However they don't seem to be in any formation, is that possible? You can command them to via hotkeys found in your mappings in game. Second or last tab I believe. That is the preferable way. Past that you can try and issue the command to the lead (you in this case). The above has the formation command given 2 mins after the game begins. Alternately you can create a link from the lead plane to the formation command when the lead plane takes off.
craig2859 Posted June 5, 2019 Posted June 5, 2019 (edited) Thanks Vapor, much appreciated, I am learning a lot here, and the mission is coming on well. One annoying thing I have noticed in game - is the Player and object icons above? I know you can turn of all the HUD by pressing H, but as I am a novice, I want to keep most of the HUD but get rid of the mass of red and blue icons ingame .... is this possible? The clusters of units? The quickest way to clean things up is to select them and then add them to a "group". Much like you did with "scene". Then you can step into groups and sub groups as needed. It also seems to speed up the Mission editor in general. I usually create a file like hierarchical structure for my maps. Here is an example, note the hierarchical structure in the window on the left... 1
RedBravo65 Posted October 8, 2019 Posted October 8, 2019 This has been an excellent video series. Been going through it myself the last few days and already have the makings of a good mission I've started. Most helpful in understanding basics and logic of the mission editor. Thank you for this. 1
Falcon41 Posted February 9, 2020 Posted February 9, 2020 Vapor, Just found this group of videos and they are wonderful...a great help for those of us just beginning to use the mission editor! KUDOS to you and I hope you’ll continue the series for the benefit of all us neophyte mission builders. 1
zelil Posted February 20, 2020 Posted February 20, 2020 Thanks I'll take anything that helps. I feel they the made the learning curve to steep for the avarage player who plays 5 house a week but would like to make some missions but has no time to slog through the learning curve. The oringal il2 was super easy to make missions. 1

352ndRoodster Posted August 18, 2020 Posted August 18, 2020 Vapour, Great set of videos however, I have a basic question in relation to Video 2 "Objects & MCU's". Early in the video you explained how to group all icons on the map into one single icon "Scene". However when I go to do it, all the objects remain in place after selecting "remove from selection" & yes I followed your video to each instruction on how to do it. Any ideas on what I am doing wrong or I am wondering if I might have a corrupted version of the game and looking at a re-install? Attached is a screen shot of the end result of my efforts.

It looks like you have Draw > Draw Icons in Group selected.
