Sandmarken Posted June 3, 2023 Posted June 3, 2023 Wow! Iv played around 10 missions now and this is the most impressive atmosphere in a campaign paid or not. The amount of stuff happening around stalingrad while you fly really makes you belive you are flying over a battlefield. Intresting missions aswel. Great job this is one of my favourites from now on ?? 1 1
Falcon41 Posted June 3, 2023 Posted June 3, 2023 Vendigo, Just downloaded your campaign; however, when I went to fly it for the first time the 11th mission was selected, instead of the first. Any idea of what happened? By the way I was able to play mission 11 and others in sequence. Falcon41
Billsponge1972 Posted June 3, 2023 Posted June 3, 2023 Try this from Vendigo: Important! If you have previously installed "Fortress Stalingrad", I recommend deleting the following two files - they are found in the folder named data - ctreecache and mtreecache If you don't delete them, the game will not display the names of missions properly. Also, did you resave the campaign in the mission builder?
Falcon41 Posted June 4, 2023 Posted June 4, 2023 Billsponge1972, Re-saving in the MB after deleting those files did the trIck! Thanks for the tip. Falcon41
Vendigo Posted June 4, 2023 Author Posted June 4, 2023 Thank you guys, I appreciate your attention to "Fortress Stalingrad", actually I continue updating this campaign and sometime soon will post the new version! Btw, it seems they made some changes to AI logic of climbing towards the waypoint which is quite higher than the AI's current altitude. Previously AI would just... you know climb; but now it seems they need to put some distance between the waypoints so they fly straight where they used to be climbing in old versions of the game. Due to the above reasons, the AI behavior in the mission "New Tactics" has been affected - after takeoff the I-16's fly at 600 meters for about 5 kilometers and only then the AI leader would start a cautious climb.. As a result, I-16's arrive to the target interception area still 1.5 kilometers lower than the enemy bombers... It all worked perfectly in previous patches. Now I have moved around some waypoints and things are more or less back to normal. I will continue to update the next missions! 1 3 1
Vendigo Posted June 5, 2023 Author Posted June 5, 2023 (edited) Hahaha look who's dogfighting me with its bombs still attached: Spoiler It all worked perfectly well in previous versions of the game... Edited July 1, 2023 by Vendigo
Billsponge1972 Posted June 5, 2023 Posted June 5, 2023 Ha! That's a win-win scenario! Or a lose lose scenario depending on how you look at it!
Vendigo Posted June 27, 2023 Author Posted June 27, 2023 (edited) Campaign updated to 5.104! New “Intro movie” added! All aircraft updated with 4K skins (thank you @jollyjack for creating the skins!). Tactical numbers on all aircraft reworked. Many missions had to be reworked again due to recent changes in AI logic. Custom radio messages added in several missions. Outro movie in the final mission has been improved (thank you @Hamaha15 for your collaboration on this one). Download the full campaign from the first post in this thread. Important! As always, if you have already had older versions of "Fortress Stalingrad" installed, be sure to delete these three files: ctreecache and mtreecache and ttreecache - they can be found in the folder named data. If you don't delete them, the missions list will be botched. Enjoy! Edited July 10, 2023 by Vendigo 1 6 1
Vendigo Posted September 2, 2023 Author Posted September 2, 2023 Does anybody play this in VR? I wonder whether the intro and outro movies are workable in VR.. 1

Finally finished this 28 mission masterpiece, thank you Vendigo! Lots of action and not too much flight times, I liked the new outro movie at the end. Vendigo Posted December 11, 2023 Author Posted December 11, 2023 @TAIPAN_ thank you for the positive feedback! I think you must be one of the few who got to the final outro... What I am curious about is - when in VR and the intro/outro is playing, you can't move your head around because the view is fixed, or can you?

What I am curious about is - when in VR and the intro/outro is playing, you can't move your head around because the view is fixed, or can you? Well yours is a 3D game view with overlay text and film grain (different to career videos which are like a movie on a screen). Normally in VR the text is fixed in space, but the 3D elements you can look around a bit. Eg I could watch the battle in the background. It's kind of like when you go to external view. If the head is fixed in 3D you can feel uncomfortable, like in some MP servers they turn on the setting for cockpit limits it seems like the whole world moves when you hit the limit. Honestly riding in gunner seat is more uncomfortable than intro/outro because it has strict limits. 1
Vendigo Posted September 10, 2024 Author Posted September 10, 2024 (edited) I have been replaying "Fortress Stalingrad" on a new PC - finally the "slowing down" effect of the populated missions is a thing of the past! Spoiler I am going to post the updated Campaign asap! Edited September 15, 2024 by Vendigo
Vendigo Posted September 21, 2024 Author Posted September 21, 2024 Campaign updated to 5.204b! Fine-tuned many of the missions again. Added Romanian aircraft in some of the missions. Outro movie has been made into a separate final mission. Download the full campaign from the first post in this thread. Important! As always, if you have already had older versions of "Fortress Stalingrad" installed, be sure to delete these three files (they can be found in the folder named data): ctreecache mtreecache ttreecache
