To be honest, Siddy is a decent chap. He lives in a forest in Finland and has his very own sense of hardcore drunken-sauna humor  - and that's no joke, that's the actual reality  He flies Germans as well, and then curses about Yaks and the Communists. He doesn't use F-words, or C-words, and is quite funny on the political side.

 

I am all for letting him back in and giving him another chance.

 

 

 

On a note, in the regard to the general attitude of US boys lately: The Social Justice Warriors who have no sense of manly classical humor are really an issue these days - now their attitude of "don't you dare offend anyone" and "free speech stops once your joke is too rabid!!1", even starts spreading its soft carebear-fluff wings over Europe. Especially with a name like Milo, I'd ask you to reconsider your descision at least partially and give him a chance. He's really from the forest at the northern end of the world.

Fenris, i had a talk with the Milo, and tho i wont post it or disclose it because it is confidential... i will hint at some of it. The things he took offense for was about as benign as a banter in a bar with beer and bois on Friday night in Hamburg. (Something that modern latte sipping millennial in San Francisco would possibly have a panic attack over, so there is that)

 

Things that everyone knew, were said in jest before, are now reason for people take offence for to score some  "oppression points".

What is even worse is that people get offended on behalf other people. A soft form of censorship: "No, you cannot hear his opinion, it is offensive to you :^)"

So it was after that reply i got from Milo that i realized how well and long have the termites dined in the minds of the coastal inhabitants and dropped the issue. 

 

What really grinds my gears is that this discord is sponsored by this game company, indirectly but still affiliated. And this is something that needs to stop.

 

PS: also the double standard, when people made fun of the right wing stuff, like, oh i don't know, TRUMP, it was a-ok. Guess what side was off limits :^)

I've made done some systems work on the server that don't change too much, but I'd like to make y'all aware of them.

 

First off, there's been some consolidation to the server rules.

Secondly, been some changes as to how roles work on the server If you have roles before, I went ahead and changed them to the new system for you.

The ranks 1946 and CloD have also been made available.

Lastly, the role bot, Dyno, is no longer able to read messages outside of the Bot Channel. If you need to use it, please do in there.

Siddy, It has been a while since I replied. I want to say I'm not ignoring you, but I wanted to be able to approach you without being hot-headed.

 

I want to say that I think how I handled your situation was poor, and unfair to you. For that, I apologize. However, I'd like to comment that it was not due to my political affiliation. To make the assumption that it was just because I live in Washington state is just that, an assumption.

 

I'm going to lift your ban, but I will treat this situation as a first strike against you. If you choose to re-join, I hope that you will comply with the new rules I have written to be more professional.

I'm very pleased to announce that this Discord server will be turning two years old on the Monday the 11th!

More so than ever before, this Discord is looking more like the community center that I intended it to be when it was originally formed. I have nobody to thank other than the members who continually use the server as a platform.

Aside from this, several small changes have occurred on the server over the past few months that were not work pointing out individually.

Here's a list of them:

1. Mission editor, events/wingmen, and game help text channels have all been added
2. The role "Wingman" has been added for those who would like the ability to be tagged in posts by other users who are going to be player/ are looking to play
3. The in-house squadron "NoD" (Non-official Discord) was created with it's own role and channel
4. The Squadron recruitment channel went through a re-vamp
5. More custom emojis have been added to the server, which include a few made by yours truly

For those wondering what NoD is, it is a  loose squadron for members of the server that are interested in flying in a continuous group, like any other squadron. We don't use any restricted voice channels when we play, so anyone who wants to play is free to join in. By joining the "NoD" role, you get access to a private room which we all BS in.

Howdy, pilots!

I'm proud to have yet another major development in the processes of my server.

The following are what have changed:

1. We have completely curbed the old process of adding rules to yourself by typing individual commands for every role. Now, you simply have to react to our bot YAGPDB.xyz's role table with a role's corresponding emoji, and you can remove/assign it to your profile!
2. Due to the nature of the previous point, the bot_channel for assigning roles has been completely removed, and now everything can be done from the in-processing channel
3. A DCS role has been added with corresponding text and a voice channels for it
4. Many roundel and other IL-2 related emojis have been added to the server. 33, in fact.
5. Our Discord now has it's own in house squadron! They are extremely casual, but a fun bunch who are excited about IL-2 and DCS and play extremely often. Don't be shy about joining!

I just wanted to quickly share a project I've been working on with my free time for around 3 weeks:

A Discord bot custom on server, titled "Air Marshall":

 

I know absolutely nothing about coding, so this has been a good 3 weeks of working out what the hell I'm doing

 

The purpose of this bot is to keep track of kills/awards in an air campaign for a group of pilots.

Thus far, I have managed to culminate my work into an embedded table which the information will be displayed when the command is given:

Anyways, this is the main thing I am working towards right now. My next (and probably biggest) step will be creating files that user information will be stored in, and pulled from for inputs in the table.

Very nice, the bot is going places!

Howdy all!

Another update on the development of the bot. Here are some changes since the last update:

- Colored bar of embedded table now matches the author's username color

- Users can create and store garbage stat data in an SQLite database

- The bot can read and put garbage stat data into embedded table corresponding to the author

 

Here are a few screenshots to describe what is going on:

The user creates garbage data using a command.

 

The bot creates a row in the database filling out the following fields "user", "sorties", "aircraft destroyed", "ground targets destroyed", and "hours flown" .

the "user" field is created from getting the message author's username. All the other data is RNG in the range of 0-10.

 

The user can then use another command, which prompts the bot to find a user's data, and input it into the embedded table.

 

All that is left now is for a user to be able to input their own data, and then refinement of the bot's code.

Howdy all!

I'm proud to announce that Marshal has arrived at some sort of basic functionality.

Since it has reached this point of development, I want to answer what this program's purpose is.

To put it simply, this bot was created to allow for manually tracked player statistics for squadrons/co-op campaigns. It was created specifically for campaigns on this thread's Discord server, but I'm sharing it because others may find it to be useful as well.

 

In total there are 4 commands that can be used in relation to stats:

• profilecreate: creates a section for player information in the database
• stats: views player stat table from the database
• report: used to update player stats in the database
• clear: resets all player stats to zero

Here is a screenshot of what the final stat table looks like:

 

More functions will be added later, but this is what I have for now.
