Exiting the game with it still running in the background

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone

When I leave the game and have it run in the background and then return to it again, then it will take 30 seconds or longer for it to connect again  Is there anyway that I can connect instantly? I use Ctrl+Alt+Delete to get out of the game.

Hope someone can help me out :drinks:

Cheers

Try Alt-Tab

Thanks Sevenless. It helped at lot and made it easier to switch between programs and the game. But there is still a periode of about 10 seconds where the game is frozen when I get into it Again. Is this normal? Any way around this problem?

I've never experienced that in IL-2 at any point. That's certainly weird from my experience.

Windows 10?

It seems like the quality of alt-tabbing varies from update to update, computer to computer. I used to have to press alt-tab twice to get out of the game on my PC, but then one day it suddenly stopped doing it.

Sometime after 3.001 my alt tab went from instantaneous to complete computer freeze for upwards of 1.5 minutes until the game resumes. Usually this also decouples the mouse cursor from the game window and I end up with two cursors on screen. I've yet to find a solution for it.

I and some others already PMd the Devs in September already, Issues came with the Tank Crew and FC release.

Please State wether you are using DDR3 or DDR4 Ram, and GPU RAM type as well.

My switch from DDR3 Notebook to DDR4 notebook made the Difference.

Also check that VSynch is turned off ingame and in your NVidia Control Panel.

Hard to tell, really. I´m on an olderly Sandy Bridge I7-2600@4200Ghz on a ASUS Maximus Extreme-Z and 16megs Ram with an ASUS Strix SLI 980 GTX graphic solution running everything graphically maxed out at 1920x1080 on Windows 10. It is all smooth sailing without any hickups for me. Don´t know why you get those response delays. I´m Alt-Tabbing all the time without any problems. IL2-Box is not even stored on my SSD, so we can exclude that as a problem. It is stored on one of my internal 4TB Western Digital purple harddrives.

I´m on Corsair Vengeance 4x4gig CMZ 16GX3M4A1600C9. Those are DDR3 Chips. So it shouldn´t be a problem if he has DDR-3 or DDR-4.

So far the only common thing was the DDR3 RAM between People, I had 24 GB Ram, but 16GB DDR4 work better.

Make sure you disable - "Seed when downloaded" from your launcher options...

@6./ZG26_Klaus_Mann I Have 16 GB of DDR4 ram on the motherboard and 8 GB of GDDR5 ram on the GPU. Is this causing the problem?

@6./ZG26_Klaus_Mann I have turned of Vsync in the game and in the Nvidia control panel. It didn't make a difference

In the Launcher screen under SETTINGS ( to the right above the picture )...

See here the option "Seed when downloaded", and disable ( untick ) it in your SETTINGS. Then pay me a beer downtown Lisbon!

Congrats, you broke the only Clue we had to go on, which makes the Problem not RAM Type dependent.

In any case, my way to reduce the Load Times were most importantly:

-Running as Admin

-Running Antivirus at Settings for slow PCs. (made 10 Minutes difference, not exagerrating)

@6./ZG26_Klaus_Mann Thanks for trying to help. I'll have a go at the 2 ways you reduced your load times :)

@6./ZG26_Klaus_Mann Setting steam to be run as Admin was so far the best solution for me. It has reduced the freeze time to about 2 seconds, so now it is tolerable. Thank you :drinks:
