Dutch2 Posted February 10, 2019 Posted February 10, 2019 I swapped this mod back in JSGME and now it all looks sharp in VR. Using the Lunifeste mod, maybe that interferes with this mod.
Gora_ Posted February 12, 2019 Posted February 12, 2019 Change cloud sample to 256 in the file for all of the sets. It helped me a lot with stuttering.

Gora_ Posted February 12, 2019 Posted February 12, 2019 Hmm, so I think you've reached the limitation of the current cloud engine...
Dutch2 Posted March 3, 2019 Posted March 3, 2019 (edited) Thanks but I already deleted this cloud mod, brings for me, only bad effects using in VR. Edited March 3, 2019 by Dutch2
Panzerlang Posted March 27, 2019 Posted March 27, 2019 Having such a high setting is supposed to be unworkable apparently, even on a monitor. I installed this mod last night and tested it in VR (8 v 8 QMB) where it worked superbly. No discernible FPS issue at all. Thank you Coco.
BP_Lizard Posted March 28, 2019 Posted March 28, 2019 This is amazing. Thank you very much, Señor Coconut.

Hi LizLemon, I prefer the look of your clouds settings in the screenshot above, more grey at the base of the clouds... Please can you tell me where to find the ski.ini file in my Il-2 Sturmovik directory? And which settings does one adjust? Thanks, Algy

Thanks, Algy You have to extract the games .gtp archives using this tool - http://www.mediafire.com/file/caxpalaudz1hd47/unGTP-IL2.zip Just drag and drop each .gtp archive into that executable then you will get a (null) folder where ever thing is extracted. Inside that folder go to graphics/sky/summer. That folder will contain all the sky presets, in folders like 00_clear_00, 00_overcast_00. Inside that is the sky.ini file. The lines you will want to experiment with are; OpticalDepth=0.7 //I like 1.0 SunBright=0.6 // Clouds lighting AmbientBright = 0.43,0.41,0.47 1 1
Algy-Lacey Posted July 3, 2019 Posted July 3, 2019 (edited) Running on my 1080p monitor everything looks smooth. Clouds mod looks good. Settings on Balanced with the other graphics settings the same as when I last flew Il-2 in VR. However, when using my monitor I have a slight problem with shimmering tree textures / outlines, but I did make some adjustments to gpresets.cfg for clouds and forrest quality which I will play around with and see if I can eliminate the shimmering. This is with in-game Antialiasing set to 2. This experimental flight was before downloading Oculus / Oculus Tray Tool and trying VR, so it can't be a problem with SS or Pixel Density... Can anyone help me get rid of the shimmering? And 1 other question regarding this mod, what should I set the clouds' effects_samples to? Currently 0.75 Edited July 3, 2019 by Algy-Lacey
ironk79 Posted November 30, 2019 Posted November 30, 2019 (edited) Coconut - would it be possible to create a mod just for saturation settings? I used your mod in the past, also changed saturation in the gpreset.cfg down to 0.8 for my rift, much better and natural colours. But now i play on normal ultra settings, since my PC can run it, only thing that bothers me are the over saturated colours in VR. Tried to configure with the gpreset.cfg, it still somehow messes clouds up (shimmering like on low settings), even though no parameters are left in the gpreset.cfg Would be very much appreciated ? rowdyb00t Posted November 30, 2019 Posted November 30, 2019 @ironk79 Try this gpreset and change the saturation line in preset 3 to your liking https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/applications/core/interface/file/attachment.php?id=79372 1

It’s possible that some lines in your gpresets have been changed. What preset are you using ie. 0,1,2,3 ? Also post effects and post drops enable should be Set to to true I believe. Check to see if these are enabled in 2 and 3.
sysprog Posted January 2, 2020 Posted January 2, 2020 (edited) Hi rowdyb00t, thanks for that, I haven't had chance over the last few days to investigate but i will try over the coming weekend. happy new year. EDIT: I found the problem...after checking everything and couldn't find a problem.. it was user error... I was flying in winter, no water in clouds but snow, swapped to summer and low and behold water droplets back what an idiot. ? Edited January 3, 2020 by sysprog amendment 1
