SJ_Butcher Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 No need to be rude. It's totally OK to ask such questions. If You don't care about RoF and WWI it's fine. But who are You to tell others what to post here and what not? me? nobody, but is in the rules.
SCG_Space_Ghost Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 Getting back on topic... How does the BK 3.7 work on the Bf 110? Is it manually reloaded after every shot? As Asgar stated, gravity fed magazine around 6 rounds in capacity.
Matt Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 Detailed info about the BK37 on the Bf 110 here (in German). http://www.deutscheluftwaffe.com/archiv/Dokumente/ABC/b/Bordwaffen/Bordkanonen/Bordkanone37cm/Text/Bf110G2/Bf%20110%20G-2-R%20Teil%208%20A.pdf 2
6./ZG26_5tuka Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 (edited) As Asgar stated, gravity fed magazine around 6 rounds in capacity. Yes, it's 6 rounds per clip x 11 clips = 66 rounds. With other words a pretty good punch for any tank (or aircraft). Mind you that installing this gun means you have to sacrifise both nose mounted MG151s. Very nice pics of the 110! Thos sleeker engine nacelles at least make it look faster Edited January 13, 2017 by 6./ZG26_5tuka 1
1CGS LukeFF Posted January 13, 2017 1CGS Posted January 13, 2017 No, the radio operator had to pull up the empty cartridge frame with a special tool and a rope, and then reload the gun with a new six round frame. There were one frame int the gun and ten additional frames in the box under the floor, so 66 rounds for the gun. As Asgar stated, gravity fed magazine around 6 rounds in capacity. Detailed info about the BK37 on the Bf 110 here (in German). http://www.deutscheluftwaffe.com/archiv/Dokumente/ABC/b/Bordwaffen/Bordkanonen/Bordkanone37cm/Text/Bf110G2/Bf%20110%20G-2-R%20Teil%208%20A.pdf Thanks!
Cpt_Cool Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 should be a gravity fed magazine. 6 or so shells in the gun, just throw shells on top you can see them stacked to the right of the box.
Jason_Williams Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 Not a tiny little single word about VR support? It's not done yet. Jason 6
SCG_Tzigy Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 Any word on getting SLI back? Not working for me with newest drivers.... (have older but still great 690..) O/w great news, cant wait for the 110g!
FlyingNutcase Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 New Year's wishes. It's nice to see the new year off to a positive start, incl hearing back from nVidia and AMD!

SCG_Tzigy Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 Thx, Smok, saw that; was gonna try later today. Where is that line to change the parameters? Nvidia Inspector or config.ini?

I./JG1_Baron Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 hmmmmm new Bf-110G looks...in one word - magnifique. 1
Mesha44 Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 Regarding the loading of the 37mm, I am not an expert but take a look at the picture of the 110 cockpit from the gunner seat. You can see the back of the pilots head and rows or ammo on the floor. Looks like the rounds drop into the stack on the right and feed downward.
Beazil Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 (edited) It's not done yet. Jason Lol! You asked for one and you got four. Thanks for the update so quickly after what I'm sure was a not long enough break for the team. Obviously some of us are rabid for vr tech to be implemented. but you know that already. Great work! Both of the 110 and the 111 look to present challenges for the aspiring German pilot. I'm looking forward to another community developed guide for each of them. I finally think this *might* be THE year for this simulator to really start to outshine some others in some really exciting ways. I salute the teams work and look forward to the future. S! Edit: the pace of development here is very impressive. Astounding really. Edited January 14, 2017 by Beazil 6
Tomsk Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 Edit: the pace of development here is very impressive. Astounding really. +1 they're moving it along nicely, really good to see
Nil Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 thank you very much for the update. as usual, your team is getting the job done. impressive! remember to get some good sleep
HippyDruid Posted January 15, 2017 Posted January 15, 2017 Good news on some of the bug fixing. I was wondering if the developers have had a chance to look at the Force Feed Back bug? It's so frustrating that this causes stuttering when version 2.0006 improved the FPS so wonderfully. https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/26746-trackir-and-ffb-working-together-cause-terrible-stuttering/ Please tell me you will have a look at it!!
BMW801 Posted January 15, 2017 Posted January 15, 2017 Those screen shots are superb! Best flight sim EVER!!!
Guest deleted@50488 Posted January 15, 2017 Posted January 15, 2017 Great News, and sorry for diverting into physics only aspect of the News... Yesterday while gliding ( IRL ) I took some time to test pitch stability on the PW6-U glider. I weight around 80 kg with the parachute, and my passenger around 98kg - in the back seat - so, while well within the CoG the aircraft felt different from when I fly alone :-) Well, pitching up / down and letting go of the stick, and carefully memorizing it's initial position to make sure it returns to that position - which it does almost instantly when released ( the trimmed neutral position ) I see the nose stay at the new pitch, either positive or negative, and only after that sloooooooly initiating the phugoid cycle. There is for sure no sudden "elastic" return to the trimmed pitch as in practically all aircraft in IL.2. This, together with the still overdone interrelation between yaw and roll are the only "serious" drawbacks in IL.2 BoX flight dynamics, which I strongly hope to see addressed with the upcoming patches :-) Ah! The next flight was on a PA-18, our glider tug, who I asked to try to test the same... My fellow glider and tug pilots keep telling I should better use my little spare time to participate in more glider contests instead of seating in front of a pc playing war games... but that's because they never saw IL.2 .... Well, the PA-18 reacted exactly the same way. She stays put at the new pitch attitude after a sudden pitch input and return to neutral.

If we speaking of same effect this sudden return of stick is very significant in Mig3. If you have force feedback stick and change abrupt pitch you will notice sudden and hard kick back effect. Could you confirm this ? (I was reporting this unfortunately without luck).
JG4_Sputnik Posted January 15, 2017 Posted January 15, 2017 Can't wait to be flying BoX again - as soon as it has VR implemented I will be on board again! Fingers crossed that it doesn't take too much longer. So hyped And nice pics! 1

Unfortunately I do not own an FF joystick ( just a TS16000 ) but I confirm that's what happens with the Mig-3 and all other aircraft, specially the 109, 190, but not only... This sudden return to the "trimmed pitch" attitude doesn't seem anywhere plausible to me, at least compared to my real life experience....
Boomerang Posted January 15, 2017 Posted January 15, 2017 Great news. The 110 looks beautiful, and optimization is always a good thing, especially when it comes to more planes on the ground and in the air
kestrel79 Posted January 15, 2017 Posted January 15, 2017 110 one of my favorite planes, looking good. I'm getting great fps now on my older system this game is so much more fun which it's fluid.
BornToBattle Posted January 16, 2017 Posted January 16, 2017 (edited) I'm a US heavy bomber guy so I'm chomping at the bit for the A-20B since it's starts to lean in the direction I'd log all my flight time in, or most anyways. Having more and more planes being able to be added to flights in updates will be a great call. With the Pacific theater looming seems like the awesome (well, in my book anyways) B-25 Mitchell would be a natural offshoot from the A-20, then from there the badass big boys (my all time favorite being the B-24)! There is for sure no sudden "elastic" return to the trimmed pitch as in practically all aircraft in IL.2. Try flying a Pe-2 once with 4x250kg and once with 10x100kg bombs. With the 10x100 kilograms the pe-2 wants to stay in the pitch you leave it in while with the 4x250kg it wants to return to its trimmed angle almost immediately. What I am trying to say is that it depends a lot on the aircraft and its design, so it is difficult to say if it is correctly modelled or not. Btw: If you let go of the stick (on your desk) it will go back to its neutral position, ingame however that can mean that the virtual pilot does apply force to make it stay in that position, this could lead to so called rubberbanding. 1
6./ZG26_5tuka Posted January 16, 2017 Posted January 16, 2017 I can only confirm what jcomm says (also by manually pushing the stick to neural position). It's clear though that this observation is difficult to apply to the game because of the different interaction of stick position and stick forces.
EisenWaffel Posted January 16, 2017 Posted January 16, 2017 Will these optimizations fix the stutters that seem to happen from stuff loading in or a lot of times in multiplayer when objectives get completed or events happen? Does the dedicated server program get optimizations? Can dust and smoke effects get optimized, can we get more options for controlling the graphics (for instance I might want to use high level textures but lower poly objects) Can the LOD blending of the trees get improved so it's not so much a straight line?
RAY-EU Posted January 17, 2017 Posted January 17, 2017 Thanks ,another step , The best SIM to be continued in develope of making very good job on the way of WW2 history .
SOLIDKREATE Posted January 17, 2017 Posted January 17, 2017 Excellent news. I cannot wait to go smash armor with the new 110! note: Aren't the horizontal stabilizers supposed to be bigger? larger rudder ect?
LLv24_Zami Posted January 19, 2017 Posted January 19, 2017 That 37mm gun looks pretty nasty, I bet it`s going to be fun to play with How widely was it used on eastern front?

Urra Posted January 20, 2017 Posted January 20, 2017 We also want to tell you that we almost finished the physics and AI systems optimization. We succeeded in increasing these AI aircraft flight calculations performance slightly more than two times. Since we already have upped AI aircraft physics performance while on the ground by 3 times earlier, we and you will be able to create scenarios containing twice the amount of aircraft as before. Currently this optimization is planned to be added to the public version in February or March, in update after the next one. Maybe we'll get to hear some more details about this next Friday?
