[Release] Logbook - record your SP & MP career progress - Now with virtual squadrons management

I would like to share a little project I developed in my spare time.

I was always be tired because I lose my career progress time to time.

For an offline player like me is very fun to browse my career progress from anywhere through my smartphone.

 

At the end I decided to build this tool.

You can find in the download section of the platform a tool to sync automatically your local careers in IL2GB folder with logbook, please uninstall previous version when update

The application at the moment is able to sync sorties (with victories), awards and hospitalizations.

It is still not eneabled to sync promotions and unit transfers so please check them manually for now (luckly they happens rarely).

 

Even if the application has readonly access, please backup your cp.db in located in [IL2GBFOLDER]\data\Career\.

 

Here you can record all your data:

- Kills

- Sorties

- Awards

- Promotions

- Hospitalizations

- Other events such unit transfers, etc.

 

The platform is fully fuctional on desktop and on mobile browsers, so you can review your progress through your smartphone too.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Not all ranks and awards are avalaible in platform, if you need to complete any allegiance please let me know.

- Now nearly all events are correctly recorded (special thanks to @FlyingH for sharing his db, note is still missing when a pilot retires, if you have experienced it, feel free to share with me you CP.db located in "data/career" folder);

- Phases switch are now managed (e.g. BOM > BOS > BOK) connecting last character now previous phases are automatically syncronized;

- Improved squadron sync algorithm, please note some issues can still happens, all the users need to update;

- Outdate version warning: now you will receive a warning if you are trying to use an oudated version of the sync app;

- Initial management of sync check: looking forward for the leaderboards, system can distinguish events manually recorded.

First leaderboards are online, set your user as public to take part.

- Download section (where you will find last version of sync apps);

- Mail address for suggestions (you can find it in credits section).

I'm on vacation right now but I will check once returned. Where is blocking? Did you see the file upload dialog? Which browser are you using?

Using Chrome. It asks me to upload the file and I do but ot doesnt change from the default one

It probably is a permission problem, just tried now and did not work even to me.

 

Without a pc it is little complex to solve... Once at home I think I can solve in minutes.

 

You can compile the other data, you will be able to add picture to your user and your characters.

Good idea. I think at times if we work on computer, any pc screen recorders can come in handy to record our career process. We can capture any onscreen video and audio activity in the way we like, skip unwanted sections, cut content to different parts, etc. Anyway, I think it's a good idea as well. Surely, a screen recorder can do more than we can imagine.

Recently I devloped an application ti sync il2 gb career progress to logbook web application in order ti do nearly same thing.

 

Once I do a mission I start the app and it sync missions and various events in the campaign.

 

This add on tool avoid the tedious operations to sync manually all the missions and events like awards or promotion.

 

If you are interested I can release a version to the public use.

 

I prepared also a tool to import programatically all my old careers in Il2 46; at the moment I imported more than 1200 sorties of my about 20 careers; if files are still avalaible this can be done in seconds.

 

I like a lot to browse from anywhere my old careers stories some are from 10 years or more ago...

Hi all! Just fixed the bug with the pictures!

Now you can upload pictures of your user and of course of your characters.

Hi there! Just completed the sync application!

 

Is now possible to sync local careers with logbook automatically!

I just released an update to implement bodenplatte in the sync tool (tool to be used to avoid add mission outcomes manually).

Also I included the possibility to upload pictures to create a more dynamic personal timeline.

 

Please note I'm still adding awards for both RAF and USAAF but  ranks are already integrated.

Yes of course, do you have problems with Logbook sync, can you help me with some other detail?

Did it say "invalid screename"? Is this issue during the login? Do you have a screeshot?

same error i run it as admin and same thing

I cannot syncronice, I get an exception saying it cannot find \IL2...\PWCGFC\Campaigns\config\Personnel! But that is not the folder I want to sync! I want to sync the careers I´m flying in the "career" folder! As for PWCG the folder campaigns\config\Personnel didn´t exist (I just created it to try again but as I don´t use PWCG that often it´s a bit irrelevant now) Tried it didn´t work.

It probably tries to scan for PWCG, may I ask if you have it installed? I will fix with a new release.

I have it installed, and I have the edited filestructure to what it says it doesn´t find but still nogo! By the way it asks for "PWCGFC", but the title is "PWCG" if that is to any help. Thanks anyway for the app as it is a great way to summerize all "pilots" careers when it´s working.

Another minor thing is I have a sovjet pilot who had flown 67 missions and raked up 79 kills, had quite a few medals(see pic) but none of them are registered. He was executed after the 67th for "comitting war crimes" The poor SOB is the first in the roasster of my pilots.

About first point, it is because I'm integrating PWCG for Flying Circus, and I think it is a little different from the PWCG for WWII (which is still not integrated at all). To solve plase first rename PWCG as originally was, otherwise it may cause problems; then uninstall Sync app and download the new one, I just published a fix to avoid the exception you reported. The retry hopepfully it should work .

 

About second thing, firstly thanks reporting the case, I decoded IL2 DB logics for myself and surely I was not able to track all cases (probably the excution of the pilot causes an exeption because is not correctly parsed), if you wish, you can make me avalaible your precious "cp.db", the SP career database which is located in data/career folder of IL2 GB. I would be very pleased to improve the sync application.

 

I've a very complete soviet pilot me too and I can assure it syncs perfectly, I would like to make this also for your pilots.

 

To conclude, please note the "Squadron" sync for the SP is not fully completed for the plan I have. First, the transfer from a squadron to another does not change all the members, second PWCG (FC) is still not integrated. Fortunately is completely indipendent from own pilot section so I can evolve it parallely.

You are very welcome! Waiting for some more users, yes, I would like to create sort of leaderboards. This is not defined in details, but for instance show a leaderboard for SP and one other for MP, virtual squadrons or maybe different simulations.

 

Even if not visibile I already coded a fairly strong system of permissions which can give a "view only" permission for the characters and for virtual squadrons.

not sure what you intent by creating some 'sort of leaderboards' - at least I can't see the benefit for me now - but for me it works perfectly as it is now as a nice and handy presentation of my SP successes.

 

I'm looking forward to get the possibilty to share my SP stats with my squadron mates (even if they aren't interested in them at all ... ). So, if there's a chance to give them a 'view only' permission to my stats site that'd be great!

 

Maybe you can lay out to us how a stats site for a virtual squadron works (in terms of gathering the necessary information) and how it could look like? I'm a real noob when it comes to such sort of things , you know ...

Leaderboard will be similar to what were present in RoF, creating a ranking where you are challeging with other SP users. A lot of time ago there was a leaderboard also in the Rise of Flight website, for me was a fun idea I think to recreate this.

Do you mean someting like TAW? Or something else? My idea is to have a cross tool for any flight simulation.

The squadron section is not completely implemented, I'm still working on it.

Soon I will release a new version of the sync to solve also this issue.

I checked and I think it was still an older version. Are you really sure the previous version was completely uninstalled before?

The download location is exact, it is the one in the first post.

 

Just tested with your CP.db and an award was missing. Now I added it.

I also added "Excuted" state and I'm working on a new version of the sync where many other events will be recorded. At the moment, for instance, promotions are missing.

 

After the test I was able to sync quite correctly your russian pilot.

 

 

Can you check trying do uninstall and reinstall?

I just published an interesting update enabling public access also for not logged users.

Once logged, under "Edit user settings" a checkbox is avalaible to set your user and their characters as public.

 

I added also share button to simplify sharing process.

I will try the new one as soon as I get down in my "cockpit" again. I´ll report back. (and i`m sure I did remove the previous one, I deleted the filder and ist content. Are there files hidden somewhere else the in the folder?)
