6./ZG26_Custard Posted September 21, 2017 Posted September 21, 2017 I bet it's the marshal mode Could be the Po-2 or even better a Hurricane (one can hope)
Siegfried Posted September 21, 2017 Posted September 21, 2017 I just bought Kuban now. Keep the good job guys!! 1
56RAF_Roblex Posted September 27, 2017 Posted September 27, 2017 Back on topic. Do we expect the Yak-7 to be better than the Yak-1b which seems to be way out in front of the 'Kills per Death' tables at the moment? Does it have downsides? Maybe one of the futures Developer updates can be a pilots guide. I am sure I have seen one done before as part of a DD.

From what I know of and understand of the versions we have... the Yak-1B will still be "better" but the Yak-7B will be very close to it. The 7B should feel a little heavier and a be a little less agile while also being more stable and easier to fly. It should in theory be a tiny bit tougher to bring down too. Given how late this 7B model is I expect its speed to be about on par with the 1B but with slightly reduced climb. I'd expect that it should rise to a similar ratio. Assuming people fly it. It is a bit of an ugly duckling though that does hold a certain appeal too!
216th_Lucas_From_Hell Posted September 27, 2017 Posted September 27, 2017 Given its armament I wouldn't exclude it from matching or surpassing the Yak-1 in effectiveness since a salvo is more likely to down just about anything.

Even a 190? :-) I fought one the other day with my spitfire and hit his engine with cannon on two separate occasions as well as several hits to the fuselage and wings but my cannon shells did little more than scratch it. I even went through the track after to see if I had imagined the hits. I think it is designed to be one of the toughest pure fighters and I believe I read that 1C rate it above the IL2 in wing strength.
216th_Lucas_From_Hell Posted September 27, 2017 Posted September 27, 2017 It's a matter of luck. A nice shot into the ammo storage in the wings and it pops off clean!
Te_Pille Posted January 4, 2018 Posted January 4, 2018 I like the Yak-7b instrument layout over the Yak-1b one. Fuel quantity keep the same?
esk_pedja Posted February 26, 2018 Posted February 26, 2018 The Yak-1 is one of my favourite planes in the whole game - an upgunned version of it sounds beautiful Mine plane two, but: Hmmm... upgraded (heavier) armament means - somewhat slower plane, less climbing rate and also wider turns in dogfight due to higher centrifugal force - as far as I understand air combat physics... ?
Trooper117 Posted February 26, 2018 Posted February 26, 2018 Ha, makes no difference to me what armament it's got, or if it's heavier or lighter... I still can't hit a cow in the arse with a banjo!
Field-Ops Posted February 27, 2018 Posted February 27, 2018 I dont know if you guys noticed but the Yak7b also has the fastest dive speed compared to the other Yaks and even the LAs.
