Cannot create mission at all, black maps, no select

So I loaded a map and whenever I zoom in or out it turns black. Then I can't even get anything back. I imported airfields and cannot select them or edit anything in anyway.

I know I have it. I am not new to this. It's just the maps turn black as so as I zoom in or out.

Try the solutions in "The View Port Terrain Appears Black" on pg. 180 of the editor manual.

If you are using the Kuban map, it may happen that it appears black if at start you are at large zoom and positioned on water.

You should however have the grid lines displayed. Lower the zoom factor and by scrolling the map downwards (you move north) you should get to land and see the map.

I just reopened it and waited for a minute. It's back to normal now.
