Set them up in a Ju-52 over the mountains, or show them a moonlit night flight over water. Get them to perform a tricky navigational exercise in the rain... You might make more of a lasting impression on the massive majority of sim flyers, who are in it for the “flight” rather than the fight. My my two cents. This is so true, Jason! Digital Warfare has so much more potential to offer than just combat engagements. Navigating Ju-52 to target field using only period instruments, crosswind landings, night flying, even Ju-87 dive bombing - if there's time to make the scenarios there's a lot to intrigue civilian simmers with. Dogfighting, to casual eye, is where we look most similar ti War Thunder. Show people the shooting part of game and they will see a shooter :(. Edited June 8, 2018 by LsV_Trupobaw 1 1

LuftManu Posted June 8, 2018 Posted June 8, 2018 This really looks great! You guys have done a great job on the booth! The cockpits look amazing. I hope you make new customers there, the joy of fly in Il-2 is unique and should be experienced by many simmers. As some said, it's not only shoot but making it home in a harsh winter night near Moscow! Kind regards Jason, the team and the participants who whent to help at the booth

-332FG-Gordon200 Posted June 8, 2018 Posted June 8, 2018 Luke, I think the booths are fantastic but have a small observation. You'd be able to move the chair closer to the keyboard or stick if you put the caster of the trailing wheel in the floor slot instead of the way it's shown in the picture above. I like the idea of the slot keeping the base from turning beneath you, kudos for that. 1

Rjel Posted June 9, 2018 Posted June 9, 2018 Best of luck with the exhibit. I'd love to be there. With the three upcoming titles maybe next year's show will be the one to shoot for?

I think the navigation without the luxury of GPS is what will intrigue civ-simmers the most. The other stuff will slowly grow on them...like a fungus. Ooh! Ooh! I nearly forgot the thing that got me hooked! CLOSE FORMATION FLYING. You don't get that on msfs. Edited June 9, 2018 by 1./KG4_OldJames Darn autocucumber

Blitzen Posted June 9, 2018 Posted June 9, 2018 That's today right?????I hope someone will do a few quick vids of not only your booth but other happenings around the symposium as well-not just the new & improved sims but the things we might look forward to as improvements to VR gaming....then posts them here or on YouTube. BTW; I notified several friends who run Aviation Museums ( notably the Museum of Flight here in Seattle.) about the event.I recommended they should look around to see what might be applicable in the future to their Museums in the way of flight simulators like VR and to see whatstudio 777 aka Il-2 Sturmovik battle of Moscow, Stalingrad,et al, already has 7 what lies in their development plans. so who knows- they might be dropping by! 1
oneeyeddog Posted June 9, 2018 Posted June 9, 2018 Thanks for posting the pictures, looks great. I like the raceway that the chairs sit in. What's the purpose of the removable red insert that limits the backward travel of the chairs? Does it help when using Rudder Pedals? 1
1CGS LukeFF Posted June 9, 2018 1CGS Posted June 9, 2018 The red bars are to hold the chairs in place. Do I see...booth babes? ? 1

If you didn't have it you would slide back when you push the pedals. It is quite an annoying problem that I have solved in a variety of creative ways over the years.

When I was touring the Kalamazoo Air Zoo last year I noticed they had a flight sim set up with I believe Air Warrior. Didn't look at it that closely but I thought then too that museums like that would be a natural place to expose people to flight simulators. I have no doubt there are millions of people out there who have more than a passing interest in aviation history that likely know little about flight sims. Edited June 9, 2018 by Rjel
