Obelix, the photo isn't showing.

On a side note, from the caption, aren't these different aircraft flying in different theatres anyway? Plus the latter if photographed in August 1943 could explain the different colours since grey was only fully introduced in the second half of 1943.

I think I will be downloading unGTP from the link in the R.O.F site.

Does it come with instructions? Or is it easy to use?

Very nice Zargos :) I was waiting to see what you will make for this beauty :) I still fly your MiG-3 skins for 1946

As a Flying Tigers' fan, I would begin with this one:

I don't know which skin I'm going to make first !

I just drag and drop the GTP file I want to open right onto the unGTP.exe icon.  It starts working straight away and unpacks everything into a new folder titled "(NULL)"

Hello,

Since we don't have the official template yet, I've decided to make my own one from the default skin file.

All is new : panel lines, rivets, etc...

Here is the skin as it is now (WIP of course) :

Many, many, many things left to do ...

Nice one Spektre.  A well deserved upvote from me.

For all the Russian speakers among us, does anyone know what the slogan is that's written on the MiG in the far background?

Now that we ifnally have the template it's time to take a break from Luftwaffe skinning I guess :)

This one is in the pepeline:

Hi Feathered,

I can't read that one (too small) but another one from the same squadron: За партию большевиков (For the party of bolsheviks) in two lines http://www.easymodel.net/index.php/Index/ProductDetail/id/172.html

It might be the one from the last depicted plane.

very good skins! thank you!

Thanks for the feedback. Actually the problem wasn't the hue. It's the exact one taken from actual paintchips. But it was too desaturated, so it looked greyish brown. I adapted the color, and updated the download links.  :salute:

Trying my hand with a skin for the first time ever, but I'he run into a small problem: When I make a DDS file to track my progress and try to view it in the skin viewer, the textures criss cross all over the plane, as if the skin image is flipped around.

Can someone post me a picture of what the skin looks like in PhotoShop so I can check if my skin file is somehow flipped?

I think the colours are spot-on now, definitely compatible with the Soviet aircraft you find in museums.
