sammydee Posted January 28, 2019 Posted January 28, 2019 Although I've had BoS , BoM and Kuban for quite some time now I've never tried recording any flights. Left Control + R is set as the starting keys but this doesn't work for me. I've tried resetting to different key combos but no go.Looking through previous posts relating to this I'm not seeing anything relevant to my problem. I have the Steam editions of BoS and BoM and I was wondering if this was the problem somehow.
AndyJWest Posted January 28, 2019 Posted January 28, 2019 Does the camera-in-a-red-circle recording symbol appear (top right corner of screen) when you press Left Control + R?
sammydee Posted January 28, 2019 Author Posted January 28, 2019 Hello Andy, thanks for your reply, I should have mentioned that, no I don't get that symbol.
sammydee Posted January 29, 2019 Author Posted January 29, 2019 Just tried validating my game files on Steam but still nothing. Should this work on missions I've created and saved from the Editor?
AndyJWest Posted January 29, 2019 Posted January 29, 2019 I don't see why that should make any difference. Just a thought, take a look at the folder the tracks are saved in (it is IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\data\Tracks on my setup, but Steam may do it differently) and check it isn't set to read only.
sammydee Posted January 29, 2019 Author Posted January 29, 2019 Thanks Andy you nailed it. There was no 'Tracks' folder in 'data'. I checked all the other folders to see if the setup was different on Steam but nothing anywhere. I made a 'Tracks' folder and dropped it into 'data' and now it's all working fine. Thanks again. SOLVED.
Dallas88B Posted May 2, 2019 Posted May 2, 2019 (edited) @sammydee @AndyJWest Mate of mine had exact same problem. I found the solution you suggested it sorted his flight recording too. He too was missing the Tracks Folder. Thanks very much for sharing the problem and solution. Edited May 2, 2019 by Dallas88B error in addressing response 1
Velxra Posted May 3, 2019 Posted May 3, 2019 Strange how the steam validation system did not catch this missing folder. Seems like the devs need to update the steam download file to fix this problem. 1
