Ok NP buddy

Posted

Hope you don't mind me asking, but will this be available for public release?

Before the campaign comes out, that is. Great work by the way.

Hey Fenchy,

What you’re looking at here is simply the campaign in it's pre-alpha state.

It’s possible that I might have a pre- release treat to share. However I’m not sure about that yet, and even if I do it won’t be until the map is released.

I will keep you informed when/if the time comes for a “teaser” so to speak. :)

Oh, sorry, I was unclear, I was eyeing the skins so hard that I thought what I meant would have been obvious. Not that the campaign doesn't interest me as well, but for that I can wait.

Bugs did a right smacking job on these Jugs, as usual.

Hey Gambit

I will have the Judy Ann, Clobber Girl, Fickle Finger and Bette Girl done by the Sunday night and then I will do a few other easier ones from the 365th to complete the pack....I think this will be enough, plus if you have a few player used skins we can do those too. Look for the link Sunday night my friend!

OK Gambit here's a few shots of the completed.....Clobber Girl is Finished along with Bette Girl and Fickle Finger. I'm going to do Ol Smokie, Sugah!, and Jody III that should round it out for me buddy!  Unless you still need me to do the player skins that's fine as well.

Salute!

Well, I just got an answer from Spektre and no, that’s not him. He made some but not from the hell hawks and not the screemin Weemie.

so my request is still active.

Is there a chance to have it done?

Screaein Weemie, black nose, red devil B4-H is done and I do believe I got it in Spektre's thead.  So start in page one and go thru the entire thread.

I surely trust you but he just told me that he doesn’t design it.

maybe I didn’t check the right thread...

Sorry I was wrong it's in this skin thread post

Sorry...........

Other people besides Specktre and Bugsy have posted skins in Spektre's P-47 skin post, I forgot this was the one Gambit started to get skins for his campaign.

Hey Bugs,

I'm going to email you this art layer.

Could you please do both of these versions, with a letter designation not yet used in another skin?

Whether that be C4-Y, or A, or J etc.

Thank you much.

Ooh...I like that.

Was that aircraft flying during the same time-frame as the other ones?

Yes

Hers a pic of Polly with other P-47s in background. There were a few others that kept the OD green colors

I like the idea of having that variation. Both in the air and sitting on the field.

Good stuff.

Was Turnip Termite are common phrase back in the 30s and 40s? There was also a P-51B in the 4thFG named Turnip Termite. Seems an odd coincidence.

Actually there were a few aircraft that shared the same name per say...A lot of bombers took some of the fighter's nicknames as well, maybe added a I or II after it....Example Blondie was shared by a fighter and a bomber

Here's a Superfortress the has the same name as a P-47 from the 386th "Fickle Finger"

Sure I knew that. Most were common phrases, movie or book titles, something familiar to most guys from that time.

Did some looking and found Turnip Termite was the same. It originated as a comic strip character from the Lil' Abner comic strip.

Love Google.

@Gambit21 Sorry I've been out of the frame my friend. I haven't got the money to buy THAT book anyway. It does however seem that you've got it nailed with ol' Bugsy so if you DO need any help then just send me what you need and I'd be happy!

OK Guys

This is my final skin for the 388th FG Hellhawks, it's the "JODY III" from the 386th FS and it was flown by 1st Lt. John "Mooney" Rogers. It was really a lot of fun doing this skinpack for Gambit and I wish him all the best on his Bodenplatte Campaign.

Salute!
