot, wow.

Hey co199, don't beat up on yourself.  Nobody becomes a genius in this, or any, game, just because they've played it for a while.  (Although there are always a few who think they are).  This is a very complex game which is why it's one of the best, (if not the best IMO), WWII flight sim. 

Yes, we all learn something new every day if we are trying to become better at what we do.  I figure I'll be learning something new about this sim for many, many years to come and that is why I like it so much.

Finally, only apologize when you do something you knew you shouldn't have done, (and then don't do it again).

Exactly why IL2 keeps you busy and it's probably the only game that will keep you interested and doesn't get boring ... lots of other high class sim games do IMO. i know, this remark is a:

-Added Velikieluki map with one front
-Airfield location selection now based on specific airfield name
-Added Maps and front lines to the EMG website, see section tips & tricks.
-Removed front option 'by date' as airfields now have to be specifically chosen
-Extended frontlines in Rheinland map for oct-nov 1944 to include Rheine airfield to accomodate Me-262 better
-Fixed mixing up of AI Bombers skin in Dogfight mode (happened only during winter)
-Fixed Quad maxim on GAZ truck would appear on WW1 map
-Added position in flight to briefing for single player missions

Your constant attention is well appreciated and enjoyed. Thank you SYN_Vander. I have been looking forward to the ability to select airfield location in order to have a more historic campaign style set of missions for the Squadron.

Hello, first of all thanks for your work.
A while ago we had a problem with the Mission Generator in Dogfight, we were 9 pilots of the squadron but within the game at the time we were 6 pilots in the cockpit, all the airfields were closed and the rest of the pilots could not select base or nothing, as if there was space. I have looked at the server options and my maximum pilots limit was 30, is it possible that I have done something wrong? Has the rest happened the same? I have used the generator many times and this is the first time this situation has occurred to us.

Very strange. Please share your mission so I can see what's going on. Perhaps a problem with factions?

He first gave us problems with one that we launched by Velikiye Luki, which made me think that it might be the problem being one of the new maps and not being completely updated, but then we tried this one that you can see in the stalingrad image, And the same thing happened to us, 6 players in the cockpit, the rest could not, all the airfields blocked.

I even accessed the mission in the editor and created aerodromes without having any link, and removing the options of infinite planes and putting x10 limited planes and nothing ... we were still only able to fly 6 people of the 9 that we were

*Apologies in advance if this issue has been posted before*

 

First off - thank you so much for this software! My squadron uses it tons for our squadron and training missions and we are extremely grateful for your work with this.

 

Is anyone else having an issue where they generate a co-op mission, host it (successfully), have your friend join it only to have your friend load for 10 minutes and then get kicked back to the MP menu without error message? Any help/direction here would be much appreciated!

Sometimes it happens that hosting a new coop mission does not allow some of my friends to enter the server, as if for some reason completely unknown to me the transfer of the mission was blocked or was incomplete. Generally I solve everything by distributing the mission files personally to each of the participants and having them manually copy it in the correct way, in this way everyone connects normally. I don't know if this can have any relevance or if it can help, in our case it always works!

Is it perhaps because the mission had the same name as a previously hosted mission? See if it helps if the others delete the old mission files first.

Not in my case,  i save each new mission with a brand new name  .

Hey guys so it turns out that it was a port forwarding issue the entire time - I recently installed a new motherboard and completely forgot that the device would have been assigned a new IP address (which I forgot to update in my router settings).

 

If anyone is having issues where you're getting kicked back to the MP menu without an error message, it's likely to do with port forwarding! Have the host and all clients double-check their port settings and hopefully you get success there.

Do you delete the .mission file before hosting? The text version of the mission file can get quite big and is not necessary when hosting

I think this has probably been covered, but I've gone through a lot of the posts and cant find the answer. Please can someone clarify the below if possible?

 

(I'm on Steam if that is why this doesnt work?)

 

I have just about all the DLC, but I want to create a co-op just for 'BOS' without any of the extra planes ETC - I select Stalingrad, but no matter what historical planes or not when I leave plane on 'any' it will randomly select a plane, (sometimes even a collector plane that I dont have) there is no option to pick a plane when creating the server no matter what I do. - IF I select a plane, IE YAK1 it;ll be just that plane.

 

How do I set it so you can pick a plane at the start of the mission? (or should I create separate missions for plane types? - is that the way it works?)

 

Second, when I create a 'dogfight' it puts the mission files in the dogfight folder, the co-op doesnt allow you to change folders, if I move them to the appropriate folder the game still doesnt 'see' them when setting up the mission, so there is no way to select this mission on the co-op server creation.

Works very well.  Missions run and feel very similar to the missions career mode generates.

 

For some reason Enemy positions keep showing on the map even if I uncheck that box in the generator.  I assume enemy positions mean the red circles around the icons with general locations of artillery, tanks... that we see in the quick mission builder.   I have been using this to generate flying circus Single missions mostly.  Very simple to use, quick, clean and no errors.

I tried a couple of dogfighting missions on the veluki map, with the 'any' setting for planes. I really like the map and I'd like to have some massive dogfights over the city. But the missions aren't very interesting unfortunately. Three times now we quite quickly intercept the first bomber flight, and that's it. No fighters. That's not correct right? So the use case is, me and a buddy spawn into one side and we go hunt for enemy AI fighters.

 

Two more general requests: Veluki in the winter, and the option to restrict for plane sets. So, early war, mid war, late war, something like that. Then I'd be dogfighting roughly equal planes, but it would be a surprise which ones exactly.

Have a hard time understanding what the problem is exactly. In Single and Cooperative modes you can choose plane types for both red and blue flight. I suspect the configuration panel is still ‘collapsed’. Click on the icons on the left; it will show all the configuration options for that panel

 

You shouldn’t need to move mission files around. Coop missions won’t work in Dogfight folder and vice versa. 
 

You can’t respawn in coop, It’s by design unfortunately.

If unticked you shouldn’t see enemy Objective icons, but you will still see enemy AAA.

Yes, I replaced the intercept enemy fighters with enemy bombers. Still, if you set enemy activity to “high” enemy fighters should be hunting you I think. I might add a simple “dogfight” scenario.

Dogfight would be awesome. Or a more complex set up where you can choose how many fighters and/or bombers, and what they're going to do! Like one group of stuka's attacking ships and a group of heinkels attacking the airfields.

-Added Haze tick box in weather section. Unticked: low haze setting, random between 0.1 and 0.3. Ticked: high haze setting, random between 0.5 and 1.0.
During dawn/dusk this can also result in ground fog (50% chance).

Regarding the previous post about the dogfight mission, would it be too much trouble to ask to re-add the Patrol mission type? I enjoy those just as much as escort missions and sometimes it's nice to just go hunting without having to worry about the big boys.

Thanks SYN_Vander for the quick update for the latest patch!

 

An issue I don't see mentioned so maybe it is only happening to me but whenever I try to assign skins to various flights it never works, the flights still have the default skins. Anyone else seeing this? Am I doing something wrong?

I'm having a problem running the application.  I get a Fatal error detected message with "Failed to execute script EasyMissionGenerator".   Is this just me?
