VSN_Razor Posted July 21, 2017 Posted July 21, 2017 I've created a very basic mission, with only one plane and a windsock but nothing else in it except the importet buildings and structures. I tried to spawn my plane outside and on the runway with the spawn set to "parked" or something like that. both plane and the airfield share the same coalition. Now when I open my game and launch the mission, I can customize my plane, but when I try to play the mission, I can only see the thing in the screenshot attached and I can only change the outside views but can't go into the cockpit. The view though is moving so I assume my plane is sliding somewhere under the ground. And I made sure that I have pressed the "set on ground" button and confirmed the altitude in the dialogue. What's the cause of that? Bf-110 Gustav.zip 2017_7_21__18_18_23.bmp
Thad Posted July 21, 2017 Posted July 21, 2017 (edited) Salutations, Offhand... and without looking, did you create and designate a plane as the "player" ? Click on the link below. Download the guide. It will explain basic mission building for you. https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/17721-prangsters-il-2-bos-mission-building-guide/ Edited July 21, 2017 by Thad
Thad Posted July 21, 2017 Posted July 21, 2017 After a quick look... you have the fake airfield plane showing. You have to add a plane... make it a Linked Entity and in its Advanced settings... make it the Player. Have it designated as "parked" or "on Runway.

Thad Posted July 21, 2017 Posted July 21, 2017 (edited) You can't fly an airfield symbol. Create ANOTHER plane as the player (you). Please download the mission building guide. Edited July 21, 2017 by Thad

As I already stated in the two earlier posts, I have a plane in that mission. Unless you mean I have to create two player planes. Edited July 21, 2017 by VSN_Razor
Thad Posted July 22, 2017 Posted July 22, 2017 Please download the mission building guide. Specifically check chapter 4.3 on page 63 of the guide. "Creating a Single Player mission".
Thad Posted July 22, 2017 Posted July 22, 2017 What you have in the mission is a airfield\fakefield item. It is NOT a plane. It designates an 'airfield'. I'm through here.
VSN_Razor Posted July 22, 2017 Author Posted July 22, 2017 So you want to tell me that this is not a plane (see screenshot)?
JimTM Posted July 22, 2017 Posted July 22, 2017 (edited) Razor, take a look at the following troubleshooting items in this manual: - The Player Cannot Enter a Plane in a Singleplayer Mission (pg. 185) I think that the third bullet re. the GUI map and terrain may be your problem. - Player Enters Plane and Is Kicked Out or Plane Is Destroyed or Goes Underground (pg. 186) UPDATE: Your GUI map (Lapino Winter) does not match your terrain (lapinosummer). In Mission Properties, click "Terrain Presets" and choose "Lapino". Edited July 22, 2017 by JimTM
Thad Posted July 22, 2017 Posted July 22, 2017 (edited) Add the changes displayed in the image below to your plane. Check out the attached mission. A flare will fire for takeoff. Auto Pilot can be used to watch the entire flight through combat. Sample Mission.zip Edited July 22, 2017 by Thad
JimTM Posted July 22, 2017 Posted July 22, 2017 (edited) Razor, see my update above. Edited July 22, 2017 by JimTM
JimTM Posted July 22, 2017 Posted July 22, 2017 Great! Enjoy mission building Razor (as much as you can)!
Habu Posted July 23, 2017 Posted July 23, 2017 Your plane was in the ground on your screenshot, so when you spawn, the plane must be damaged. When you have that situation, select the plane, and use the button Set on ground.
