I'm not very familiar with American planes; what's the DF loop and what can we use it for in the sim?

Plane looks amazing! Can we know any of the other modifications? The 9th Air Force used the British Gyro Gunsight in their P-47s like the Spit IX has, and also the American K-14.

Love that shiny bird, hope it gets every possible modification because it will be very popular ?

It's a direction-finding radio which many planes already have as a mod in IL-2 :)

One of my favourite planes.

Would you have any new information about "lobby with chat", what was mentioned in News 17.11.2017...which is quite a long time ago.

Thank you for all the responses! Very helpful

Maybe I am wrong, but the natural metal effect looks more realistic and natural (on these screenshots) than on the previous screenshots of unpainted P-39 and A-20 ?

Yes, a 109 is almost tiny compared to this monster of a plane.

I can't wait to fly that!!!! I also realized that there are no bomb pylons. is this because there is no ordinance or will they be there regardless if you carry bombs or not? not complaining, either way, THIS IS A GREAT DD AND IM HYPED AF!!!

I can't answer your question but I sincerely hope they are present on the standard aircraft without bombs.
The Fw 190 A-8 has a reversed ETC 501 logic. Hopefully it's not going to be the same with the Jug.

Everything (besides prop pitch) is manual in this crate. Like WWI crates. You‘ll love it! ;)

I admit, she‘s not as delicate as radials used to be,

I think the mixture is auto is it not?

How...how can you gaze upon the botticellian curves of the P-47 and not feel a stirring in your soul? The P-47 is a fighter as imagined by renaissance painters. Keep your sharp lines and skinny tails. Give me gigantic radials, chunky fuselages and huge proportions or give me death!

Good to know. Will there be an optional dorsal fin available too? Fingers crossed for that.

I think if you really look at the P-47, it is a very sleek airframe. It's huge but its lines flow nicely together. If you look at it from a headon view, it is every bit as aerodynamic as is the Fw-190. IMHO. I had a chance to stand close enough to one to touch it. I was stunned how big it is. Pictures just don't do it justice in that regard. That 19 and 20 somethings were able to handle that monster must say something for the P-47's flying attributes. I'd give anything to just sit in the cockpit of a P-47 or P-51.

Nice pics of that Jug.  I'm not sure what to do first, fly one or try to set one on fire.... Decisions decisions...

Yeah she looks great. I used to enjoy knocking 'em down in the original IL2 in my Ki-84.

Yes, but there are 4 lever positions, and you must choose... wisely.
