Don - A couple more thoughts on this.  Like you, I play with Icons On (we are 20 year old fighter aces - right?), but I also check the campaign map every 10km for enemy flights (also not cheating, at least in WWII with radios and radar).  In addition, I tweaked my campaign settings from the PWCG stock settings to include at least one more fighter flight, but probably more importantly to increase the chances that bomber, attack and transports will be escorted.  I seem to remember that Pat kept those % chances less to keep from overloading player's CPU.  I think the "Max Virtual Escorts" is a critical one to change.  With that in mind, here are my settings to see if these help get you more action (FYI - my simple config Air Density is set to Low):

Thanks much will have a look. Part of the issue may be the enemy is down to just a handful of units, I tried replenishing but that seemed to help only my side.

Hmm...that sounds like a bug since @PatrickAWlson put the replenish to specifically remedy this problem with enemy attrition, and he specifically mentioned above that it handles both sides. 

 

I believe the units not flying should show up on red on the intel screen.  If the "Emergency Resupply" button isn't correcting that to bring them back into action, you should probably post the error file here so that Pat can take a look at what is happening in your campaign.

@dburne What would be interesting is to see the mission.  Also, you could use "report error" to zip up the campaign so I could have a look.  I am pretty sure that this is not a PWCG wide issue as most people do not have any problems finding a fight.  it could be something odd like the location of your unit vs enemy units or some other set of factors that were never accounted for.

 

Checking to see if emergency resupply is working is easy.  Open your intel report after doing the resupply and look at enemy units.  Depleted units are marked in red.  You can go further and check individual units to see what they have in planes and pilots.  If there is some issue with emergency resupply that might be the easiest to solve.

I don't know what happened here because I went after a 110 and wasn't with the rest of the flight when this happened.  Either my flight leader got mis-credited for his kill (which is what I think happened), or Preddy has decided to juice his kill count by poaching wingmen!

Are there any RAF squadrons flying P-51Bs? The vanilla career has a short stint, I'd be happy with some liberty's taken to get Mustangs throughout a campaign. Maybe with some D models mixed in for good measure?

3. He shot down one of his own.  Need to revisit that to prevent victory awards.

5. Looks like a bad install as it is not finding background images.  Recommend reinstalling.

Where the empty is installed on steam?  Not sure I understand that.  Extract it into the game directory.  The zip file will create PWCGBoS.  You will in end up with

"<yourIL2 install dir>\PWCGBoS"

 

You can also post PWCGErrorLog.txt to this forum.  The file is in PWCGBoS.

Thanks.  Confirms suspicions.  The PWCG cannot find its images.  Those images are part of the zip so the only thing that I can think of is a corrupted download.  I would blow away the zip file and the install.  Download again and reinstall.

 

If you want to confirm, open the zip file and look for BosData\Images.  There are several subdirectories under that.  That is where the image files should be.

also try just unzip the file on to the desktop then in side the folder should be the PWCGbos folder copy that then paste it into the Stalingrad directory, please allow it to over write all the files.

I think its a Java issue and your antivirus is blocking it.

Java was removed by Microsoft you have to down load that to use PWCG.

I do not see your file extensions, leaves me to believe, either your antivirus is removed it, or you haven't installed java.

At some point, yes.  I have not really done much work on PWCG since the TC release and might not be in a position to pick it back up for some time.

For the fir4st time I am actively asking for donations.  Donations are still optional, but I'm asking.  See link on upper right of PWCG download screen.

 

On the Gotha and HP/400, they are in but it is not a good experience.  Air starts are a must as no field on the current map can accommodate them.  Further, the AI does not seem able to fly time properly.  On auto pilot with an air start, two of three Gothas spun in.  The HPs stayed in the air but they were flopping around like fish on a dock.  My best suggestion if you really want to fly them is to do single aircraft missions and fly the lone plane yourself.
